This was so fun to make and quick too! I had so much fun making one with birthday and mother's day cards from my kids (some store bought and others homemade). Anyway, I'm so excited to start another one with Christmas cards! Thanks for the inspiration and guidance!
You always make anything you do look so easy! I've never tried the stack the deck system before but after this series is complete, I plan to put an album together for my first granddaughter. She's only 5 days old but it will be a great gift for her parents this Christmas. Thank you, Amy for all the hard work you put into your videos. I don't know how you do it all!
These videos are so addicting!!! I just ordered a bunch of basic crafting supplies i.e. Mat, ruler, knife, envelope punch board, and so on. I have not ordered paper. I want to be able to flip through it. Hopefully this weekend. I want to make a mini album for my baby niece's first milestones for Christmas. Thank so much for the inspiration and guidance Maymay!
Wow, that's a really fantastic idea! I would love to see pics of it when you make it. I'm new to the journal making myself so I'm trying to get all kinds of ideas for what to do with them & this one is very unique. Just wanted to let you know I thought it was a really cool idea.
WOW, that binding system turned out amazing. There is NO way I'd be able to accomplish that but I cant wait to see how this turns out. So far, very very nice
Very exciting! Love these series videos! This is going to be so fun! Wonderful binding system btw.....will have to try this. Have a wonderful night! Smiles!! Becca
Looking good so far!! Love the paper. In my viewing of the 100 or so videos on mini albums, I have found this hinge system to be the most popular. Can't wait for the other videos!!
Woah! That is a chunky mini!! Stack the deck is my fave. It's going to be a very captivating series and I'm looking forward to seeing again all the Christmas cards and goodies you received!
I'm a newbie making envelope albums n this is a challenge in soon going to master.....I don't know about anyone else but I have to make several of basically everything I make to get locked in my brain. This was a wonderful tutorial out of the almost 40 years using a computer I've never made a post to anything........not even on facebook. When I get crafting everything wrong with my world becomes right. Thank you for this opportunity Peggy
This is so nice I made a spine like this at one of my classes. Took a lot when I started smiles scrapbooking smiles thank you for sharing this to refresh my memorie
Wow...this is so interesting! I am terrible with a craft knife so maybe I could handle this binding system. I can hardly wait for the next video! Thanks for sharing and you make everything so easy to understand!
I love all of your tutorials! This is the first video I've seen in this series so I'll have to watch the rest and make this album because since watching your tutorials I want to get more into scrap booking and making my own mini albums! Thank you for your detailed tutorials and creative mind!
You are off to a great start Amy! I have used both stack the deck by Laura and the hidden hinge by Kathy Orta. I love them both! I am like Gareth, I didn't want the video to come to an end. I'm anxiously awaiting the next video! lol
Wow, I have used the stacked hinge system before, but mine didn't look as even as yours! Lovin' the series so far, can't wait for the next video!...hugs....Bobbie
Bobbie Harrison I got a tip from a viewer that said to use temporary adhesive for the bottom piece as you stack them to keep them straight. Maybe that will help!
I love all your mini series. The bonding can we also do it like accordion style? We can glue the inside one and the one the stick out stock the paper?.
A couple of notes I would like you to consider. I made two of your envelope mini albums. I noticed that if you don't put glue in between the score tape for the covers, they tend to bubble. So, I put the score tape around the edges and some kind of liquid glue inside of that in hopes it wont bubble (we'll see.) Secondly, I use a cheap glue stick on top of the score tape, it gives me so wiggle room (found this on Jenofeve designs.) This seems to help very well. Also, I have discovered using double sided designer paper as my hinges (or stack the deck), it makes the inside of the book look nice (found on Kathy Orta King.) Just something to think about. I love your Mini Albums. Thanks for sharing. Mylene
Hi Mylene, I now use Art Glitter Glue as my go to adhesive, I don't even remember how long ago I made this album so I am sure I did things way different back then. Thanks for the tips! I love Jen btw!
MetalScrappinChick This particular chipboard was from the back of a paper pack. I just recycle what ever I have. I have even used cereal boxes and thin cardboard before. Thanks!
I love the stack the deck binding system!! I started out using it over a year ago. I was making the TP mini albums. I was looking for something different to do with them I was binding then with the rings., boring! I came across a video by Ginger of My Sisters Scraper. It was called Vertical TP Mini Album. She uses the Stack the deck binding, by Laura Denason ( u were correct) to make the TP minis. I made one and I was hooked! It is such an easy binding for almost any mini album. Your album is looking awesome! I'm off to see part 2. Have a Merry Christmas! Thanks for another awesome video!!
Great job so far :) One little tip. Put some repositionable tape on the back of the Binding piece that is on the mat so it doesn't slide around while you add the next piece. I can't wait to see this one finished.
It's huge. I can't wait for the next episode. You really scared me using the cutting tool to peel off the backing. Be careful with those precious hands.
1 1/2" piece for the first 2 pages. After that, each piece (2 pages) will increase by 1". So if you have 4 pages, you will only need 2 in your stack, The first one 1 1/2" and the second one will be 2 1/2 inches. If you have 6 pages you will need 3 in your stack... 1 1/2", 2 1/2" and 3 1/2". You have to always increase by 2 pages.
YOU ARE SUCH A GOOD TEACHER, ALWAYS MAKE EVERYTHING MAKE SENSE, SO ENJOY WATCHING YOU...
I made a baby album with this binding method super easy. Love all your videos.
This was so fun to make and quick too! I had so much fun making one with birthday and mother's day cards from my kids (some store bought and others homemade). Anyway, I'm so excited to start another one with Christmas cards! Thanks for the inspiration and guidance!
I can't wait to try this. I'be saved Christmas cards for years.. too cute. I love the binding system..

