This set is so nostalgic for me. I was a kid when season 1 launched, and remember the joy of collecting all the ninja and the 4 golden weapons. Brings back happy memories :) Thank you Jang
i remember seeing the original bounty and the possession bounty and I wanted both respectively, but never asked my parents (I think) i got destinies shadow from Hands Of Time
It seems crazy but the movie version (70618) was actually cheaper than this one by £15! Just shows how much of a bargain the movie version was in my opinion.
I’m in the usa and I paid $154.99 for the movie Bounty and $119.99 for this one. That’s weird that the movie one is cheaper then the new one in your Country
I was bit disapointed with the back "winglets". I was hoping that they would have some other transformation features than just turning down. That was my favorite part of the possesion seasons Destiny's Bounty. Otherwise this set is great, by far my favorite set of 2020 and it just keeps growing on me more and more.
I’m so happy this set exists. The original Destiny’s Bounty was one my favorite sets I had as a kid. The LNM version sits on my shelf as my favorite set in the past few years. But to see the true original brought back and remade in such an improved way honestly brings a bit of a nostalgic tear to my eye. What a beautiful set.
This is my favourite of all the Bounties. I fancy the red and cream scheme, and the rear vanes are like a pair of folded dragon wings. I feel it has the better combined feature design borrowed from all its predecessors.
I remember reading somewhere that this Destiny’s Bounty is like the play set version while the movie one is the UCS, and now that they’re compared it’s kinda accurate. This one retains a good size and good features, but the detail and usable space of the movie one is simply unmatched. Great review as usual Jang!
I think the 2017 one is better simply by virtue of its more realistic size, but I feel this works just as well despite its more limited size. They’re both excellent models.
Having built and proudly displayed the Ninjago Movie Destiny’s Bounty for a while now, I must say that this design isn’t my favorite. However, I love how faithful this set is to the original! Great review as always Jang!
You can't compare the Movie Bounty to any Bounty ever made. That one was like €70 more expensive and made for display, so it's garantued to be more detailed
Legolegger 1 That’s a fair point, my friend! I’m not endeavoring to compare the value of the models, I just mean that I subjectively prefer the aesthetics of the Movie Bounty. Naturally since this model is primarily made for play it will not be as highly detailed, but I still think the Legacy Bounty is a great set!
The release of the movie just a few years ago may have faked you out to thinking the series was newer. NP, but true the series was going on, and quite popular for a good while before that..
I got this LEGO set a few days ago and pictures and videos do not do it justice. This is in my top 5 of most favorite LEGO ninjago sets and probably top 5 in sets I have. It’s just so good looking and the detail is amazing. Would definitely recommend
I like the filled cargo hold. Nice accesories....not too much , but enough for a minifig to move around for brick films. Love, love the navigation map and electronic controls. The dragon and wings are boss.
If I haven't said it before, I REALLY enjoy your reviews Jang. Being able to see the comparison between the move ship and this one is something I could not afford to do, so I very much appreciate you and your channel. Hope you keep up the great content.
I would like to add that a regular minifigure cannot stand in the Hold with the deck on. Young Lloyd is able to stand in the hold with the Deck on. Nice Video Jang!
I really love the new legacy sets because I was an original fan of the show back in 2012 but I Was unable to get the old sets sadly. But with these new sets my dream of having all the characters in my collection can become true.
Thanks for the heads up on handling the model, found that problem with the movie version, the fenders kept getting knocked off. Usually don't have sets sit around for more the a few days once built but my nephew is into boats so that one sat around a few weeks and had to keep moving it out the way when building something else, ended up just leaving the fenders off until he next came over and could show him! Great review, looking forward to building this one, it's sitting there looking at me right now, it'll either be that or the Monkey King Mech next.
The cabin that comes off and opens up is absolutely brilliant. It makes the interior accessible, without compromising the design. Once opened, it has the look of a Japanese shoji (japaneese room with paper walls). The original republic gunship had the uncompromising open to create a base design, and lego needs to do more like this. The ability to change between display piece and play set without compromise is one of Lego's strong point, but they rarely take advantage of it. Great job Lego
Just got this set a while back. As an OG Ninjago fan, just seeing this set being announced was amazing, and now that I have it in hand, that amazingness holds up!!!
That's a licensing thing, LEGO actually own the rights to Ninjago as it's an original thing so they can charge a fair amount for a good few minifigs and a decent build Whereas with star wars and marvel etc they have to pay a licensing fee which is not cheap at all so they have to make their money back some way
This was a set I kind of hated at first. I thought that it should have been longer and that it looked really short and weird. But looking at the comparison between the movie version and this one really gave me a sense of the size and I think I will pick it up now, Great informative review.
*The set looks excelent, tough i think it would only need to have the Ninja's hair pieces and another minifig on the set ( Like Legacy Garmadon or Pythor ) and it would be a perfect set.*
The lack of a forward compartment under the deck is the same issue that I’ve always had with the LNM version. It’s a small complaint with consideration to what’s already offered, but it would’ve just made it so much better. Nearly perfect actually. I’m also having second thoughts about this now after seeing it next to the movie version. It looks so plain and uninteresting. It needs a lot more detail work.
