Your best bet is to find local freight, short haul. Very short haul. Plan your loads by the hour, depending on miles actually required to run. There are jobs out there that require a truck to babysit a warehouse, or simply shuttle trailers around a yard. Yes, shuttle trailers like a yard jockey with your OTR tractor. Amazon pays roughly $1000 to $1200 for ten hours of work in their DCs, simply moving trailers to and from the doors. In that ten hours, you may only move a dozen trailers, if that. It is nice seeing a healthy settlement and only burning 100 gallons of fuel in an entire week. ;-)
Fuel is around $5 in North Carolina right now. It was $4.50 last week. So fuel is going back up at the moment.
Fuel prices are killing trucking company margins. On top of that, rates are still pretty low. Crazy hard times right now but if anyone can handle this, it’s truckers!
Just found this page 2 days ago and I’m already writing everything down I really appreciate the videos man, 21 y/o diesel tech hoping to run a little fleet in a few years
This man is good I love the it
I’m in business as truck driver, this gentleman all he said IT IS TRUE, keep sharing your knowledge and info Gill, tnks🤝
Thank you, Gill22, for all your videos and wisdom. i am new to the market trying to get established with my LLC.
1) can you kindly explain how to work out drivers' wages.
2) how to get both IB & OB loads at the same time from the load board
Used one route to calculate an average for a whole week (multiple deliveries). My logic is telling me not to waste my time on your videos.
I love his approach 💯💯💯Information is gold itself and RUclips provides a lane 💯beware of those tryna give u a crumb and sale you a course 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿don’t fall for the OOPTY WHOP🧐
For those talking about not including truck payments and insurance, the title refers to how He makes that much. Those are variables equated to Gill22. He gave an estimate on it but can't be specific because every driver is different.
Awesome video. Looking forward to the next one about finding direct shipper freight.
Ur a good honest man i can tell
When’s the dispatcher university launching bro? Already paid and signed up but waiting for the course to start.
Did you have a response already? Do you know if you can do it on your own time?

I earned 7BTC with an investment of €20,000, thanks to Mrs. Jennifer Ferguson's strategy.
I don't mean this offensively,so forgive me if it comes off this way. But are you a double broker?
Swift example payment 2300 tires 350+ more for road call with s/s most profs are tight, some independents are just breaking even now.
need guidance on direct loads or please on dedicated lanes how i can find dedicated lanes
need your help man, I’m a owner op with 2 trucks and I’m struggling to find work in CA, I’m Getting ready to throw the towel.
Don’t do it , I just got into it as well
So you found a dedicated lane. I already know this is a way to make good money
Keep up the good work… great videos 👍🏼
Hey man, great video! I appreciate the knowledge you're providing all of us. Can you show us how to get dedicated lanes like this one? I'm based out of Indianapolis and looking for something similar. Thank you!
Thank you for being so informative
Thanks for the info ❤
450 miles is a one way trip without going over hours of service. But if this is a box truck, where does the driver sleep?
He said he runs the lane six days a week, not six times a week. 2600 miles a week is, if anything, a pretty light work week. Also it's not a box truck.
I’m looking to get my cdl within the next 2-4 months. It’s so nice to find this channel that is located in the Midwest where I would like to continue living.
Do you have any advice about how to go from square one to working for a good company like yours?
You don’t need a cdl to start boxing
Yeah put your year in with a rookie otr company, that's all you need to know and do. You'll figure out the rest over that 12 months. I started driving when I was 23 and I'm 31 now. Generally after that 1st year a lot of doors will open up. Stay with that 1 company and learn the trade, then worry about branching out.
Please make video on how to secure contracts with shippers.
When i get the money i plan on starting a box trucking business. Thanks bro!
When starting a business and not employing anyone else just yet, how do you determine the amount to "pay yourself" as you mention (around 3:20 mins in)?
Hey you briefly mentioned factoring companies in calculating your cost per mile. I drive company so this has never really been a concern to be but it seems like they are essentially payday lenders for owner ops who can't keep enough reserve capital to run their business correctly.
From what I understand it's more that each payment normally takes 30 days to hit a company bank account normally. The factoring company just buys that from you and pays you upfront for it at a premium. That way you get paid instantly for your jobs. I think that works better than waiting 30 days
@@PermanentHigh A 5% fee for 30 days is a 60% APY for the factoring company they seem to be in a good business helping us drivers.
@@griffinemerson8475 5% us not bad
What are the benefits costs? Please and thank you. I want to give my future drivers benefits and have no clue what that would be.
Edit: ALSO! What are the ghost miles per week. A ratio would be great. Like for 2,000 driven miles what would be average ghost miles? Thank you so much.
How can we find dedicated lines like that?
He can’t it’s probably a short term contract but he’s pretending it’s normal.
I’ll go public and bet him $1,000 this is BS!
CALL MY BET!
Thanks for the video. Is there any good tax export/accountant that you know of?
I only have 2 trucks for now. I’m planning add couple trucks this year
nice video !!!
First Here!!!
so i make $30k a year working with a company. 50 cents per mile. if i switch over to a box truck with my own llc, will i make more? that is of course assuming i run 5 days a week, and the market is medium ish busy.
How i can talk to u
Hello gill how do get in touch with you. Or us that possible
In your opinion is lease dry & Reffer trailers lucrative?
Can you do the dispatch course on your on time or how does it work?
hey new dispatcher here, looking for owner operators to work with for 1% gross revenue for first month.
What are your truck requirements?
Thanks
This is not correct and don’t fall for it’s just make video more interesting. No dispatch fee, no truck payment very low insurance. Thus not typical trucking company and forget about this one in a 100 trucks that make money bc use old ass equipment and not paying for anything
Ssa gill 22 main saprinter van business start karna ki tusi dispatch de sakde o
👍 impressive
Honestly, that is a crappy lane. Just hope the load is not too heavy 🤣
Does the load board you use let you filter loads by weight? For example if I only wanted to look at load with a 20,000 lb weight max do they have filters you can set that will only show 20000 lb load?
Yes they do!
Do you need your own authority to apply for the owner operator position or the company driver position?
Nope!
Ummm...having no TRUCK PAYMENT is a game changer. WHile this vid just talks about the revenue side, any future vid should 10000% include truck payments since 95% of all worthy trucks are highly leveraged these days.
WTH bro you look like Zlatan Ibrahimović
Who edits ur videos?
good
Bro plz reply
Of course he is gonna put big fat $.00 zero for truck payment.
Hey gill would you be open to mentorship or just zooms classes when your free
