Imagine a scenario where Gohan fought Dabura to death. This what if scenario would take place instead of Majin Vegeta interrupting which eventually lead to Majin Buu. Would Gohan manage to defeat Dabura alone? In today's video, Qaaman gives a what if scenario and also a power scaling debate. In it, Qaaman breaks down Dabura from the Buu Saga of Dragon Ball Z vs the young adult Gohan. Qaaman also examines how this what if scenario would affect Dragon Ball Super and beyond.

Well, when Dabura spat at Gohan, Shin yelled for him to be wary of it, which made him lift his hand and throw his glove, so he wouldn't be one shoted by that ability since he now knew of it, but yeah whether or not he would have been able to fully win is another matter

Seriously, Dabura was more interested in draining Gohan's energy than turning him to stone during their fight. If he actually felt backed into a corner, he would've changed tactics and easily stoned him.
I definitely would say that if Gohan fought Dabura to the Death, Dabura would win. The only reason is due to Dabura not showing any signs of out of strength, versus Gohan who really struggled. So, if Gohan started to lose energy, Dabura could've used his stone spit attack to win.

@@daviddennie4086I'm not a Gohan fanboy. But Gohan still has his potential from the cell games, according to Goku, who's really perceptive. And Gohan was getting stronger.
The longer the fight went on, and the situation became dire, the more power Gohan was showing.
Mike from laughing stock made a good point that Gohan did a blast that dabura didn't even try to block because it was so powerful.
Dabura was around cell, Gohan was much stronger than Cell.
He just had to tap into that power, and he was slowly.
This wasn't a rage boost that went away. It was a permanent power increase. That was still there. He just has to bring it out, and he was doing it.
Dabura equals someone Gohan already beat.

Gohan wasn't angry when he beat cell. He was downbeat and despondent. His father was helping him focus his power. He wasn't enraged.
The rage was a catalyst to bring the power out. But after that, his state of mind didn't need rage.
I think if Dabura didn’t leave and Dabura was going all out, Gohan would’ve went all out and nearly lost but Goku definitely would step in even if it’s at the end to just finish the job.

I still go with the theory that Gohan against Dabura and Buu’s Shell was a really strong SSJ (especially after getting healed) that’s on the same level if not stronger than his SSJ2 at world tournament. And that power Goku told him to use is his absolute peak from when he killed SPC at the end. His SSJ2 during the cell games was so strong that when he got his arm injured he was still stronger than Cell. So when he transformed at the tournament he was equal to his injured/initial/“half power” SSJ2 self and when he got healed by Kibito that same power became his SSJ1. This is just my opinion tho.

How much power he had is a fair guess. But him not being ssj2 is the weirdest rumor that's spread. And it's so unnecessary. It adds nothing. Explains nothing. And is based on nothing.
Clearly Gohan himself is only around super perfect cell now. He does get stronger as he goes. Though dabura powers up a little too.

It makes sense that Gohan was injured. He was focused on speeding to Vegeta, sacrificing everything. Underestimated cell. And got hit without defending himself.

Just a quick question, have we seen Dabura at full power? While I have no doubts Gohan would still beat him it is worth mentioning. Yes he’s killed by Buu via Chocolate Beam, but that attack works on anyone even those stronger then the user. Imma not trying to propagate the Gohan would lose but merely say that we haven’t seen Dabura at full power and if Gohan could get out without turning to stone or being affected by some other magic attack.

Yes dabura was at full power when he shot his ki blast attack at Majin buu remember trunks said dabura ki was rising before he did his attack the real question to this debate is was super perfect cell at full power when he shot his Kamehameha at ssj2 Gohan remember he said he was gonna destroy the earth not the solar system plus super perfect cell is stronger than you fans think he wasn't even scared when Gohan turned ssj2 I don't believe dabura is as strong as people think but I do believe he's stronger than buu saga ssj2 Gohan because Vegeta said Gohan was a lot stronger when he was a kid a lot stronger means than Gohan in the Buu saga was definitely weaker than super perfect cell and since dabura didn't use his full power until he fought fat buu Gohan would have gotten smoked in my opinion but the Gohan fanboys would never believe that so acknowledge perfection!

Whis would have pin pointed Goku's location on King Kai's planet just like in the movie. When they discover Goku being dead, he could have tapped Goku on the head and bring him back to life, thus transporting him back to Earth to do the ritual.

Well the Prince's pride would be even more shattered, Goku could either knockout Vegeta or Vegeta submits and they probably kill Dabura and Majin Buu right there
Moro isn't a factor in any timeline where Buu stays in his ball. Moro only escaped prison in canon because the seal on his magic was destroyed alongside Kid Buu. In the years following, his magic slowly began returning to him until he gained enough back to break out. So if Buu never hatches, Moro has no magic and can't escape. He also said he was at the end of his life (though I don't know what this means in the context of a being who has lived for over 10 million years). Regardless, Moro would remain in prison and eventually die of old age in this scenario (or any other where Buu remains trapped).
Your comment may have changed how I view what if's forever. I need to re-read the exact line about Kid Buu. Where was the Kid Buu line said?
@@QaamansLand Moro's magic slowly returning a few years prior to his escape was stated by Moro himself in DBS Manga Chapter 44, about halfway through the chapter. The Moro arc is 6-7 years after Kid Buu died. The lore about Kid Buu is near the end of Chapter 49. The Lord of Lords was the one who sealed Moro's magic in the first place, 10 million years ago. He attempts to do so again, but discovers that he has lost the power. It is stated that when Buu split between good and evil, the sealing power ended up inside the evil half. Kid Buu took that power with him to the grave, and the seal on Moro's magic was broken. That's why Moro's magic began to return following Kid Buu's death.
This also explains Moro's absence in Future Trunks' timeline. Buu's hatching was prevented and he's still alive. So the seal on Moro's magic also remains intact. Unable to escape, Moro eventually dies of old age in his prison cell. Seemingly in the not-too-distant future according to his own speculation. Though it's anyone's guess what "soon" means for a being over 10 million years old.

Well I dont agree on SSj levels being the same, just because Gohan was a SSJ2 doesnt mean its not a difference.
You could also compare SSJ Namek Goku with Cell games Goku because they are both in SSJ but the power gap is huge.

Goku isnt a scanner , they can tell powers but not that accurate , its more of a ballpark and that park can still be huge.

Neither Gohan or Dabura were quite on the level of Super Perfect Cell during their fight here. Gohan probably would've won eventually, just given a rage boost and some extra effort.
Dabura kills Gohan, Babidi "controls" Vegeta and then fights Goku.
Then Supreme Kai gets killed by Dabura and Bu is resurrected.

I've never understood WHY people tried to downplay Dabura, and say that he's weaker than S Perfect Cell, or even weaker than P Cell. I simply don't see why it's impossible for him to be as strong or even stronger.

Yes, Vegeta said that the Gohan from then _would_ beat Dabura, but the Gohan from then DID beat Cell. So what we have is two guys that would theoretically lose to the same person. What does that tell us, other than that they're both weaker than him?

So Vegeta believes that if Gohan taps into the same power he used to defeat Cell, he would defeat Dabura. Which basically means that Dabura is at least Cell's equal, if not stronger because Goku had stated that he underestimated him.
Again, this follows the precedent of secondary antagonist being equal to or greater than prior main antagonist.