I really hope that next year we get a like, $200-250 legacy movie bounty to coincide with the 10th anniversary of ninjago. The original is my favorite set ever, but seeing it at an almost double price point I think could make an even better model.
The funny thing about this is that, in the UK, the Movie version (70618) was actually *cheaper* than this (only £110 against the US price of $160). This _new_ set has an absolutely appalling US -> UK exchange value, which renders it more pricey. Its a shame, because I actually really like this set, but I'm not about to pay that!
I'm not the biggest ninjago fan, but I remember watching season 1 with my sister. I saw the destiny's bounty in the show and I instantly wished for a physical version. I haven't had the opportunity to get my hands on one up until now. I usually only get Star Wars lego, but I'm definitely going to have to make an exception for this nostalgic, cool, and awesome set. And then when we watched season 2 (or 3, I can't remember), and the bounty got wrecked I was so sad. But, then it came back, and I was happy again. And then maybe it went away again? I can't remember. :P
For all the decorative bells and whistles on the movie version, it was quite a redesign from the original ship in the show. This is much closer to the original Destiny's Bounty, and as such feels like the better set, to me. The movie version has just the barest suggestion of those giant fins and turbines which are supposed to lift the whole ship, compared to not only a fully-realized version of the fins and engines, but also the feature of switching modes.
I guess it's nice that they're giving people another shot at getting the Destiny's Bounty as it looked in the first season/wave, but it's not worth it if you have the movie version.
I think that the original Bounty still remains the best in terms of its transformation. The sail angling was nice and smooth, but even better was the mechanism for the thrusters in the rear. The two sections on either side that were linked together but rotated in opposite directions was just so slick! I got plenty of hours of uber-satisfying "flip to flying-flip to floating" action out of that play feature. Plus, for its piece count, it was still able to have a decent amount of room on deck, and I think it's the only Bounty to come with a proper cannon. This new one is a good set, but it reminded me how well-crafted the original was, even if it wasn't all that accurate aesthetically.
I'm not a fan of Ninjago in general but many of the sets are so good in play value and price value that I've bought several Ninjago sets over the years.
Most youtubers only got it a couple of days ago from Lego. Since Jang buys his that means he will probably have to go to a store and won't get it early from Lego ambassador network. Probably coming within the week though.
Hands down best Destiny’s Bounty of the three TV Show versions (yes I know they for some reason made the movie version the tv show version for like a season or maybe two but they’ve reretconned it back to the original design, obviously the movie version is one of the sickest Ninjago sets ever but this is just nostalgia great, so I think I prefer it over the movie version tho once again the movie version is probably the most awesome set from Ninjago)
I think the only think that could make this more perfect for me would be getting the hair pieces for all the characters.
Yes
I have them all now all i need is the hair pieces
That hull space would be perfect for creating the bunk/bed spaces we see in season 1!!
Yea true
This set is so nostalgic for me. I was a kid when season 1 launched, and remember the joy of collecting all the ninja and the 4 golden weapons. Brings back happy memories :)
Thank you Jang
I feel you i’ve been watching Ninjago since season 1
Same
Same.
i remember seeing the original bounty and the possession bounty and I wanted both respectively, but never asked my parents (I think) i got destinies shadow from Hands Of Time
I heard “young Lloyd” as “young boy” and thought
“Yeah let’s just take some kid with us. He’ll be fine.”
They did do that
What about Nelson
Ah, Green Eyes Young Lloyd, the only one stronger than the Blue Eyes White Dragon
Indeed
Yes
I’ve watched Ninjago since the beginning. New 10th anniversary sets coming out in January
Hahaha Blue-Eyes is nothing compared to Galaxy-Eyes
It seems crazy but the movie version (70618) was actually cheaper than this one by £15! Just shows how much of a bargain the movie version was in my opinion.
Paid £55 @ Argos for 70618 after £5 vouchercodes cashback.
I’m in the usa and I paid $154.99 for the movie Bounty and $119.99 for this one. That’s weird that the movie one is cheaper then the new one in your Country
The movie bounty is probably the best set I own tied with lloyd's titan mech
I got it for Christmas the year it came out
what country do you live in?! the movie one is more than twice the price of this where i live
I will get this set and i also have monastery of spinjitzu so its gonna look amazing together
Does the monastery look good with the temple of airjitzu? I have the temple and am considering getting the monastery to compliment it
i have mine next to the monestary it looks amazingn
weird flex but ok
jk
Same here!
Yes opened it’s looks so cool with airjitsu temple and monastery
I’m old enough to remember owning the original. This is cool but the single piece molded rubber dragon head will be missed.
Late comment but RIP to the old molded heads :(
I love the use of the hotdog pieces in the roof of the ship.
I was bit disapointed with the back "winglets". I was hoping that they would have some other transformation features than just turning down. That was my favorite part of the possesion seasons Destiny's Bounty.
Otherwise this set is great, by far my favorite set of 2020 and it just keeps growing on me more and more.
Well they do have the Jets on the side that pop up, the only other thing would be synchronized rotating
I’m so happy this set exists. The original Destiny’s Bounty was one my favorite sets I had as a kid. The LNM version sits on my shelf as my favorite set in the past few years. I would compare the movie one to MBS, because it's big and detailed, but it also has a lot of play features.
They never add the ninja's bunk beds sadly
I sleep in those beds!
Up till this day I still watch this guy
I think the 2017 one is better simply by virtue of its more realistic size, but I feel this works just as well despite its more limited size. They’re both excellent models.

