Our country has always been stable because of the military who bear the brunt of many ungrateful civilians and protecting us......The Military carries us upon its shoulder and we civilians are mostly cut off from this reality....We are more inclined towards celebrities, comfort zones and politics while the soldier stands at the border forming the outermost layer of security.. Every soldier is elite in itself.....The military history, the legendary men and officers.... special force operatives, military engineering, aviation, medical corp and what not ...

I disagree. India and China started off at a similar level of poverty in 1950s. Look where they are now and where we are. China is considered as a high- middle income country while India is a low- Middle income one. An average chinese citizen is more than double as rich as us. The “DESPITE INNEFFICIENCES” you have said, goes a long way. We are still by many metrics a third world country as a whole. States like Kerala, Tamil Nadu did well under democratic rule. But not Bihar or UP. So it’s kinda mixed whether democracy succeeded or not. It certainly is not the best form of governance, nor is it the worst. Its just one of the many forms of governance.

One of which was when APJ Abdul Kalam sir met him in Military hospital wellington.. He said that he was not getting his pension for past 20 yrs only when president asked him is there anything you need on my behalf.. ( reason may be cold war between him and the erstwhile PM while he was in service).
