man corey glover is such an underrated singer fucking awesome performance the whole band are brilliant too
I was soooo stoked when Corey toured with another fav Galactic. The whole band here is nuts. His vocals are unreal.

@@tomhill9066 that was a great interview very unexpected way back then! When Neil passed Will did an amazing interview, I think it was on Twitter... he spoke about how he was invited by Neil to a rush concert and he spent the whole day with him and his son it was priceless🎆
Not only are they incredible musicians, but their songs are socially relevant, about real life, real struggles and real victories. That is sorely lacking in today’s music.
Isn't it a pity how the media hype up so many mediocre artists and enormously talented bands like LIVING COLOR are not praised as one of the greatest bands to emerge in the past three decades
I was supposed to go to see motley Crue two days ago till I watched a few live shows! They were so horrible I sold my tickets but will be going to see living colour next month indeed!
Steve Taylor Good choice! I walked out on Motley Crew a few years ago. Scorpions were opening, so I saw them, and tried to stick around for the Crew, but I couldn't take it. Horrible.

What Corey Glover does on " Everything that goes around it comes around" it phrase is exceptional showing he is one of the best singers in the history of music . What a kick ass band.
i have always been totally blown away by the talent these guys have, it just literally flows from each one of them to create something so fucking good, everytime i watch them, i have a giant smile on my face from the ridiculous talent they possess

So true. I have all of their albums on which (almost) every piece is good. These musicians are really awesome and they should have been more recognized for their raw talent.
Well they're touring again so who knows?

Amazing!!!! I first heard LC about 20 years ago. Back then I never REALLY understood their music. Problem was I was listening my "ears" and not my heart. Watching Cory on the closing song being speechless made me realise how trivial words can be when they have the abilty to convey the way they do through music.
I love the way they played drum and solo guitar....
I was there ... unforgettable. - revisited in 2022 - I still cry when hearing 41 shots - as I did at the concert. I worked at the gig, so I usually have a professional distance to the performance, but that was not possible in any way with the performance of this song. The most honest interepretation of any song I have ever seen in my life. It still moves me 21 years later and will possibly do the rest of my life.

Living Colour is one of the greatest bands that I have ever had the good fortune to see live. Easily the most underated band in history. Love 'em!!

I wore up their album Time's Up back in the day. Never saw them live but they have an undeniably powerful energy. They are monster musicians and artists.

Hell yeah they brought the Hendrix! "With The Power" I was hoping they'd do their version of "The Burning of the Midnight Lamp" but I'll definitely settle for this anyday.
Absolutely fucking brilliant. I remember this coming out and being stunned all those years ago in London!!!!!!!!!!!! Stunning, intelligent rock played by supremely talented black guys as good as any white band ive ever seen. Truly,color should not be an issue, but these guys are utterly spellbinding! I wish there was more like them !!!! Such an amazing amalgum of styles. Even Zappa would be proud of this..........................................its all in there and more besides

@timesup73 I always thought this was all that was broadcast (I have it on a DVD that doesn't indicate it's part 2), but after finding a couple of other videos of the show on RUclips, I guess you are right! I changed the title to second half, thanks for the info.
i love this festival, the bands always seem to go for it and indulge themselves , ive been 6 times and never failed to be impressed. i think neil young was my favorite, his set seemed tailor made for my taste, did he know i was coming? and living colour are brilliant despite what closed minded non traveled musically illexposed people say.

Some people actually complain about the guitar solos are you kidding one if the best guitarist ever is it to inovative for you go somewhere else for bland
I think the musicality was there, but for a lot of people, it just gets lost in the artist's (in this case, Vernon's) passion and energy. I can understand that, and have been there myself. On one hand, you can call him ignorant for not catering to the audience, but perhaps the audience will appreciate his energy more than the musicality, it being there or not. But I agree that he's great.
Because his solos sound like noise.
To some maybe. He plays in various styles depending on the song, but he often plays very angular structures with both precision and then veering into near dissonant , overdriven distorted chaos, but always "in time" which should be the first indicator that theres more going on.

Thing about Vernon is that there was a real show off speed trend around the time they got big. And just taking that aspect of the playing, Vernon always has soul in every note. He isn't just fast or "technical" there is heart in everything he plays.
But yeah it is like that time Hockey got briefly big and to help people understand it, they drew an orange circle around the puck for home TV watchers, so Americans could follow the game, because if you didn't grow up watching hokey, the puck is so dang small.
