my gosh, you are so talented! I know nothing about cameras, so I had no idea that film making and physics go hand in hand!!!! I am so intrigued! You are AMAZING!
Hey Daniel, since you’re slowing down most of these shots, are you recording 60 FPS or above for these scenes? I know as a filmmaker they say you should know what scenes you want to slow down and where you would have to bump up your frame rate. But is there a sweet spot where you can continuously shoot in a single frame rate and still be able to slow it down later if you decide to in post?
I love all of your work so much!!! Your channel is the best on youtube for me, for how "simple", clear, practical, beautiful absolutely amazing information it is! I'm so greatful to you!!
Don't use Slog2 in dark scenes. If you want to use Slog2 properly it needs to be overexposed with 2.0 stops. You can see it on the bottom of your camera screen.
When in your subtitles you put something along the lines of “key frame y”. What do you mean by that. Are you adding motion to it or are you kind of stabilizing the clip?
Make it yourself!! You'll learn so much more. Plus, it's custom. You don't have to worry about sounds being out of sync. Buy a cheap $150 audio recorder and build your own library! I wander around my house at 1 in the morning with an audio recorder recording random stuff. I look ridiculous, but it works.
Great b roll but personally I think all the transitions and flipping doesn’t really correspond with the music and vibe that the video is (I think) trying to portray. Idk just trying to think of all the facets 🤷🏽♂️
I'm with you on this man. It's not that this video doesn't look great (it does), it's more or less that the execution of the visual elements don't really complement the music in some ways. Some of the moves could have been much simpler and still be just as good if not better for the final product. But hey, he still killed this video regardless.
Really appreciate that you break down every aspect of your videos and actually explain every step of the video and editing process. Look forward to your content more than McKinnon's to be honest 👍🏻

Daniel, a quick question: When I shoot slog2 120p I get noise, and it makes the shot virtually unusable, what settings do you use for slow motion?
Don't use Slog2 in dark scenes. If you want to use Slog2 properly it needs to be overexposed with 2.0 stops. You can see it on the bottom of your camera screen.
