Dan, is it a viable option to put the beard oil on, let it sit for 5 minutes, use the heated brush, then use beard butter? Like a little bit of butter? Just enough to style a bit. I ran out of balm 🤣
The biggest thing I hear from guys just starting out is "How do I stop the itch?". That's usually a great way to introduce them to beard oil. I've been known to give out a free bottle of Honest Amish now and then. I also point them here. One guy recently told me, "I always thought having a beard would be easier than shaving every day. I was wrong, but in a good way." Keep it up, Dan. Great video.
I just retired from the military, so halfway through life but brand new to facial hair. I’ve subbed to the channel and learned a fair bit from several of your videos; thanks for all the great information and reviews. I appreciate your attention to detail, editing style, and your integrity. Thanks!
Started beard oil the second day I didn’t shave. Learned alot last year watching your videos and using what I learned. Just started beard butter when my beard started showing length almost 1/2 inch. You can start earlier but was waiting until I could feel the hairs getting a little rough. Within a few days my beard was completely soft and started being able to train the hairs to go where I want them. I didn’t start oils and butters until 6 months into the last growth and can tell a difference this time
New beardsmen and people interested in beards have found the right place! Dan C has beard information from A to Z and will always respond to questions! Thanks Dan for being the trusted teacher and doing all you do! 👏💪👍🔥🍻
I ordered a bar of Bearded Mack tropical storm last week after seeing it on one of your vids, I really like the scent and how gentle it is. Thanks, Dan. 👊
Thanks Dan. Great beginner info new guys can start with right away with a path forward without feeling like its necessary to immediately watch hours and hours of video - time a lot of guys might not have.
Love that RUclips transcribes your name in the Closed Captions as Nancy Bearded. But I've learned alot from you- in fact, I'm very inspired to start my own beard product line. I'm not really with alot of the Nordic and Arayan themed beard products and alot of brands have Argan that my wife is allergic to, so I love brands like The Bearded Mack but so many brands leave my beard oily and greasy, no matter how much I use or don't use.
Good morning Dan C, and this amazing bearded community. Another great video. This formula from the very beginning and the advice that I’m giving here. I’ve been able to put together a great formula and I’m pretty disciplined these days with how to apply one to apply and the products that I use and what works best for not only my skin, but for my beard hair. As my skin has told me I stay clear of the balms, and wax. Again, thanks for all the advice Dan, and family. And certainly the learning process I’ve been able to follow.
Thank you so much for a quick intro to beard products! I'm a trans person with facial hair for the first time in my life and I have started asking the people around me what to do and where to go. I am currently adding your channel to my list of info!
I made many mistakes (had a beard for a long time, that was based on just being lazy at first after 20 years of clean shave) when growing my beard, I've been correcting those thanks to you and now have a skin/beard care routine that is on par with my teenage daughter but I clearly see the difference in the "health" of my beard. Thanks man for all your videos!
I just hit my two week mark of not shaving. (I already had a short neck/chin beard but finally got the mustache grown in) I never thought about using beard oil or anything like that before. So I’m looking forward to finally starting. Thanks for a really informative video… it was the first in my search!
I totally agree with using beard wash & beard oil right away. I am a bit different when it comes to butter, though. My skin is very dry and really likes when I use a wax-free beard butter on both the hair & skin. I don't get clogged pores or negative skin issues and it helps keep my skin nourished.
I still love watching your videos. You have helped me so much, but even after growing my beard for a couple of years, I still learn things from you - like conditioner in the beard to just use in the beard and not the skin. This is a new one for me! Thank you as always !