@@r.s3150 lol nah this is more expensive than the movie bounty
In the uk at least
@@r.s3150 Really? In the UK, the Movie bounty was cheaper than this new one by £5
Wait... 13 seasons? How has this been going for 13 seasons? ... I feel old now.
The release of the movie just a few years ago may have faked you out to thinking the series was newer. NP, but true the series was going on, and quite popular for a good while before that..
It’s almost 10 years
You haven’t scene it??
I stopped keeping up with it after Season 4
Lol they mustve done more than 1 a year. Ninjago didn't come out when I was 3
I got this LEGO set a few days ago and pictures and videos do not do it justice. This is in my top 5 of most favorite LEGO ninjago sets and probably top 5 in sets I have. It’s just so good looking and the detail is amazing. Would definitely recommend
I love all of the Destiny’s Bounty sets! This one just brings back memories of being a kid collecting all of the Fang Blades! Great review as always
Amazing set I wish I can afford it
Edit: Thank you for the likes
That price/part ratio is amazing...
This brings back so many memories 😭, i wish i could just be small again and spend my childhood with Ninjago.
I like the filled cargo hold. Nice accesories....not too much , but enough for a minifig to move around for brick films. Love, love the navigation map and electronic controls. The dragon and wings are boss.

I have the original and this has so much space for figures and the command center room is so much better then the original one
I really love the new legacy sets because I was an original fan of the show back in 2012 but I Was unable to get the old sets sadly. But with these new sets my dream of having all the characters in my collection can become true.
I can't wait to buy this!!
Me to
It's been out for over a month, what are you waiting for lol
*nostalgia intensifies*
Great review, loved the comparison.
I love the Destiny Bounty journey.
I have the 2017 one and it's excellent. This one is fantastic also and I'll get it too. Thank you for the great demo and review!
Went to the LEGO store at 5 and got a Large pick a brick and 70 dollars worth of sets for my birthday
I like it,it's GOOD. Also what a "CLASSIC"
This is a really great set I looks really cool
AND this CLASSIC will remain very classic for a very long time, since I don't think they remake this anytime soon.
I think I prefer the legacy bounty for the fact I love the classic feel to it
Thanks for the heads up on handling the model, found that problem with the movie version, the fenders kept getting knocked off. yoooo young Lloyd looks adorable haha
I just bought this 2 weeks ago it looks amaIng
can't believe they haven't made a legacy great devourer set yet

when is the diagon alley review coming
I just got this for my birthday today! Im so excited to open it
Lego ninjago: $130 for 7 minifigs and a large ship $0.07 ppp
Lego star wars: $130 for 3 minifigs and a large ship $0.12 ppp
3 figs? Yeah nah that's not true
I think he’s talking about the razorcrest???
@@nerdmakessillymovies yeah the razor crest

