BRO I had the biggest Bolt hyperfixiation when I was eight years old. It bothers me how this movie never gets mention in conversation surrounding underrated Disney movies
Yeah Bolt is one of those movies that would be hard to make a good sequel. Like it ended with Bolt being a normal dog, how would they make a good sequel after the adventure ended?
I honestly don’t think it needs a sequel? What’s there to tell? Bolt’s barnyard adventures? If anything I think we should get a Disney Plus series of the show he starred in with Penny
[The video starts with a peaceful, mountainous background. All is calm until sudden rockets and explosions light up the scene. The RED Scout and the RED Demoman hurriedly escape from the chaos behind them. The two mercenaries are badly hurt, with the Demoman on a wheelchair with a broken arm and a cast on his head. The Scout has casts on his torso.] Scout: "Move, Cyclops, move! Come on, come on, almost- [Demoman wheels his wheelchair and Scout runs. They are making ground when the Scout gets hit by a rocket.] [The Scout falls, grunting in pain. He then looks behind him to see rockets aiming at him.] Scout: "Woah, who the FU-!" [He then gets hit by the three missiles. The Scout screams as the rockets fling him onto the Medic's glass wall. He faceplants and breaks the glass. One of Medic's doves looks at Scout. He speaks feebly.] "Medic.." ["Meet the Medic" text appears] [The Scout falls slowly from the window, the camera then zooms out onto the RED Medic's surgery on the RED Heavy.] Heavy: "[Laughing loudly.]" Medic:"When the patient woke up, his skeleton is missing, and the Doctor was never heard from again!" [Medic laughs loudly alone. Half a second later, Heavy laughs with him as he slaps his hand on a tray knocking away the tools on it.] Medic: "Anyway, that's how I lost my medical license. [He chuckles, and a dove bursts out of Heavy's chest. He scolds the bird.] "Archimedes, no! It's filthy in there!" [He wipes his hand on his vest and looks at Heavy for a second, who looks a tad offended,] "Ugh, birds." [He chuckles and grabs the Heavy's heart.] Medic: "Now, most hearts couldn't withstand this voltage, [He places the heart onto an Über heart attachment and moves toward his built in Medigun.] but I'm very certain your heart-" [Heavy's heart explodes, catching the Medic off guard. One of the heart's remains knock Archimedes off their perch.] Heavy: "What was noise?" Medic: "The sound of progress my friend." [Medic goes to his fridge as the crescendo of "A Little Heart to Heart" plays. The fridge contains a Sandvich, the RED Engineer's beer, and three hearts. The heart in the middle is labeled "Loch Ness Hamster." The one on the right is a "Mega Baboon."] Medic: "Ja, Perfect!" [Medic takes the "Mega Baboon," revealing a BLU Spy's head being connected to a electrical battery.] BLU Spy Head: "Kill Me." Medic: [Quietly.] "Later." [Closes fridge.] Medic: "Where was I? Ah, There we go..." [Sticks heart onto a voltage meter. Places it to where the Medigun is pointing and the heart beats faster and glows red.] Medic: Come on, come on. [The violin/string instrument in background gets faster in sync with the heart.] Medic: "[Begins laughing evilly.]" Heavy: "Ha... ha... ha..." [Looks worried.] [A flash of light covers the screen.] Medic: "[Continues laughing evilly. But he stops and looks away from the sudden bright light.]" [Archimedes flies back to his post with the other doves] [The big heart is Übercharged, as it glows red with red-orange glows that look like silhouette cracks flowing.] Medic: "Oh, that looks good. Very nice there!" [Drops heart into Heavy's chest cavity.] Heavy: "Should I be awake for this?" Medic: "Heh, well, no. But, as long as you are could you open your rib cage for me? I can't seem to-" [As Medic and Heavy hold open Heavy's rib cage, they hear a loud crack and Heavy screams and reveals a broken rib in his hand.] Heavy: "[Screams in pain.]" Medic: "Aww, don't be such a baby. Ribs grow back!" [Medic takes the rib and throws it away. Turns around and talks to Archimedes.] Medic: [Whispering] "No they don't." [Archimedes is puzzled. He eventually flies