I like the fact that you're actually showing your raw footage from the camera and how you're getting the movements.
Same here. Subbed.
Me too.
same! best video!
Imagine people making a “day in my life” or “morning routine” in a cinematic style like this that would be sick
That would be so cool! But imagine how long it would take to film! it would be more like a day in my life filmed for 2 weeks and edited for 3 weeks hahaha
Peter McKinnon does it
It would be like dexter serie opening
Persephone hahah true
Cesare Parmiggiani i had to look that up cause ive never seen it but i guess kinda yes, but with cool editing skills and less creepy haha
He ain’t filming, he’s skating his camera around the set like in a park 🛹 Big Talent
But skating isnt smooth. Theres a lot of falling

Loved the sound effects but also the music rhythm and how the elements were strategically put with the beat. Wow!
LOVE IT MATE! Its awesome to see your take on this. So interesting to see how others work and you killed it!
James your video was awesome bro.. Please make video on how you edited that...that will complete the circle
Like you both, guys.
Guys thank you both for all the knowledge and inspiration that you share with us! 🙏🏻✌🏻
Watched your video mate. Why u call my name every time you start ? “What’s going on yu loong? “
Love your videos man! Fave!
First shot done in 20 minutes. And ppl still think that youtubers do a 3 minute video in 5 lol
@@robertbear1718 B Roll to me is what you send the assistant off to record when they're standing around with nothing to do. Back when it was film, you used up every foot because you were paying to get it developed anyway, so might as well see what else you could scrounge on location.
@@robertbear1718 blah blah blah... call it whatever you want, skill is skill, and skill pays.
This is the first video in 4k that I'm actually watching on my new laptop, THIS IS INSANE! Such talent Daniel!

Wow!!! The most exotic thing for me to use the angle and movement of the camera to transitions from one frame to another with a smooth flow. As well as Sound, which has been designed perfectly and flows smoothly with the image and it will appeal to you from the first minute to the end of the clip. Enjoyed the tips. Thanks!
THIS IS SO COOL!
I am not even through with that video but it gives me so many ideas for the food videos i want for the channel i am starting! Amazing
Thanks :)
TUTORIALS : Would you please be so kind and show the SoundScape of this video - all of the post production process... the music, the sound effects - thank you.

Yeah that would be nice. Where you get the sound effects and how you edit it. Thanks!
Can you talk about the camera settings? Keeping focus, etc. Thanks!
It‘s just so satisfying watching your videos and kinda be part of the whole process of your work.