Hey Dan. I have a 1” long hairs now and I consider myself a rookie. My routine is rinse every morning apply oil (damp beard) I think I’m using too much? Half a dropper. I keep applying it until I can feel it in the beard then at night I wash every day and every 3 or so days I use conditioner. I let both sit in my beard for a minute or two before rinsing out. My conditioner isn’t a co wash so I don’t use it by itself. Then I apply another half dropper when the beard is damp and occasionally I’ll use beard butter. I’m using a kit from deadman’s beard co and Chicago combs. Haven't tried a strip wash yet but I’m going to use a cold pressed soap bar. I think I might be using too much oil/ butter but idk how to gauge how much to use. THANKS MAN! Your the teacher all things bearded!
Could you possibly revisit beard braiding? In concerns of beard health, loose braid/tight braid, pros and cons and maybe even a how-to for those that don't know how to braid. I recently started braiding everyday after my shower: 1) Oil the beard and wait five minutes. 2) Aberlite Pro heated beard brush to straighten it. 3) Loose braid. 4) Viking beads attached to the end for flair. I wanted to know if this would damage my beard or not.
I have taken to using beard butter as a mid-day refresher if needed. On days where I was working outside but don't have time to shower quite yet, or if I smoked a cigar. Whenever I want that smell bump up, but don't want to go to the effort of wetting my beard for a fresh shot of oil, hit it with a touch of butter.
OMG, I'm glad I caught this video. I have been using my fingers to work the butter down to the skin. So, what would be the negative aspect of reaching the skin? Like clogging pores, maybe.
It’s crazy that I’ve grown my beard out a little bit many, many times over the past 50 years but only now that I’m letting it grow much longer am I learning about beard products. Of course the first thing I tried was just what I saw at drug stores - Duke Cannon beard balm. I didn’t know any better so I just melted some in my hands and put it all through my beard and onto the skin - too much I’m sure. That left me with built-up product on the skin so I stopped, thinking I was doing something wrong, which I was. Thanks for this quick explanation of what each one is for.
The part about new people wanting a shorter video! Exactly why i clicked on this vid😂 also every other search result had some mangled beards talking about "i can help you" 😂😂😂
2:50 i feel like if have to apply butter with an open palm (to intentionally avoid getting to the skin) then you can probably wait till its longer to use butter :)
I’ve had beards before but mostly just from laziness but this is the first time I’m actually going to try and take care of it properly. And I honestly had no clue where to begin. So this is good advice thanks! I just ordered a beard care kit from Amazon I do have a stupid question though, my beard is coming in mostly gray even though the hair on my head is still dark with not much gray, do you have any recommendations for a beard dye?
I don't use beard wash but I do use Jack Black face wash and do wash my face and beard twice a day. I will start only washing my beard once a day after work thanks for the advice. Is Jack Black face wash considered a type of beard wash??
Hello, I have a small to medium beard and I would like to know the best brands for the beard wash and the beard oil as I see those as the most important for me right now
so i am 21 years old and just stopped shaving a few weeks ago and started to take care of the skin and beard area of my face daily is there any tips you would recommend to promote faster and healthier growth
Thanks Dan - love the videos. I’ve had a beard for most of my adult life but only since last year been growing it out - your tutorials have really helped me understand how to care for it and maintain it - I’m loving the look so thanks…! My question is: I holiday during the summer at beach spots and spend loads of time in the ocean. The salt water makes my beard feel quite hard and almost brittle. What advice do you have for care of my beard when I’m spending loads of time in the ocean. Cheers man
Man I been using Jamaican castor Oil on my beard… not sure how effective it is and I actually wasn’t sure what beard butter was for so I was using it all wrong lol … I really appreciate your video man
@dan I was talking over this stuff with new beardsmen (I call them green beards) and I described beard oil like this, “beard oil is a misnomer. Beard oil is actually skin oil for bearded people”. The green beards really had an “ah ha!” moment.