away.] [Medic takes the mounted Medigun and brings it closer to Heavy. His organs and guts all regenerate including his shirt and vest. Heavy smiles. There is a faint red glow in Heavy's chest, but it fades quickly.] Heavy: [Takes a deep breath.] "What happens now?" Medic: "Now?" [Chuckles while lifting Heavy up by the hands.] "Let's go practice medicine." [As Medic dresses up and equips his tools, a drum plays in the background. He comes out of a door with shining light behind him and his doves flying out. The TF2 Soundtrack, MEDIC!, starts with the choir harp.] [As Medic comes out, Heavy runs forward. Demoman rushes towards Medic in a wheelchair and wrapped in bandages. The other RED mercenaries are either hiding or hurt badly. Scout is on the ground, trying to stand, while Engineer and Sniper are hiding behind a rock. A wave of BLU Soldiers rushes toward them in the background.] Demoman: "MEDIC!" [The Medic flinches as the Demoman gets hit with a rocket sending him flying and landing near Medic. Medic pushes his glasses up and flips a switch on the Medigun, then aims it at Demoman healing him. Demoman gets up whilst removing his cast and bandages. He then quickly nods at Medic and heads back towards battle. Medic spots Scout on the ground and goes to heal him as well. Scout gets off the ground, healing his (most likely broken) nose, his black eye, and he regrows a broken tooth.] Scout: "Yeah! Woo hoo!" [Scout springs back up grabbing his baseball bat and runs into the battlefield past the Heavy. He hits a BLU Soldier with it around a corner.] Scout: "Oh, yeah!" [Heavy is hiding behind a rock with an army of BLU Soldiers wearing different cosmetics advancing towards him.] Heavy: [Yelling] "Doctor! Are you sure this will work?" Medic: [Yelling] "[Laughs maniacally.] I have no idea!" [Medic flips a few switches on his Medigun revealing a volt meter that goes to Übercharge. He aims it at Heavy while he gets out of cover.] Heavy: "[Yells with glee. He is enjoying the Übercharge's effects.]" [Heavy turns red with a glassy/shiny texture as his eyes turn yellow. The camera shows his heart pumping fast and is redder than usual.] [Heavy walks towards the army shooting his minigun. A couple of rockets hit him and covers the screen in smoke.] [But the Heavy walks forward unharmed in his Übercharged state.] Heavy,: "[Laughs loudly.] I am bullet-proof!" [Heavy and Medic walk forwards while it shows Sniper and Engineer hiding behind a rock showing surprise to Heavy's invincibility. Medic and Heavy both advance while Heavy mows down the enemy Soldiers whilst absorbing their rockets.] [It then shows the bodies of the dead Soldiers trying to stop the Heavy and Medic to no avail.] [Heavy and Medic climb a mound of corpses, Heavy specifically stepping on a Soldier wearing the cosmetic 'Armored Authority'.] [The music crescendos as they climb up and it keeps its pitch when they reach the top. At the top Medic is posing in front of a glowing light while Heavy is slightly below him and to the right of the screen mowing down more enemies. Medic removes his beam from Heavy, but he is still Übercharged. Medic's doves fly around the Medic and Heavy's triumph.] [Team Fortress 2 ending flourish music plays.] [Cut to most of the team sitting outside of Medic's Lab, waiting for the Übercharge implant. With Bolt in particular there is no unfinished business so it would feel forced. Bolt retired from acting and his owners walked away from acting. What else is there to do. The other movies that got sequels had unfinished business. Inside Out had the puberty button, in Increibles Supers still weren't legal and they could still fight crime. Then again I thought Toy Story was complete and there wasn't more to do so what do I know.
I agree. While the movie does deserve more love and attention. A sequel is unnecessary. We have the Rhino short and that's enough for sequels and spin-offs.
Toy Story 5s plot was just the show the competition of today’s electronics to toys, after that there’s nothing left to do with that franchise, but yea bolt doesn’t really need another sequel I don’t see any plot that wouldn’t feel forced as a continuation

