Or it could be yeast infection is caused by an overgrowth of Candida albicans, a type of fungus that naturally lives on the skin. Treatment is a OTC dandruff shampoo.
Using excess beard oil on the skin can cause this, so I apply the beard oil just to my beard, and let capillary action move the oil to my skin underneath.

Certainly don’t use too much oil

Hey Dan, quick question. I've heard two different things.
    A. Your beard should be dry before applying beard oil ( oil & water don't mix idea & the oil doesn't get around the face/beard evenly) and
    B. Apply oil after you towel dry your face/ beard (the small amount of water left behind is actually trapped by the oil, leading to better moisturizing of).
    Which is the better approach?
    Thanks brother. Love the channel.

I wash my beard every other day in the shower. I scrub the crap out of it with my hands. Like really get in there to the point where I’m annoyed and it’s starting to hurt. Then I put oil on it(beard is about 6-8”) after the wash. Still, on the 2nd day, beard is right back to druff all over my dang shirt. Don’t know what to do but would love some help!

Wash daily! Exfoliate in the shower with a comb and not your hands as much. And drink more water!

Obviously Dan’s the expert and do what he says. I would only add from my own experience that maybe you are using the wrong products on it as a possibility. Maybe your skin doesn’t like your oil. I had one type of beard butter I was using that gave me beardruff (I have very sensitive skin and that particular product irritated me. It was a high quality product with good ingredients, it just didn’t work on me). Try something else just to rule out that potential! Butter at night is what helps my beard the most.

@@somebodysdog9235 I have several different products that I use regularly just based on what I feel like using that day. I personally enjoy switching up what I use almost on a daily basis but that’s just me. I use oil every day post shower to a damp beard (if I shower more than once I reapply oil after every shower). I use Beard Octane, Live Bearded, Honest Amish and Doctor Nicks for oil. For wash I use Duke Cannon best damn beard wash, beard octane wash and conditioner, or Live Bearded wash and conditioner. I actually use the Duke Cannon wash the most (I didn’t like their oil but love their wash). I also apply butter before bed sometimes (2-3 times per week). For butter I use Beard Octane, Live Bearded, or Doctor Nicks. The way I got started a few years ago was with Honest Amish beard oil and Duke Cannon wash cause both could be picked up at Walmart. I like other products more than those these days but continue to use them 3 years later because they just work for me.

Write down every ingredient in each product. Then buy something else that is missing one of those ingredients, just one if possible. There are two possibilities (three if neither applies), allergy OR intolerance. A good example of that is your gastrointestinal tract. Some foods cause allergies, really bad, or intolerance without an allergy. Now, maybe that's an investment to do this, but you will end up with quite an assortment of good products. Take the fungal, bacterial and viral infection possibility seriously. Also, how old are your products? They can grow bacteria and fungus. Throw away any old stuff, including shampoo and conditioner. Good luck!

I’ve made the journey back 3 times now. Each time has been a new experience because each time I grew it back I knew and understood better on how to take care of my beard so it grew back better and longer each time. In the beginning I only got my beard to 13” and now it’s reaching 22”. It has grown out to this length in 2 years time.
