I used to drive 40 all the time. They need 3 lanes between Knoxville and Little Rock. No trucks in left lane.
I’m glad y’all commented about the slow moving vehicles in left lane. Probably is my biggest pet peeve. So many times the slow-lefters go 1/4 mph faster than the vehicle they want to pass. They should speed up and if they can’t the vehicle in the right lane should slow down and and let the slow-lefter pass.
It pains my ass when they do that.

Used to be truckers notified ahead when a cop was coming up behind with lights on... now they block cops. 😮😮😮😢😢😢😢
That was when most drivers had CB radios in the trucks. With the advent of cellphones not as many use them anymore. I basically stopped using mine in 1996. I was retired from driving in 2018 medically.
Not only did they notify their fellow truckers, they would often create rolling roadblocks to assist the troopers in stopping the runners. Sadly a thing of the past… the CB radio era is a shadow of its former self.
CB radios seem to be out of style with truckers in 2024.

My old man was a truck driver so I've been down the road a few times, I have never seen so many trucks in the hanging out in the left lane, there is a solution "cameras" and trucks with digital ID's and if your in that left lane you get a ticket and the company your pulling for first gets a warning then they also get a fine, then at the end of the day make it illegal, the cops should not have to be on the shoulder cause a truck is doing a mile an hour faster than the truck he's trying to pass

In larger cities there are two officers in each squad car.
In the US the cameras are for the benefit of both law enforcement and criminals... there will be video evidence to support the one that's being truthful about the arrest.

Wow the lane discipline of those truckers is horrible. They just run a rolling road block next to each other all day without even realizing it. There's not even hills there so you can't blame the road for any variation in speed. The guy in the right lane is going 70 and the guy in the left lane is going 70.000001.

Growing up I saw traffic signs that either said to keep right except to pass or slow traffic keep right on two lane highways with broken lines. I wish it was still in effect today.

Wow. I didn't know just how fast my 08 ES350 is. Although, I would think that a highway patrol car would be right on its tail the whole time. I've always heard that the HP cars would go at least 150mph.
Not only that but when the guy came out of the car he put his hands up and the officer still threatened to kill him curse on him threaten him everything totally uncalled for.