Bolt was definitely forever be forever one of my favorite movies. Although, Blot should not have squeal. Because Megamind. Especially when it comws down to many shows quality right now, it would not be best.
Bolt is such an underrated movie. It deserves so much more public love. Adding Meet the Robinson's in here too because of the lukewarm reception remark. Both movies are amazing
brilliantly put together video!! i'm one of the OGs of the Bolt community from its release and this movie shaped me as an individual lowkey. it's still my # 1 favourite movie and i dont need to explain why, your video does it perfectly. i collect merchandise, i draw him often, it's my biggest hyperfix and always will be!! HOWEVER. we know Disney, their marketing teams and numbers and whatnot, as much as it breaks my heart to say, it's unlikely they'll continue anything with Bolt as a property. absolutely shreds me up cus i would love NOTHING MORE than new Bolt content, i went absolutely apeshit over the small snippet the trio got in Once Upon a Disney, truly many directions they could take it!! but they probably wont :( it took them 10yrs to do an Incredibles sequel and that's an insanely beloved pixar property, the chances of Bolt getting any sort of revival beyond the consistent release of new pins (i cant keep up man, i'm not Disney park local by any means scalpers are ruining everything for us) and a dedicated cult classic community that which i'm part of, there's not much else for us now sadly 😭 outside of the occassional new video essay so thanks for some new Bolt content by proxy 🧡💛
If Bolt were to get an _actual_ sequel TV series that takes place within the movie's Show Within A Show, _that would be great, that would be amazing._ That would be the _best possible thing._ 😁.
ONE OF MY FAVORITES. I used to have a crush on Penny for a little bit back then. I do think it deserves a sequel, just as long as it’s not flopped like Megamind’s sequel did.
I don't want a sequel. This movie ended perfectly. I mean, it was compared to The Truman Show, and we shouldn't get a sequel to that. Bolt ended similarly. Everything is solved. We don't need a sequel. All that's left is whatever you headcanon. Leave it up to the viewer's imagination
Fun Fact : in the ending, we see "bolt" Series with new actor and alien thing, rhino who is bolt number 1 fans claimed the movie sucks, basically this scene predict about cashgrab sequel movie, what more ironic is the antagonist of this film is penny agent who want to milking the series, he dont care about penny or bolt, he only care about money, even after penny and bolt quit, he simply replace them both with new actors They already give you what the sequel will look like and im glad they didnt do it, bolt is one of disney greatest masterpiece and i dont want them to touch bolt
To be completely fair though, I mean where else could the story go? Everything was wrapped up nice and neatly in a neat little bow. I feel a sequel would only take away from such a good ending
I'm happy that Bolt never got a sequel because it was one of those times where a movie didn't need a sequel to end the story (like Frozen did (to name an example), which is why I won't watch Frozen 3 and Frozen 4, because for me the story is over).
Bolt 2 - Bolt knows how to ACT like a hero... he just doesn't have the gear/powers. Bolt, Penny, and bunch of special effects guys tackle a real villain somewhere! =)
Remember watching this again when I was 8 such a great movie I love and for the sequel I think it's best to let it be Bec another thing we need is for Disney milking this movie to the bone like their doing to toy story, Shrek, fast and furious etc I think it's what makes this movie better but however i do find it sad that it's very unpopular to the community like I don't think bolt was mentioned in 100 Anniversary for Disney
I too really want a sequel for bolt, but I feel like it would be too far pushed. I just can’t help but feel like there is nowhere else to fit in story in the future of the bolt universe. Now however what could work better would be a prequel story, it could explore how Penny and bolt got involved with the show and what it was like for the two of them to go through that. Although it would likely work better as like a tv show or a short film.
I personally feel the opposite I think Bolt doesn’t need a sequel it was made in an era of Disney when they keep moving forward and focus on both new stories and sequels (strait through DVD), though it was a intresting era before they acquired Marvel Studios and Lucasfilms!
Some films shouldn't have sequels. Bolt is a great story. it told everything it could. sequels in this case could only add an unpleasant smell to it, as many Disney sequels did in the past. stories should be told, and ended, not squeeze as much as you can.
I think maybe they might revisit Bolt one day but I think why it didn't get more movies is simple as at that point Disney rarely made theatrical sequels at that point there had only been the Rescuers and while they have been more it has been much more recently and mostly off of revival works and not the experimental era. Now you might say why not direct to dvd sequel well that one also has a reason and that was John Lasseter as he hated the drop in quality the films got and he canceled many of their projects because of quality with the seven dwarfs movie and Tinker Bell movies being what they did after with the seven dwarfs film being canceled for some behind the scenes reason. So that option is also out for Bolt. Also the fact it is an experimental era film also doesn't help it as unless it is Lilo & Stitch it often gets ignored (we need justice for the Emperor's New Groove).
Literally just make a tv show thats literally the fake show bolt escaped from in the movie. It could be like a prequel or something. Itd be fun to watch.