Awesome stuff, well done for trying it yourself and shouting out James, he's a legend! I liked both of the videos to be honest, both look great! Now I want to do it too.. :)
I love the shots. It inspires me and I spontaneously got my camera and filmed my breakfast like this.
I am interested in how you are editing such smooth transitions. I know part of it is in camera, but it's cool how you are combing speed ramping and motion blur to make them so seamless. I'd love to see a tutorial on how that is done.
This is so good! Love how intentional with your camera movements you are! Definitely something I can learn from
Hey Daniel, Great you gave credit to the one who inspired you... I love run & gun with minimal equipment & this rocked - Thank you for taking time to share your behind the scenes. The really great thing about a tutorial like the one you just created is it makes me & I'm sure others feel "NOW I can do this !!! "
timing of the transition and the beats of the music are just amazing. I am a beginner and will try to match those and adopt some of the knowledge I gain from your vids in my next next vid. Thanks so much for sharing.
Easily the best b-roll I've ever seen. The part where the knife goes thru the cucumber with the words written everywhere... 🤯
LOVE THE VIDEO DANIEL!!!! Please show us how you did those cucumber and honey text effects!!!
Yes, that would be awesome!
It was just blending mode on white text
Brilliant. I would like a meta video. A video about made this video about making the video featured in this video.
Yes please
Luke's Life Yeah the floating particles and the cool text effects and shapes in the video would be awesome to look into !
Epic broll tutorial. Curtain closing skill level -100000
This is so great! Not only your shots, but also you are being modest. Great work!
Im in love with this video sooo much😭 I want to learn so much moreee
Thats awesome dude! I learned a lot in these few minutes.
That intro was AMAZING. I've watched it 8 times
Love how the way you shoot, edit, and make the music and video fit well!
This is amazing. Very nicely explained. Showing the raw footage just after the shot really give a clear view. Thanks.
Awesome work Daniel! Actually an other level of b-roll. Keep up creating such an amazing content :)
You don't need fancy equipment
So today we are using the Aputure 300D
A 1000 dollar light ... ok
:))) was thinking the same, if you can shoot 120fps in full hd it's also not a budget cam :)
You don,t need that light and you can shoot it on any camera that provides at least a 60fps option. The rest is up to you and it shows.
@@Leprutz thanks man, keep up the good work!
@@YKPKRTS I really mean it. I was so scared of all the skilled filmer on youtubebut actually it is not much. Just a few people with time and let them be your puppets for a day or two. It,s actuallypretty easy. I believe the difficutly is fiction with a story. All those mad filming and editing skills are very gimmicky. Looks nice and cool but it,s just practice. I am learning too.
To everyone saying the light and camera doesn't matter.
I'm sure it doesn't but it was still pretty silly to say "I want to show you don't need fancy equipment" and seconds later tell us that a 1000 dollar light is being used.
It's still a decent tutorial but why not actually use more common "equipment" if you're going to make a statement like "Don't need fancy equipment" or just don't say it if you're going to be using fancy equipment.
It's like "hey guys I'll show you how to do shots without a gimbal so you can save a few hundred dollars but lets use a 1000 dollar light to make that happen"
So satisfying to watch! 😍
Daniel you're on some serious levels bro, I enjoy every single video you post, keep up the amazing work!!
Can you do a tutorial of you you edited the SOUNDS from raw to final results!! PLEASE. Btw the video it’s amazing!
i really love this concept, especially the background music. everything looks just perfect and well organised to me.. I really admire this shot and love video editing more and more.. Daniel Schiffer u r a genius. Nice and neat work man. Keep inspiring us the young generation.. Much love from Africa (Sierra Leone)..... please help us with the editing aspect, color correction etc...
Omg that cucumber cut with the sound and music matching made my entire life.
BRO your behind the scenes videos are AWESOME AF! Thank you so much for that & please keep it going 😍👍👍👍
what's more impressive is the music that follows and seems almost composed for the shots. Is the music picked first, then creatively do you create shots knowing what the music is, or is the editing style adapted for what music is selected after the video is shot? Amazing creative talent you have dude!
Amazing tutorials, so glad I stumbled upon Peter's recent video featuring your work. Would love to see a video of you talking about how you use manual so well in videos, what aperture it's filmed at/best lens for this kind of work. I always struggle to keep moving things in focus with manual but you seem to ace it. Subscribed, love your videos man. Cheers!
Great stuff Daniel- your videos are quirky and enjoyable as well as educational. I'm subscribing 👏🏻
Daniel you’re so talented, keep up the good work!
Could you please make tutorial on the editing process? This would have been the most helpful thing. Great work!!
That girl is so happy to be here! 🤣
LOL. I've been watching the several vids by Daniel that cover this project and I always cringe when I see the way she holds her fingers while slicing. Just asking to cut herself. I know this is about style, not substance, and her finger nails are lovely, but it's still hard to watch.
For her IG
Its his girlfriend lol
Its hard work. That takes a long time and he has the gear. Sometimes it takes me days but i am learning and putting in work.
Some people didn't get the sarcasm 😅
Came from Pete's channel, love the art you're making. Haven't been this excited about a channel in a long time.
So creative, love all the work, really make things look easy and the wow on my face and the joy of learning start from the begining to the end
I'm going to shoot a video on a cake place right now, this video comes in the best moment. Always fantastic tips, thank you!!

dude this makes me want to get into film making
Hi Daniel, hello from Jakarta indonesia.
I want to say thank you for sharing this, I'm a 43 years old videographer. I just started last year. Making videos really helps me ride through hard times these recent years and your videos help me to get better.
I use this B-Roll style to shoot on my client's product even though I could only use 60fps because of my camera limitation (Fujifilm X-T20), It's a trike stroller.
It feels great to be able to mimic the shot, really inspires me.
Once again thanks so much.
this technique and filming really is awesome. thanks for shooting. Amazing work!
Yet another great video! I got a notification while I was watching James Matthews's version. It would be great to see editing tutorial for this one, as much as you describe while you filming it, it would be awesome to see how you nail seamless transitions between clips every time. Thanks in advance! Ps I am sure my GF will ask Sarah for the full recipe.
6:07 LOL. This is awesome! I would also like to see how you edited them as well.
Just as impressed by the salad as the footage. Great job, guys! Love this shooting style 🤟
That was cool to watch. Just investigating this b-roll stuff. Her nail color really added to the whole sequence.
Great video Daniel. Besides the excellent sound design, I would like to know how do you manage to get the right focus in those quick moves with distances changes from the subject in manual focusing only. At around 4min you go to three different distances. Narrow aperture? Amazing!!
I'm insanely in love with the video .... you are just great 😊😊😊
QUESTION: how to nail the focus everytime ???
He has done a video on this before
Just maintain your distance after you pull focus
@@TheFunnyCamGuy I couldn't find it, could you please tell the name of the video?
Had the same question. I tried my products and it gets outta focus everytime. High-F stop with high ISO?

