I've owned a lot of rice rockets in my time, but never a Suzuki, it just never came to be. It takes top-notch mechanics and top notch tools to get it done right. I agree snap-on all the way!!
@@richardmorris7063 no yamaha's? I had a few of them. 81 Maxum 650 4 cylinder and a YZ125, never got to ride the 125 before I sold it. Aluminum frame aluminum rims , a very lightweight but fast bike along with a Yamaha 100 in which I rode the wheels off until it finally quit. A Kawasaki 750. A Honda 350, a Honda 175 and a Honda no-ped. Built like a moped but look just like a miniature motorcycle. I'll still own my cb175 street bike, been garage kept over 40yrs. My very first big bike at the time.
i dont care what people think but i know the CB , GS , KZ etc. 750 and up will still run with anything today . they have questionable structure insufficiencies compared to the 90s aluminum horseshoe shape chassis , but aside from the obvious antiquities . the evolution of ride everyday bike came from Japan and were meant to last . built before their time . the ease of low maintenence and hydraulics , but the power available right there when you Know what to do with it . those things began there and a bike with anything less is outta the question . i dont like the shaft drives but what those bikes offered truly set the mark in the world . bikes that will out last you on the road. beautiful things to be able to appreciate
Stunning I had a GS 1000 E chain drive back in 1993 21 year old and thrashed it stupid! Coming back from a holiday trip the back brake bleed nipple popped off so an interesting ride back home with the girlfriend riding pillion!
Bullet proof ! Extra reliable with the added assurance if you get shot at while riding the engine will still be good. Bike and rider will be full of bullets but not that engine.
The Suzuki 850/1000/1100 G Models with the Vetter Windjammer Fairing were the best long-term touring machines made, until the Goldwing Interstate 1100 Models...
Some people fall in love with a bike over its looks or performance i think i fell in love with mine over the sound….This machine falls into that category….
Like everybody else already said, nice sounding exhaust note. I wonder if a full kerker exhaust system, might give it a little more of a muffled growl?? That is one sick vintage musclebike. Those gorgeous gold tank badges, really make that black paintjob pop!
Starting about 79 Suzuki took the lead in Worlds fastest bike. I had the Kawasaki 1000 & it was fast but not this fast. To this day they're top 2-3 fastest bikes. You're team has that thing jetted to within an inch of its life! That might pull you're house off the foundation.. Lol
Love those bikes, I had a 1986 GS1150ES and there was nothing around that could keep up with that bike 4 into 1 Vance and Hines header tuned it was a badass mfer bottom line. ✌🏻😎
spokes and brushed or polished aluminum just has a elegance . like old world homes and wood or stone carved for all to admire . ill say Sexiness . there's nothing shameful about it if its done reasonably . that's my point
Sr, do you have a guess on how many bikes you have thrown a leg over and rode in your lifetime , I know you said over 7500 thru the museum, but in total ? It has to Guinness world record numbers , has to be !
That's a fact since I started working at the Suzuki shop in 1983 I was set up Tech and test rider so I've got to be close to the top or at least on the podium
Nobody can even be close, you are no doubt not only the king of ping, but the king of all things motorcycles !🏍️ I’m not jealous , but I am envious ! Keep the streak alive !
Miss that sound, the deep tone of those 80’s demon’s..✌🏼
Love the sound of those bikes.
Late 70’s early 80’s GS Suzuki are the best

The old across the frame fours always reminds me of Road Warrior Mad Max movies ❤

You could include the 550s in there too, smooth and surprisingly powerful
I really like this bike. Nothing sounds as good as the bikes of that time with a pipe.
Hey Ken ! I had a 1978 gs 1000 . Thank you for the trip down nostalgia lane!!!
Right on!

Gold rims would be perfect.
I saw that wheelie.
🐝🏁 Fun bike to ride 👍
Nice
And I asked why didn't off shore builders stay with what they did instead of competing with Harley only for market share...

E and es were chain
This was an original mad max bike wasn't it?🤷👌👍🤝
Too bad it's a shaft drive. I didn't remember those being shaft drive.
E and es models were chain driven 😮
Was made both in shaft drive, and chain drive
Put 5 gear standing with handle bar on chin with peace sign flying rsp ugene
Great bike, but back when,it wasn't a i catcher or popular as most
I love these bikes, Although one of my friends got killed on one outrunning the cops.
