Track Day Domination: 2024 Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono Unleashed!

- Yes, only a few hundred miles on the bike and we are out on track pushing the single cyclinder 698 to it's limit at the 2024 April 30th Ducati Track Day at the WSBK Donington park here in the UK.
This bike is probably even more fun than the 950 SP on track being lighter, faster in the corners, super late on the brakes and can even use the rear slide brake control to get some nice skids while passing the Panigale's.
I've filmed it using a GoPro and the new Insta 360 Go 3 helmet camera to get a POV on track - the wind was terrible on the day and apologise if that spoils the experience but bear with - theres some good banter and commentating and a bit of off-roading!

Got my red-one last week und will do the 1000km inspection next week on friday…and than throttle 100%. So much fun to see what that little toy is able to to, enjoy and stay save, crazy man👍🏻
I serviced mine after 500km.. did it at home and then straight onto track to properly break the engine in 😂😂

I enjoyed watching that, I am looking forward even more now to my test ride. Your footage reminded me of riding my 1992 TZ250 at Donnington-you can carry masses more speed in the corners and brake much later than the big bikes-but then they just piss off down the straights……
Yeah.. them straight line munchers pin it when a straight comes but you can get them on the brakes 😂

Awesome riding mate. What a bike. The camera position on the first laps clearly shows why supermotos and dirt bikes need to loop the brake line over the dash.
Yeah.. when watching it back that loop looks like target practice for the next bike to overtake 😂😂

@@hypermotardking a lot of the other riders would of had a much better day if they had a 698, riding a smaller bike flat is better then not pushing a bigger bike .. on track or road.. and off road 😂

Lap times from the sp for comparison, 1. 52!! Well ridden, loved seeing the suspension work with the brake hose going up and down in the fisrt half.
My best time on the 950 SP around Doni is a 1:48 (ironically the same laptime as my R1).. so to only be 7 seconds slower which is probably the 7 small straight sections where i lose out on top speed
Nice one. Did you change your suspention set-up from stock or lowered the front? How was the Rosso IV on track?
I followed the compression/rebound settings from the manual to their sportiest setting fror front/rear.. haven’t lowered the front yet. Rosso IV surprised me, rear grip and corner speed were awesome

Nice laps Kal I have a shit ton of videos behind the bars on my hyper but I don't want to post them because they're on the street if you know what I mean. I had one question what do you weigh with all your gear on that you would ride track with? Last time I checked I was 230 lb which is heavy for a rider. I would love to have an old-school two-stroke rz500 or something similar but I know I'm too fat for that bike😆
Me in all my track gear (air bag vests etc) is about 80-85kg… 👍🏻
great fun.....out of choice would u take the 950 next time on track or stick with the mono. seemed a bit painful on the straights.
depends on the track.. cadwell would be more 698.. Brands GP the 950…

@@benitopacho542 Obviously lacks a bit of grunt out the corners but can easily hold carry the speed through the corners.. seems i can be a bit stupid and have more fun with this

the lightness of the bike might compensate the lack of grunt, hopefully 😁

Head shake.. ? Sorry, you lost me 😭
Head shake sometimes occurs when getting hard on the brakes the handlebars start to oscillate back and forth. In other words, it didn’t appear the bike needs a steering damper. Correct? It looked pretty stable from all the hard braking that I saw.
@@rickflores2420 Yeah, no headshaking occuring.. didn’t feel the need for a steering damper.. the bikes light and agile so just goes 👍🏻
What’s the orange light on the LHS of the dash??? Traction/Wheelie control?

Its the 360 Go 3, the black one.
I got a small magnet from Amazon, cut a small hole inside helmet left side in the fabric and glued the magnet inside there - then the Go3 just sticks to it using the magnet 👍🏻

Well mate I am thoroughly convinced that I have too much bike and not enough skill ( EBR 1190RX) my bike has to much power really I don’t have the skill you have so I really have no business owning it😄I’m sure you would have lapped me several times if I where there was there as well 😂, with that said I’m going to sell or trade my bikes for the the Ducati 698 Mono , you look like your where having so much fun! Would you say is your Ducati 698 mono is the most favorite bike and most fun bike you’ed ever owned?
In the short space I’ve owned it and sitting next to my 950 in the garage, for just jumping on.. going for a ride.. forgetting about life and enjoying the moment - the 698 is my goto bike 👌🏼👌🏼
@@hypermotardking yeah your 950 whilst it’s your fastest bike on the street , you can crack that throttle only so much until your doing felony speeds and shattering speed limits to the point where you could anger the cops and citizens of England to easily 😆where as on your 698 mono you can still have fun on a slower bike! Man, maybe I have Asperger's syndrome, but I cannot stand that cable there. It would absolutely keep me from buying this bike...What a major visual mistake for what seems like an otherwise flawless bike...It's like having an annoying pebble in your shoe, or a fly that keeps landing on you...
Obviously the camera angle doesnt help.. u dont notice it as much when you’re in the bike
