Incredible! I can't believe the video only included the exact topic without any fluff or frills. I'm still figuring out FCPX from Premiere and videos like this are a huge help. Thanks!
Looks simple, but I am having trouble placing the gap on the upper timeline tiers. It always places the gap on the lowest timeline and I need to stack a couple gaps to make sure the video I'm working with is on the upper (3rd) level. I noticed your gap placement went right to the 3rd level timeline.
The gap clip in this video went to the primary storyline. A way to place a gap clip above or below the primary storyline is to put the gap clip in a secondary storyline.
if I place a gap in the middle of a video with audio it will automatically chop the audio and insert between the two chopped audio. how do I solve it ?
@@mewshop I really wish you would have answered the question that you had correctly assumed he was asking, as I have that same question. How do you do it without splitting the audio track?
@@AdrianLoganLive Right click or Control click on the clip and select Detach Audio from the context menu. Or select the clip and press Control Shift S on your keyboard. This will separate the audio clip from the video clip and allow you to add a Gap Clip to the video clip only.
This is how to make tutorials, one question one answer.

Are you asking how to add a Gap clip to video without effecting the audio?
