  • As a realtor, I see a lot of kitchens. 60s electrical systems, 70s colors, 80s layouts, 90s cabinets. Kitchens are often the focal point of a house. I know it's where I spend most of my time! So a quality kitchen is a top priority for many buyers. But if your dream home needs a kitchen face lift, it might be an easier fix than you think.

    Pretty cool. I saved a ton of money by going with a prefab quartz countertop for $500. Made the cutouts for the sink and induction cooktop myself using a grinder, drill and sander.

    One of my concerns with Ikea kitchens is that they discontinue styles every few years. You mentioned that a damaged door can't be repainted. What if a door gets damaged after the style is no longer available?

  • @willowriverranch7965
    @willowriverranch7965 2 года назад +2

    How do the insides of the cabinets hold up? In the past, we’ve build the cabinets. With lumber prices being so high, we’re looking at alternatives. Unfortunate timing, this house is our final remodel as it’s the one we’ll likely be staying in, so I’m very interested to know how the carcasses hold up. We’ll build our own doors and drawer faces when lumber goes down, but the current cabinets are falling apart and need replaced ASAP. Thanks!

    • @ahomeinSeattle
      @ahomeinSeattle  2 года назад

      I think they're great. I don't like the toe kicks, so you should plan on building those custom as well, but the carcasses are pretty sturdy with the only weak point being the back panel. It folds so that it can be packed and is kind of cheap feeling and flexible.

    Hi, I'd like to know how the cabinets are holding up after almost a year using it. Since you mentioned that it's always raining there, I figured it might be somewhat similar to a humid climate that I'm living in, so I was worried that a particleboard cabinet might get bloated over time.

    • @ahomeinSeattle
