I own a 1966 Gibson GA-15RVT (also called Gibson Explorer) and it is a very cool amp. The reverb is very cavernous and works in an odd way. If you plug into the amp, turn down the volume (loudness) and crank up the reverb all the way, you get this weird 100% wet distorted reverb. If I am not mistaken, it is a tube driven spring reverb.

There's so much timbral range on the "depth" control of a Fuzzrite it oculd have been made to sound a lot more similar to the Mojo Hand counterpart, at least in terms of frequency response. You can get an absurd amount of low-mid out of those things, and the middle of the control range gets into this weird, spitty, broken kind of sound that reminds me a bit of some of the Devi Ever pedals. IIRC it's a pretty unusual design for a fuzz circuit, and nothing else really sounds quite like it.

Josh made quite the move with doing these videos, finding a way to provide a substantial service to the music community.I don't know anyone who plays, of any generation or genre, that isn't familiar. You can argue the necessity of JHS as a pedal manufacturer( among now so many), but you can't really argue with their influence or impact, anymore.

Lovin' my Mojo Hand FX Villanova Vibe. My search for Univibes ended when I plugged that in for the first time.

The Villanova is exceptional.I found it to be the only reasonable , good vibe; the others being over the $200 mark.Does it's own thing.

I'm kinda glad they "stole" your first Clover idea. I love the look of that pedal because it's clean, simple and a nod to the original.

Listening to Sandpit now and it’s giving me a Pinback sort of vibe. Very nice.

Los from years back would list the gear used and even the recording equipment. I remember reading the line notes of early Beatles records from my mom's collection. By the way she is responsible for my live of music. She had everything from big band, jazz, crooners, country, symphonies, rock and even recordings of Broadway musicals. I'm grateful to her for broadening my musical palate.

Wow, that RVT pedal! And the prices for their pedals are very buyer friendly. Somehow all the Australia bands I know, love and have followed since the 80s I had completely missed Sandpit. The very little I've listened to so far reminds me a lot of Seam from the US. Josh, Nick (and world) I'd like you all to check out "Slow Train to a Comfy Jail" from the album Come Across by Sydney, Australia's Jamie Hutchings and his band Bluebottle Kiss (now defunct. Jamie, however has not stopped releasing quality music under his own name and another band he fronts called Infinity Broke and other projects). Please, please, please give him a listen. Incredible songwriter with stacks of great songs performed that will give you the feels with hooks, intensity and more. Thanks for the down low on Mojo Hand.

Josh is a genius, hiding in plain sight. While there are many, very good YT channels for guitarists, this one is produced on a whole different level.

But wow! I'm gonna have to get an RVT!

Surprised you did not show the Mojo Hand FX Colossus. I have the old copper version and it is one of the best Fuzz pedals ever made.

Sandpit are amazing. Hearing them makes me want to listen to tracks like Splat! by Bailterspace, early Magic Dirt, Ovlov, Underground Lovers, Dinosaur & Electr-o-pura era Yo La.... I could go on!

Me at 5:15 on the video: “WHERE IS MY MASTERCARD I NEED THREE OF THESE CROSSTOWN PEDALS AND I NEED THEM SENT OVERNIGHT” 😂 That’s some goooooood fuzz

I've had a Sacred Cow on my pedalboard for years. It does the "clean" boost thing very well but with the gain turned up a little it sounds amazing.

I also love when bands put their gear on the back of the record. I have a music review site you might like that is exclusively run by musicians. We cover a lot of unsigned and local bands and do a complete rig run down on their recording process. If you search my name, Ada Wofford, and My Little Underground it should pop up.