Finally Jang I was waiting for you to upload this set. Thank a lot!!!
A good modification would be to remove the stud shooter and put a training system in instead
So much nostalgia! I love it!
This is a very nice set, but I likely won't get it since I have the movie version of the Bounty
i wish they had the red transformation button under the screen in the helm like in the show
I bought this about a week ago! This is by far the best Tv show accurate set ever made!
3 hours? it took me more like 8 hours to put this one together.
Me watching this 8 times because I’m waiting to get this set in July........
This was a set I kind of hated at first. I thought that it should have been longer and that it looked really short and weird. But looking at the comparison between the movie version and this one really gave me a sense of the size and I think I will pick it up now, Great informative review.

Is the orange katana meant to maybe be a reference to the sword of sanctuary?

Just spill it JANG, you're secretly an architect who knows and understands everything about architecture
Wow the years flew by
Did he just make this public after having it unlisted or something?
Cause I’m kinda confused as to why I just got a notification for a 4 day old video
The legacy bounty is missing that second floor below the cabin
In my local Toy's R Us here in Norway the Movie version was $10 cheaper than the new version is.
You're lucky, the we don't have Toys R us in the U.S. anymore. 😥
Hey Jang I watch your vids all the time. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Jang. Another great set with enough spare parts to make an accessory pack.🤠
The Destiny’s Bounty from the movie kind of makes this set look second rate and cost I think only 20 or 30 dollars more
Which one is better for non display purchase land bounty or this one?
The funny thing about this is that, in the UK, the Movie version (70618) was actually *cheaper* than this (only £110 against the US price of $160). This _new_ set has an absolutely appalling US -> UK exchange value, which renders it more pricey.

, I wish they put the bunk beds for the ninja cause they had some in the og season when they found the bounty
Ah yes, the one and only dragon sword of fire piece
I built this set and it was great! For sure worth the money to me! Way better than the Star Wars sets Looks great on display too!
Man, it feels nice seeing the classic figure styles again
Edit: or at least the weapons.
Nothing like hearing Weekend Whip while trying to find out who was the green ninja!
The Orange Sword is a reference to prime empire
Yes Jangbriks, it is sacriligious to like the new ones better
Destiny’s Bounty was it.Can never be improved upon.
Glad I've got the movie version tbh
it took my 7hr to build iron doom and i built it wrong so i had to rebuild it
how r u so good jang?
The Background music for this vid is nostalgic...
This ship is almost perfect, some minor changes would be to make the shape a bit more accurate and add larger boosters to the back
Hey Jang, can you do a review of 31095? 3-in-1 Fairground Carousel. Wondering if it would fit in with my son's Legoland theme park.
glad it comes with the golden weapons
I guess it's nice that they're giving people another shot at getting the Destiny's Bounty as it looked in the first season/wave, but it's not worth it if you have the movie version.
Jang will you be purchasing and reviewing Diagon Alley? I really hope so
I just finished mine it is so cool
Jang, you are a legend
Do you have the Bounty from Posession? It has a feature similar and is really saisfying.
I'm not a fan of Ninjago in general but many of the sets are so good in play value and price value that I've bought several Ninjago sets over the years.
Hi jang, just a little question.
When is diagon alley coming????
Most youtubers only got it a couple of days ago from Lego. Since Jang buys his that means he will probably have to go to a store and won't get it early from Lego ambassador network. Probably coming within the week though.
Been able to get it for 90€ from Amazon was a great build
Hands down best Destiny’s Bounty of the three TV Show versions (yes I know they for some reason made the movie version the tv show version for like a season or maybe two but they’ve reretconned it back to the original design, obviously the movie version is one of the sickest Ninjago sets ever but this is just nostalgia great, so I think I prefer it over the movie version tho once again the movie version is probably the most awesome set from Ninjago)
I like this one over the movie one for the play features!
I love all the legacy sets
I just realized the Destiny's Bounty would blend into the Treasure Planet universe pretty well and I'm not sure what to do with this information.