I thought it was heavily implied that supers WERE legalized at the end of the first movie? And the sequel just decided to retcon it?

Bolt was definitely forever be forever one of my favorite movies. Although, Blot should not have squeal. Because Megamind. Especially when it comws down to many shows quality right now, it would not be best.
I watched Bolt when I was a kid and I loved it so much. That movie is very underrated. I sometimes rewatch it on Disney Plus.

brilliantly put together video!! i'm one of the OGs of the Bolt community from its release and this movie shaped me as an individual lowkey. it's still my # 1 favourite movie and i dont need to explain why, your video does it perfectly. i collect merchandise, i draw him often, it's my biggest hyperfix and always will be!!
HOWEVER. we know Disney, their marketing teams and numbers and whatnot, as much as it breaks my heart to say, it's unlikely they'll continue anything with Bolt as a property. absolutely shreds me up cus i would love NOTHING MORE than new Bolt content, i went absolutely apeshit over the small snippet the trio got in Once Upon a Disney, truly many directions they could take it!! but they probably wont :( it took them 10yrs to do an Incredibles sequel and that's an insanely beloved pixar property, the chances of Bolt getting any sort of revival beyond the consistent release of new pins (i cant keep up man, i'm not Disney park local by any means scalpers are ruining everything for us) and a dedicated cult classic community that which i'm part of, there's not much else for us now sadly 😭

I don't want a sequel. This movie ended perfectly. I mean, it was compared to The Truman Show, and we shouldn't get a sequel to that. Bolt ended similarly. Everything is solved. We don't need a sequel. All that's left is whatever you headcanon. Leave it up to the viewer's imagination

Fun Fact : in the ending, we see "bolt" Series with new actor and alien thing, rhino who is bolt number 1 fans claimed the movie sucks, basically this scene predict about cashgrab sequel movie, what more ironic is the antagonist of this film is penny agent who want to milking the series, he dont care about penny or bolt, he only care about money, even after penny and bolt quit, he simply replace them both with new actors
They already give you what the sequel will look like and im glad they didnt do it, bolt is one of disney greatest masterpiece and i dont want them to touch bolt

To be completely fair though, I mean where else could the story go? Everything was wrapped up nice and neatly in a neat little bow. I feel a sequel would only take away from such a good ending

I'm happy that Bolt never got a sequel because it was one of those times where a movie didn't need a sequel to end the story (like Frozen did (to name an example), which is why I won't watch Frozen 3 and Frozen 4, because for me the story is over).
Bolt 2 - Bolt knows how to ACT like a hero... he just doesn't have the gear/powers. Bolt, Penny, and bunch of special effects guys tackle a real villain somewhere! =)
Remember watching this again when I was 8 such a great movie I love and for the sequel I think it's best to let it be Bec another thing we need is for Disney milking this movie to the bone like their doing to toy story, Shrek, fast and furious etc I think it's what makes this movie better but however i do find it sad that it's very unpopular to the community like I don't think bolt was mentioned in 100 Anniversary for Disney
I too really want a sequel for bolt, but I feel like it would be too far pushed. I just can’t help but feel like there is nowhere else to fit in story in the future of the bolt universe. Now however what could work better would be a prequel story, it could explore how Penny and bolt got involved with the show and what it was like for the two of them to go through that. Although it would likely work better as like a tv show or a short film.

I personally feel the opposite I think Bolt doesn’t need a sequel it was made in an era of Disney when they keep moving forward and focus on both new stories and sequels (strait through DVD), though it was a intresting era before they acquired Marvel Studios and Lucasfilms!

Some films shouldn't have sequels. Bolt is a great story. it told everything it could. sequels in this case could only add an unpleasant smell to it, as many Disney sequels did in the past. stories should be told, and ended, not squeeze as much as you can.

I think maybe they might revisit Bolt one day but I think why it didn't get more movies is simple as at that point Disney rarely made theatrical sequels at that point there had only been the Rescuers and while they have been more it has been much more recently and mostly off of revival works and not the experimental era. Now you might say why not direct to dvd sequel well that one also has a reason and that was John Lasseter as he hated the drop in quality the films got and he canceled many of their projects because of quality with the seven dwarfs movie and Tinker Bell movies being what they did after with the seven dwarfs film being canceled for some behind the scenes reason. So that option is also out for Bolt. Also the fact it is an experimental era film also doesn't help it as unless it is Lilo & Stitch it often gets ignored (we need justice for the Emperor's New Groove).