I’m wondering if you could show me some examples for a round face and the beard styles I could use my beard is pretty short right now, but I wanted to look better with my round face much thanks
Colin here. Bahawat has just come out with a beard wash and I wanted to know if you have tried it? My favorite beard products come from Bahawat and Beard Octane.
Conditioner should be used after beard wash. The amount will depend on how big/long your beard is. My amount is 3 pumps with a conditioner that has a pump.
Good morning Dan, when or how often do you trim a new beard? 10 months in on growing my beard and the fly aways and frizzies are killing me. I don't want to trim too often though... Help!!
I’m new to my beard I just bought Viking revolution beardwash and conditioner and was wondering how often do I use those? I was thinking of everyday to every other day
Hi man, I started to watch your videos and I'm pretty familiar with all the beard products and how to use them properly also thanks to you. However, there is one of them that i can't find online, which is the "beard butter", everytime the results on internet shows me balms instead, so please if you can recommend me where i can shop the butter would be awsome.
Here is a video on the different washes: ruclips.net/video/iiEkuFKOh0c/видео.html Duke cannon actually has a good daily/gentle wash. I do not recommend their oil though.
Please can you make a video with when each products can be used? I mean the conditioner are you using after the oil or before anf then when it is berd butter for example and so on. Thank you in afvance because I have start a beard and irt is medium and I use just oil and wax for moustaj, of course also wash it 2 times per week. But I have a balm what I do not know how to use it. It is a milky color anf little thick also. Please help. Thank you in advance.
Colin again. I use beard butter at night. Thought about purchasing leave in conditioner from beard octane. When would I put the leave in conditioner in if I put oil in during the day and butter at night?
If there is damage you can see and/or feel, such as split ends or knots… then you need to get rid of the damage. Otherwise, start here and see how it goes!
How long after applying beard oil should I apply the butter at night? And if my beard isn’t damp anymore should I wet it a little or will that remove some of the oil?
Hello there my name is Demetrius I'm a new subscriber I just hit my 20 and I can already grow a decent beard within a few months i can't seem to grow much hair on my cheeks/mustache is there anything you would suggest that might help stimulate those facial hairs
Hello Dan! New subscriber and beard grower here! I was wondering if you happened to review Live Bearded's Beard Serum? Been trying to find something about it but it doesn't seem to be commonly reviewed, if at all.
Hi Dan, I have a touch-up question.. Often I find after a couple of hours in the day, my beard sometimes looks dry or out of shape. Not always in the possibility of washing or rinsing.. Can I apply oil, butter or wax straight on the beard? Is it ok if I only dampen/spray it with some water?
Oh man, that’s tough! It would be either of these: Beard Octane= beardoctane.com/DANC * DANC10 = 10% Doctor Nicks= www.doctornicks.com/danc * DANC = 15% off
Hi his starting uses most products on my beard I use beard shampoo then conditioner beard oil then balm over day out over 2 days I’m I doing it right ?
This might be better to ask during a Q&A but have you reviewed any Canadian brands for beard products? Im getting reamed by the shipping always ordering from the US
Hi Dan! I have a question, some strands of hair that have a “crinkle cut fry” structure that feels hard and rough. Is this damage or is this just textured hair?
Hello! I’m a teenager who has been growing out my beard for about a year now (I don’t have the best genetics) so it’s still quite short. My parents are forcing me to shave it but I want to keep it. They are saying it’s too frizzy and it makes me look very unpresentable. I use beard oil and beard balm but it doesn’t seem to help the frizz enough. Any suggestions or videos I should watch? Thanks so much!
This is Colin, Amy’s husband. I have been using Nivea face wash on my face. Then I use beard octane Lcw wash, ginger jamboree scent. My question is will this Nivea face wash harm my beard?
Hello, I am starting my beard growth, only 1 to 2 inches long. I'm in the UK, what products would you recommend, struggling to find the best as they all quote to the be the best. Found you on here and I have watch a few of your vids which have been very helpful ao thank you.