WOW, that binding system turned out amazing. There is NO way I'd be able to accomplish that but I cant wait to see how this turns out. So far, very very nice
***** I promise, if you sit down and work it out one time the rest of the time it will be easy.
Very exciting! Love these series videos! This is going to be so fun! Wonderful binding system btw.....will have to try this. Have a wonderful night! Smiles!! Becca
Rebecca Shinas-rehberg Thanks Becca!

Nyoka Smith I think it is really easy too, I am trying to make this album much more simple than it looks. Thanks!
Woah! That is a chunky mini!! Stack the deck is my fave. It's going to be a very captivating series and I'm looking forward to seeing again all the Christmas cards and goodies you received!
Sandrishify I really like that Stach the Deck binding too. It is surely chunky!

Very cool so far. Love using Laura's stack the deck. Also maybe you can try the hidden hinge by Kathy orta. Super easy as well.
scrapsandthings1 I like the hidden hinge but I think it may be a little more involved than this one. I will try it out some time though. Thanks
I just ordered my magnets you just saved me a ton of money. I was buying the basic grey packs and was super expensive thank you so much!!!
angel wingz sweet!! I know Jamie has good prices on the things I use from her.
I love all your mini series. The bonding can we also do it like accordion style? We can glue the inside one and the one the stick out stock the paper?.
Doris Ramos You can do accordion style, I think that would work just fine.
I love to cover and can't wait to see the next video.
Rae from Mandeville Thanks

Awesome! I hate when part 1 ends and I have to wait for part 2! lol
Marji Miller So sweet, it's coming soon!
I have used the stack the deck binding of Laura's before you will love it. Looking great so far can't wait to see what you do. God Bles :-}
Teresa Luck I do like it, I was afraid it would be bulky but it really isn't. It is really easy.
Where do you get your magnets cause any I have bought won't still between the papers.
Did you use paper or cardstock for the designer paper?
I'm just curious where you get your chipboard at? Thanks!!
MetalScrappinChick This particular chipboard was from the back of a paper pack. I just recycle what ever I have. I have even used cereal boxes and thin cardboard before. Thanks!
Witch paper trimmer is the best to cut 12x12 paper with out get stuck

Denise Maynard I too like the way this binding turned out. Thanks so much for watching!!
Great job so far :) One little tip. Put some repositionable tape on the back of the Binding piece that is on the mat so it doesn't slide around while you add the next piece. I can't wait to see this one finished.
Esther C Great tip, I even shared it with a viewer since you told me! Thanks!
You are so welcome :)
It's huge. I can't wait for the next episode. You really scared me using the cutting tool to peel off the backing. Be careful with those precious hands.
sparrowsfriend I will be more careful, I know better. Thanks for taking care of me! It is huge!
Excellent tutorial!! Where do you get your magnets from? Cant wait for #2
angel wingz I get mine from goo.gl/FzKPGh Punch Place Plus
great tutorial!
An easier way to figure out the math is 1 1/2 " for 2 pages and then add an inch for each 2 pages after that. It is so much easier.
OK....So your chipboard pieces are all 6 3/4 inches high? And the back and front two pieces are 7 " wide?
521LakeStreet That is correct.
***** One more question, what is the formula for figuring out the stacked deck hinge? I must have missed it....
1 1/2", 2 1/2" and
3 1/2". You have to always increase by 2 pages.
Thank you! Sandy
wouldn't it be easier to put them together then fold?
MayMay where do you get your score tape --would you be so kind to let me know--thank you hugs
I would like to know where you get the sticky tape from too. Thanks for a great video!
I believe she says she gets it from Punch place plus. They have a website as well as am Etsy shop
