    During my studies I often wished that I would have more time to do certain things. I would then write these things down and this way I ended up with a list of things that I wanted to do but never had the time for. Now that I'm graduated I picked out the two most important things and that's where I invest my time in right now. Doing this really helped me after graduating

    Hi Jade, I was a mature student at uni (at 22 😂) and graduated this year and due to planning months in advance I had a job that I started a month after graduating. I couldn’t wait to see the back of uni it was so stressful and I had a lot of horrible people and fake friends throughout the 4 years. I haven’t retained anybody from uni! I am proud of my accomplishment due to being deaf and autistic it certainly was a struggle. I like the people I work with but planning on leaving because the job is mucking me about. I’m glad you mentioned about just going for something else if it’s not working out. We are all still young, even at 26, I can do this next step and do something else if that doesn’t work out!

    For anyone watching this who hasn’t graduated I wanted to share my hopefully positive take: since graduating I have been SO much happier, more fulfilled, and I have better friends and hobbies now than I ever did at university. There is a narrative that “uni is the best time of your life” and it is for some people, but it wasn’t for me and if it isn’t for you, know it can get better ❤

    Jadee this could not have come at a better time. I just graduated uni, achieved a few things i never thought i could, compromised a few things here and there. And now here i am completely lost, without any structure having crisis after my 9-5 doing things I dont really like just to have social life in new city. Thank you! I've been in a post-graduation rut since I graduated in March. I needed this video. I felt so exposed at 03:24. Yup, that was me for a while. Hi!
      Regarding on-screen subtitles: I think it is a great idea for accessibility. I enjoyed it. One issue that could happen is the overlapping of subtitles if someone wants to use the RUclips-generated subtitles in another language.

    • @greyraccoon
      @greyraccoon 7 месяцев назад +2

      Perhaps you could change to the RUclips subtitle things where it is optional but not the automatically generated ones because they provide… interesting subtitles.
      Personally I don’t mind, subtitles are LIFE but I can see why other people wouldn’t want it

I'm considering either doing an 18 months cross-over to children's nursing, or specialising in cardiology.

It won’t be long until I have some time off, I’m going to dedicate 2 weeks to not working and just try fill it with wonderful things and fully process leaving uni and going into the adult world. If anyone has any ideas of nice things I could do I’d appreciate it! Just going to do little things like practice yoga, go on hikes, get my nails done, maybe get my hair done, travel a little bit etc.!

      If you’re crafty maybe find a local craft shop/studio and do a session! I have a local pottery shop where you can paint the pieces yourself or another studio where you spin the pottery yourself which is super cool. Or a knitting, crochet, felting workshop or something similar as I imagine you probably can’t do something like that with your normal work hours (ok so my grammar is appalling but we vibe :) enjoy your time off!

      meritocracy is indeed a myth (!), but I think it's important not to adopt a victim mentality where we believe that certain options are just never available for 'people like us'. there are SO many opportunities (which of course, are accessed more easily by certain people) and the first step is to even believe that you're worthy of attaining them
