East Bay Ray - he is Ray, from the East Bay
i paused my goon sesh to be here and it was worth it
great video :)
LOL thanks man!
One of the most influential bands that actually kept it together
No other band like them, very unique and catchy songs, and very high energy. One of my top 5 punk bands.
Hell yeah dude. What’s your number 1?
B52s
Cool video dude, keep up the good work. I really like your style of video making, it's way better than staring at the camera and talking.
Thanks man. I only stare into the camera during apology videos…with my ukulele of course
I'm happy you came up on my feed, I'm 5 min in and loving the content already.. seen you're an early channel and the stuff your covering is worth watching so keep it up man and merry Xmas
Hoolllly oh my god ok this is crazy. I’ve been out of town for Christmas and haven’t checked my analytics. This had 41 views a couple days ago this genuinely threw me off so much thank you so much for watching man
Wow Ethan, great moves. Keep it up!
You did an extra excellent angle on them and the whole quickly done giant story ! !
Thank you dude! Means a lot it feels very crazy to see only my 2nd video blow up. I’ve got one on the Butthole Surfers too if you’re a fan of them👌
Frankenchrist is my favorite album. Bedtime for Democracy eats it. Thanks for the video
Of course man! I’ll have one out by the end of January. Check out my Butthole Surfers video if you’re into the too.
couple notes.
1. next time, you should write your own script instead of having a good half of it be slight rewordings of the history section of the band’s wikipedia page. all of the same points are brought up in the exact same order. come on now.
2. literally watch any video of jello talking about the lawsuits and you’ll realize the other members swindled him. real DK fans side with jello and DK without him is a joke.
3. DK are not the first “real hardcore band” by anyone’s reckoning. that would be the bad brains.
Yeah this was an extremely biased documentary
Thanks for the feedback. I’m still getting the hang of this and hopefully I’ll learn with time how to be more comfortable
@@Jamsandwhichtopia i’m sure you’ll get better with time. honestly this video isn’t bad. it’s just that if you want to make a video like this about something that you’re passionate about (which you clearly are), especially one that seems to intend to be a comprehensive introduction, it’s best to do a bit more research. cheers :o)
@@joeyvindictive3552☝️🤓
@@dreamofyouandi I definitely will, cheers man!
38 years later it still reeks of swill and chicken shit conformist 😅
good video dude, seriously keep it up.
might wanna start showing your face and spend more time in editing if u REALLY want ur channel to grow.
I subbed with both my pages on here✊🏻
I really appreciate that man! I don’t really wanna show my face but I do plan on eventually upgrading my editing software. I’m just using clipchamp right now. It’ll probably be rough for a bit but hopefully I improve overtime
@@Jamsandwhichtopia hey dude it's working for ya! it's all good!
It's too bad what happened to Jello smdh
I do wanna say I think I may have been a bit biased against him. It’s a tricky situation but I do like hearing what people think of it
He trusted his mechanic
Gotta love all-inclusive titles like "America's Favorite Hardcore Band" -as if whoever came up with that descriptor gets to decide what "America" feels about something. Stupid. If anything, I'd label them "Noobs favorite hardcore band," as they tend to be one of the first bands discovered by people finding the punk or hardcore subculture. "America's Favorite Punk Starter Kit Band?" Yeah, that works for me.
Btw, definitely *not* America's first hardcore punk band. Look up Middle Class.
Honestly, most of the people I've known exposed to the DKs get a kick out of them at the beginning and then get really tired of the pompous, preachy, "I'm smarter than you" whining of Jello. Being beaten over the head with messages while listening to the screechy, garbage production of their albums gets old once you get past, you know, 16 or 18 years old- but they'll always have the noob kiddies to keep buying their records, thinking the band's name is shocking and subversive... And indeed it was-- for about 10 seconds in 1981.
Well you definitely caught me on the noob part since of only been getting into punk for about 4 months lol
yeah, I hate this band. East Coast is the king of hardcore.
@@BobGeanis to each their own, I do agree that East Coast has some insane classics
DK was definitely one of the first hardcore bands I got into back in middle school. I also got into Black Flag, Bad Brains, Minor Threat and Misfits around the same time, and I gotta say I went through a phase of not listening to them as much, but the music holds up better than a lot of other bands. It’s also nostalgic to me but Plastic Surgery Disasters is one of my favorite albums ever. Yeah there’s better “hardcore punk” bands but DK kinda transcends that. It all depends on the person though. Void might be the best Hc band ever though if you ask me.
