Hello, this is my first venture into modular, other than the semi modular Moog Grandmother. Here is an unboxing video and my first patch. this is not a review, more of a simple demo.
Hope you enjoy my first fully modular journey.
Welcome to the modular rabbit hole, Tim 😄 It's an awesome system. Probably keep you busy for the whole of 2024 😊
Yeah it will, got a lot to learn, may I contact you for help if needed, cos' you know stuff. :)
Yes! You look right at home on that Tim, well done. In case you haven't checked 'em out already, may I recommend O.Z.Hall and Tim Shoebridge's system 55 vid's, which are really helpful, with some great patching and expansion ideas. Have fun!
Cheers, I have come across Tim Shoebridge, he knows a lot, should be helpful, I'll check out O.Z.Hall also. :)
cool sounds and video,,takes a bit of sussing out with the s trigs and v trigs for the adsr but a really nice synth once you get your head around it,,theres also the Bode frequency shifter they've brought out i believe it to be an add on for this system :)
Thank you for watching and commenting, yes I have a lot to learn, cheers for info on the Bode, I'll check it out.
@@DisciplinedCommotion You're welcome,,and i'm the same i'v got a system 55,,great piece of kit but a lot to get the head around,,especially if your new to modular,,mine has the 960 sequencer and controller modules,,,and i'm realizing i might need more modules to clock the 960 sequencer to other gear..maybe a clock divider module or something along those lines,,i guess theres probably a few modules the system 55 never came with or could of done with been added
I wish you luck. . The modular journey can be frustrating with some very steep learning curves. But also a lot of fun. That system looks like a great starting point.
Hello James, Yes, I have a lot to learn, but it has been fun so far. What gear do you use?
Bought the 15 and added the 960 saequencer and 962 switch...most fun ive had in years
Yeah great fun, I cant afford any new modules for it at the moment. Is it your first venture into modular?
Yes first dip into modular, spent years dithering over buying doepfer stuff and a case...when the system 15 got a price cut it was time to take a chance....bought the behringer BRAINS for xmas, makes a nice contrast to the moog sound check out other vids for a nice next module@@DisciplinedCommotion
@@Laserdave68C I have been looking at the 2600 eurorack module for contrast.
@@Laserdave68C I have been looking at the Behringer OSCILLATOR MODULE 1004 Legendary 2500 Series Dual Core VCO Module for Eurorack
Does it really come without any patch cables?
Yes, NO patch cables, sorry I didn't mention that aspect in the video, I did order some from another site at the same time just in case. Are you considering buying a modular system? Thanks for watching and commenting.
Congratulations!!! You're going to have so much fun. Looks like you have at least enough room in that case for a sequencer and sequential switch- I recommend it as a very worthy addition when you are ready. Sounds fantastic. Cheers!😄
Hi Brother, yes, gotta have those, that was the first thing I said when I found out it was on the way. Like you, I had mine before the rest of the system, with the 2600 and model D. Cheers
Yes will definitely be looking into those. :>)
Sounds pretty good. I'm playing around with Behringers Mutable knock offs at the moment.
Yeah, I think Behringer gear seems to me well built and sounds good, what Mutable knock offs do you have?
@@DisciplinedCommotion I have the chaos-marbles the brains-plaits from them and Rings from another builder.
@@RetireMentalityChallenged the brains looks interesting, I'v been looking at a video of it.
@@DisciplinedCommotion there aren't many about brains out there but for plaits checkout divkid's deep dive.
@@RetireMentalityChallenged cheers for the info
Oh nice! We’ve both been rewarded with some quality gear today! 🙏🏻🙏🏻 I bet it’s gonna sound ace
It sounds great, what have you acquired Rick?
@@DisciplinedCommotion I've pushed the boat out far and got a Hydrasynth Deluxe 😲. It sounds ace. Still learning my way around it. It's digital but can be made to be very organic and imperfect sounding when wanted... It's bloody lovely 🤣🙏
Hello man, I am Max, I have a 2600 vco, behringer 902 vca, one 1003 adsr, one Cm1a, a kassutronics ladder filter and i play with my keyboard ( motif, studiologic, korg ) via midi, the suond goes on without release, maybe i need a cv gate converter because the adsr it doesen't seem to work . Can you explain to me how to make it work ? Many thanks
Hi Max, I am quite new to modular and not sure about a lot of patching things, but there is a youtube channel called MonoDux he has helped me out with modular questions, here is a link www.youtube.com/@monodux/featured
Sounds great and good presentation .
Thank you very much.
You'll have hours of fun with that 👍. I have the 904A to go with my Neutron - gives it a Crave vibe. I also have the 110 for some Roland creaminess. I use my (semi)modular gear for a sound engine for my Roland AE-30 wind synth.
Yeah Mick its swallowing my time up, in a good way. The 110 does look cool, I will want another VCO in the not to distant future.
Getting my System 35 tomorrow. The 15 is really nice though.
ooh system 35, you'll have a few more patch options and stuff, have you had experience with modular before, I have a lot to learn. The routing doesn't go as I expected. :) Happy new year.
Sound great! Have fun Tim, the possibilities with modular are endless.👍
Yes it seems so, its a case of learning how to patch the modules which are in already, if it wasn't for a patch sheet I downloaded from Behringer I would be stuck.
That sounds really really cool 😎
Thank you, I have a lot to learn, should be fun though. :)
Looking forward to hearing what you do with it.
Thank you very much.
Welcome to the world of modular 😁
yeah, a lot to learn, you are quite new to modular? I see you have the 55 system.
Yes I have had mine a couple of months. I have added quite a few modules already 😁