Conditioner should be used after beard wash. The amount will depend on how big/long your beard is. My amount is 3 pumps with a conditioner that has a pump.
About a dime size and I usually use conditioner every third or 4th wash.

Totally personal preference! Some trim every couple weeks and some never touch it

Personally, for growth I like to aim for 3-4 months for a trim, to keep the beard full-looking and not thin and wispy at the end.

Doctor Nicks= www.doctornicks.com/danc

Colin again. I use beard butter at night. Thought about purchasing leave in conditioner from beard octane. When would I put the leave in conditioner in if I put oil in during the day and butter at night?
I do not recommend leave-in conditioner anymore. I think you can get all the benefits from oil and butter
Hey Dan which beard oil can you recommend for fast growth for beginner?
Can never go wrong with honest Amish tk start
Hi man loved this video, I have a question. What online shop would you recommend to buy this products, keep in mind that i live in europe, thanks !
Seven potions is a great option in Europe!
Should I start again 😮 I've never really taken care of my beard it's a shorter beard but I've never used oils or beard wash this is all new to me
If there is damage you can see and/or feel, such as split ends or knots… then you need to get rid of the damage. Otherwise, start here and see how it goes!
I will continue to buy from Beard Octane but Bahawat has a better deal on oil. 1 ounce of octane is $20, where with Bahawat 2 ounce bottle is $22.
Both are fantastic!
Thank you.
You're welcome!
How long after applying beard oil should I apply the butter at night? And if my beard isn’t damp anymore should I wet it a little or will that remove some of the oil?
3-5 minutes and then yes rewet if it is totally dry
Is there a company that makes a leave in conditioner?
Yes, but it’s not a product I recommend. If you would still like recommendations, I can give you some companies that do 🤝
Hello there my name is Demetrius I'm a new subscriber I just hit my 20 and I can already grow a decent beard within a few months i can't seem to grow much hair on my cheeks/mustache is there anything you would suggest that might help stimulate those facial hairs
Truly just patience and healthy habits. Those fill in with some years
Hello Dan! New subscriber and beard grower here! I was wondering if you happened to review Live Bearded's Beard Serum? Been trying to find something about it but it doesn't seem to be commonly reviewed, if at all.
I have not tried that one yet, but I’ll add it to my ideas list. Thanks and welcome to the channel!
@@DanCBearded Awesome, thanks!
Thnx bro for the tips
No problem 👍
Hi Dan, I have a touch-up question.. Often I find after a couple of hours in the day, my beard sometimes looks dry or out of shape. Not always in the possibility of washing or rinsing.. Can I apply oil, butter or wax straight on the beard? Is it ok if I only dampen/spray it with some water?
Totally fine! As long as you get it a little damp, then a midday routine is great
Dan, how long does it take you to groom your beard?
My morning routine from brushing teeth to walking out is 40 minutes. The beard itself? 10-15 minutes
Will beard balm make my beard go white in colour?
Nope!
Where can I find these beard products besides the internet? Target? Walmart? Barber shops?
D) all of the above, truly
I started to grow my beard, but I noticed a "circle" patch on my right side just below my ear. How do I get rid of it?
Hey man! I have a video about that: ruclips.net/video/IaMko8h2Nks/видео.htmlsi=IZXiTZxwvOfc4K06
Great video brother.
Dan, if you had to pick one butter, what are you going with?
Oh man, that’s tough! It would be either of these:
Beard Octane= beardoctane.com/DANC
* DANC10 = 10%
Doctor Nicks= www.doctornicks.com/danc

You're the best man, appreciate your advice.

That is the correct order, yes. I recommend all of those daily, except the conditioner. Try to use that every other day
@@DanCBearded thanks never get a replay normally on posts lol last question can u name me any good products that hy can buy all as a package
What's the best brand of Biotin to use?
I use Beard Octane= beardoctane.com/DANC
* DANC10 = 10%
After using butter, can I rub excess on my elbows? Will it clog those pores or are they different than face pores? Or it's an elbow, who cares.
For sure on the elbow! Very different than the pores under your beard
For me it's a balance of length and fullness
Love that!
I need help my beard curls up under my chin. How do I get it to grow downward. I’m Hispanic if that matters
Heat! Heated brush and/or blowdryer
How do you strip your beard with soap ?
What sort of soap
Cheers 🍻
I use the beard and body soap by Beard Octane= beardoctane.com/DANC
* DANC10 = 10% off
Nice beard, respect
Thank you!
Recent subscriber! Really loving the tips! Do you use fables leave in conditioner at all while you sleep? I like it
Thank you so much! And no, I do not use leave-in conditioner anymore. Here is a video explaining why: ruclips.net/video/qYhgpTxpZPc/видео.html
This might be better to ask during a Q&A but have you reviewed any Canadian brands for beard products? Im getting reamed by the shipping always ordering from the US
I have; the best I have tried is educated beards. There is a new one coming soon out of Ontario, and they are great!
Morning Dan,hey I was wondering,is the lcw from octane safe to use on a daily basis....thanks n much love professor.
Yes, absolutely! That’s a great daily/gentle beard wash
@@DanCBearded do u have to use conditioner with that kind
You don’t have to, but you can. I wouldn’t recommend more than 3-4 times a week with conditioner though (after the wash)
@@DanCBearded ok awesome sauce bro....looking forward to ur broadcast tomm, have blessed day brother, tell Sam c hello😁
Hi Dan! I have a question, some strands of hair that have a “crinkle cut fry” structure that feels hard and rough. Is this damage or is this just textured hair?
That’s just texture, no worries there!
It is all about time and patience. Beard oil and boars bristle brush are your best bet
Will do. Thanks so much!
This is Colin, Amy’s husband. I have been using Nivea face wash on my face. Then I use beard octane Lcw wash, ginger jamboree scent. My question is will this Nivea face wash harm my beard?
Not as long as you don’t use it on the beard. If your beard is wet and you use that on your face with no beard, it will just run off.
