This movie and Brave seem to have troubled production honestly, like I remembered looking at Disney Wiki and there’s a different cast, Bob Peterson was directing it, and there’s a different poster and then all of the sudden they changed it.
This is a great summary. I'm like you and grew up with movies like land before time, Flintstones and Jurassic Park, and would have gone to see the original vision for this with the awesome funny voice cast in a heartbeat. I've actually never seen this movie because the trailers made the storyline look really boring, generic and probably only for young children, and the reviews did nothing to make me feel otherwise. I honestly don't care if the visuals are good if the storyline is terrible. I'd much rather sit through an indie film with less polish on the visuals but a great, engaging story and cast. I hope the original director has the last laugh after they fired him for trying to do something with vision. All the big companies now seem to just want paint the numbers to tick boxes that have made other movies work and get something generic and uninteresting in the process because there is no passion or creativity to motivate the people making it.
The character designs were clearly formulated to sell toys to young kids (oh more accurately the parents of young kids). The movie makers cared more about merchandise sales than ticket sales
It's a funny thing about computer graphics: sometimes it can get a bit too easy to make things realistic, and then you give yourself a hard time making things appealing and consistent. The animators on Shrek ran into this and had to dial the realism back on Fiona because the early attempts looked too good to fit with the rest of the setting.
I agree with this movie being a flop. If it was more like a serious movie like National Geographic and showed what evolved Dinosaurs might've looked like, (like in the TV series the Future is Wild), then the movie might've been more successful. Might.
Did you just mention that The Good Dinosaur wasn't avatar twice right next to each other in the same video? I think you did and it sounded a little weird.
I like this channel but I'm curious, it an AI channel? The editing is a bit too polished, it would take someone ages to find all those random movie clips 😂
@ToonOfficialYT wow your work is impressive! I seriously couldn't tell because the editing is super smooth and my lazy self can't imagine how long it would take to put together. Keep up the good work!
The dinosaurs elbows being backwards drives me insane
Visually i disliked it. Too much realism combined with very ugly and cartoonish character models. They didn't look like they belong
Plus the characters elbows were backwards. They aren’t supposed to bin out away from the body. They are meant to bend in.
On the upside, this director did get to make his own movie in due time with Elemental.
Bro this was my childhood😭😭
Mine too😭😭😭😭😭😭
Ashame it was a flop. I actually liked The Good Dinosaur. 🦖🦕
@@elmono6299 same. It was a great movie imo.
Agreed, still one of my favorite movies.

REALLY makes you wonder what Bob Peterson's movie would've been! I bet it would've been infinitely better.
I feel like it was because of inside out releasing the same year ("we dont have time for that") as well as boring plot

8:13 - 8:51 You pretty much said the same statement twice there.
Yeah I thought I accidentally rewinded here.
It's read by AI ...
we still have Bob Anderson - if he creates it as a book or the screenplay then submit to Dreamworks or Illumination
It's sad how underrated this film
Thanks for sharing the story.
Good review.
A Green Dinosaur and a kid that sounds familiar
i loved this movie ngl and my baby sis was OBSESSED with it
Did you just mention that The Good Dinosaur wasn't avatar twice right next to each other in the same video? I think you did and it sounded a little weird.
I am glad I didn't see this movie in the theater. Dinosaur 2000 is WAY better
There’s also The Land Before Time (the franchise and especially the standalone movie). 😊
The good dinosaur was a very good movie it took morals discipline and believing in yourself
I never watched this movie.

Oooh man I wish. I've been working for weeks on this, but I'll take it as a compliment? 😂