well dang. I am inspired and my soul is renewed once again for the trade. Thank you my friend!!
You definitely added your own take! You only forgot to mention your gear, (lens) preference for shots like this. Looks like the 25mm f/2 Zeiss for anyone wondering. I could watch this and James version over and over! Pure excellence
Looks like the 40 f2. I have the lens, it's awesome.
Great video !! Dman that was a BIG learner :) Just curious about the focus. So good in manuel. i need to find the perfect aparture number hehe. Thanks for show !
This was so awesome dude. Super inspired by this!
Incredible! You are super talented. Thanks for sharing your skills with us!
Thanks !) You're really kind to share such great info!)
Thanks for watching Alexandr!
Love your work so much Daniel! How long would you say it took you to film this whole sequence? Also what text tool did you use for the Cucumber and Honey texts?
Killer video. Amazing!
Honestly, this is cool as hell. Thank you for sharing!
Damn, what's up with all these people complaining about knives, the girl, & equipment? Let it be. Enjoy the content. Be happy that he created this video. I learned a lot from this.
Yes, I'd like to learn more about the sound effects. Can you make a tutorial and teach us how to choose the best sound in which shot? Please do so, it's gonna be so useful.
Love It, love it…very creative 👏🏼
You are an absolute freaking master at this! Keep up the amazing work sir
I NEED THAT SUPREME STRAP WHERE DID YOU GOT THOSE FROM? AND HOW DO YOU NAIL THE FOCUS?
This was *dope.*
I would like a tutorial to elaborate how to handle the manual focus in such shots
i was gonna say how do you shoot these moves with manual focus cause it looks like its f1.8 or something like that ? ! hard in manual no ?
@@DLUXEDITS true. 😄
Thanks for sharing your talent. I like to learn from the best! 🙌🏼🙏🏽👊🏽
You’re too good man love you’re work
Did you select the music first and then shot according to it? or Did you shoot first and found a track that suits it? Which one comes first?
Music I think bcs it's eaier
You camera and lens definitely needs to have ibis and IS for this. Raw footage is so smooth
James shots with Canon lens in Sony body, so basically simple movements good pulse guys....
I love this! I wonder how I can do something like this for my gardening and houseplants!!
Dude love this!! Thanks for sharing the step by step, Subscribed.

Thanks man, you're a legend! :)
Hi, I'm searching your Song on epidemic sound, but I don't find It... May I know the title please?
Everyday when i see your video i get amazed with the way you produce.
so good!! I learn so much in your videos... I have been practice
3:19 i was about to say something.. and i realize you didnt ask us and im not in the room lol.
Immersion
I wonder what fstop u used shooting this in manual focus? and how you keep everything in focus the whole time with the movement?
Try to keep the distance the same when using MF. i saw the James Matthews and one of his replies said he was using an f stop of 4.5
Jack Tang thx man!
same thing here for me. He didn't seem like he was maintaining the same distance though.
If you watch his left hand he’s also racking focus while moving in some of the shots.
James just uploaded a video explaining how he focuses: ruclips.net/video/3PtSP6unqJw/видео.html
Thanks for making behind the scene video and sharing your knowledge. Appreciate it
Thank you for sharing all shooting and editing skills, learned a lot from your video. Also finishing my first cooking video. I proof my teacher i finally can learn something on RUclips.
Epic B-Roll and Epic Edit man. How in world do you keep focus though?? Are you pulling your own focus with your left hand!? Would love to see a tutorial on that!
my question exactly.
Well he said manual focus so yeah
Looks like he’s actually setting the focus point before hand actually
Clearly there are only so many options but we’re curious which he used in this specific scenario
1 questions, where i can get the 'sound effect' like that on the video, like sound of knife, flames, the liquid, and other? Can you share link for download? 😁
This! I have been searching for a couple hours and can't find anything similar.
Love your work mate ! Totally amazing!
Wow this is very smooth!!
Is it on manual focus or auto focus? I'dont know if my cam can lock on the focus with this kinda movement.
For these kind of shots, always manual focus. Pre-focus at the end point, and then move the camera from start to end, things will be in perfect focus.
Brilliant now I’m going into the kitchen and going to make my cereal look epic 😁
Fire 🔥...The food looks bomb too!

6:38 what did he do to get that amazing glow in the honey? Adjust levels, increase color temp and a little saturation? Any special trick? Amazing work!
A lamp was behind it
No - it's in front. The "glow" is actually the reflection of the lamp (Aputure 300D)
