Dan, is it a viable option to put the beard oil on, let it sit for 5 minutes, use the heated brush, then use beard butter? Like a little bit of butter? Just enough to style a bit. I ran out of balm 🤣

The biggest thing I hear from guys just starting out is "How do I stop the itch?". That's usually a great way to introduce them to beard oil. I've been known to give out a free bottle of Honest Amish now and then. I also point them here. One guy recently told me, "I always thought having a beard would be easier than shaving every day. I was wrong, but in a good way." Keep it up, Dan. Great video.

Started beard oil the second day I didn’t shave. Learned alot last year watching your videos and using what I learned. Just started beard butter when my beard started showing length almost 1/2 inch. You can start earlier but was waiting until I could feel the hairs getting a little rough. Within a few days my beard was completely soft and started being able to train the hairs to go where I want them. I didn’t start oils and butters until 6 months into the last growth and can tell a difference this time

Love that RUclips transcribes your name in the Closed Captions as Nancy Bearded. But I've learned alot from you- in fact, I'm very inspired to start my own beard product line. I'm not really with alot of the Nordic and Arayan themed beard products and alot of brands have Argan that my wife is allergic to, so I love brands like The Bearded Mack but so many brands leave my beard oily and greasy, no matter how much I use or don't use.

Good morning Dan C, and this amazing bearded community. Another great video. This formula from the very beginning and the advice that I’m giving here. I’ve been able to put together a great formula and I’m pretty disciplined these days with how to apply one to apply and the products that I use and what works best for not only my skin, but for my beard hair. As my skin has told me I stay clear of the balms, and wax. Again, thanks for all the advice Dan, and family. And certainly the learning process I’ve been able to follow.

I totally agree with using beard wash & beard oil right away. I am a bit different when it comes to butter, though. My skin is very dry and really likes when I use a wax-free beard butter on both the hair & skin. I don't get clogged pores or negative skin issues and it helps keep my skin nourished.

Hey Dan. I have a 1” long hairs now and I consider myself a rookie. My routine is rinse every morning apply oil (damp beard) I think I’m using too much? Half a dropper. I keep applying it until I can feel it in the beard then at night I wash every day and every 3 or so days I use conditioner. I let both sit in my beard for a minute or two before rinsing out. My conditioner isn’t a co wash so I don’t use it by itself. Then I apply another half dropper when the beard is damp and occasionally I’ll use beard butter. I’m using a kit from deadman’s beard co and Chicago combs. Haven't tried a strip wash yet but I’m going to use a cold pressed soap bar. I think I might be using too much oil/ butter but idk how to gauge how much to use. THANKS MAN! Your the teacher all things bearded!

Could you possibly revisit beard braiding? In concerns of beard health, loose braid/tight braid, pros and cons and maybe even a how-to for those that don't know how to braid. I recently started braiding everyday after my shower: 1) Oil the beard and wait five minutes. 2) Aberlite Pro heated beard brush to straighten it. 3) Loose braid. 4) Viking beads attached to the end for flair. I wanted to know if this would damage my beard or not.

I have taken to using beard butter as a mid-day refresher if needed. On days where I was working outside but don't have time to shower quite yet, or if I smoked a cigar. Whenever I want that smell bump up, but don't want to go to the effort of wetting my beard for a fresh shot of oil, hit it with a touch of butter.

It’s crazy that I’ve grown my beard out a little bit many, many times over the past 50 years but only now that I’m letting it grow much longer am I learning about beard products. Of course the first thing I tried was just what I saw at drug stores - Duke Cannon beard balm. I didn’t know any better so I just melted some in my hands and put it all through my beard and onto the skin - too much I’m sure. That left me with built-up product on the skin so I stopped, thinking I was doing something wrong, which I was. Thanks for this quick explanation of what each one is for.

My parents are forcing me to shave it but I want to keep it. They are saying it’s too frizzy and it makes me look very unpresentable.
