Badass bro!
Thank you🔥🔥

I have to say, I'm very impressed with your usage of the tuning pegs! Charles has hipshot detuners on each of his tuning pegs, which makes quick and accurate pitch bending a lot easier (still not easy). You have to actually turn and nail the pitch yourself, which I thought would be super janky but worked well! Of course, those lightning fast tap arpeggios in the original video are insane, god knows I can't do em and I ain't bad, so I'd wager thats the biggest challenge of the original video.
Well done man!
Thank you so much! Yeah it was super hard, and to make matters worse, I had to keep using tuning pegs obviously, and that wore them down or something so they became really really stiff and greasy, and hard to turn even if I was just tuning it regularly, and not in a fraction of a second with my hand flying up and down the fretboard lol. I eventually put grease (I just rubbed a greasy screwhead I found) on it which brought it back to normal but that wore out within like 10min lol so I didn't bother buying grease not could I find more random greasy screws in my house 😂
@@jonaschan Have you ever considered the hipshot detuners? To be honest, back when I played 4 string I often thought of having one for the quick Drop-D, but Charles has them on all 4 strings and they're like $100+ each. I use a 6 string now and so I have enough range to not care, though harmonic bending is an awesome niche technique.
Yeah id like them but as you said they are very expensive unfortunately 😢. I don't think I've ever played in drop D and Charles also said on his live stream that only certain basses can have d tuners as the head has to have enough head room to fit them in but it would be nice to have them one day!
@@jonaschan That's true, though I'd say most "2 and 2" style headstocks can definitely fit them. Good that he clarified over stream though. I'm surprised you've never tried Drop D, it's a fun drop tuning! People typically stereotype it as a rock and metal tuning, but the single fret power chords you can make with it allow for all sorts of cool extended voicings on the upper register of the bass! Plus, it's just the E dropped down to D, so you wont need a setup or new strings to make it work well.
Yeah I had no idea about the whole bass head size and d tuner thing. I'll be sure to give drop d a try tho!
Can you do (when i play "something lit") from charles?
I'll see but no promises 👍👍
@@jonaschan oh you got it bro 🔥🔥
