That has been the question most discussed in below comments. It is not an easy yes/no. Most State parks prohibit drones. I personally did not see any restrictions posted and the DJI App did not show a restriction. However, the Park Rangers would probably had said no. Take the time to look at some below comments and I think you will find many comments confirming you can not fly there. I follow the law and obey posted signs. Having seen none, I did not think it was a problem. For example, when I went to Joshua it is posted no drones. So you don't see a drone video of Joshua on my site. Hope this kinda helped.
Did you get harassed by the park rangers or navy for flying there? My friend was telling me that he wanted to fly his drone there. I told him that he probably wouldn't be able to because it's a national park and next to some naval facilities. Was this an issue for you?
I looked and did not see any postings and did not ask. The lighthouse is past the Naval facility and I did not fly near it. I am guessing if I had asked the natural reaction would have been "no". For example, I asked at Joshua Tree and was told I could not. I checked the drone app and it did not show the area as being restricted. I usually go by that. I also tried to fly near the boarder when there. It was restricted and the drone won't launch when it is not allowed. Hope that helped answer your question.

@@dordever Thanks for your concern. As you can see, this is an older video and I have learned much since then. I realize that now. You may be glad to know, I am studying for my 107 and I never intended to violate the rules. We learn as we go. I really do appreciate the info and trust me I have taken heed to my error. Cheers.
I thought it was prohibited to fly drones there. I want to go fly my drone there but I've been there and there is a sign that says no drone. Also, AirMap shows the area as a no-fly zone in red specifically over the lighthouse.
Fort Rosecrans is a no fly zone but the tip where the lighthouse is (Cabrillo) is outside the zone according to GEO zone map on DJI app? Hum... I looked around and did not see a "no drone fly zone" posted anywhere when I entered the area of the LH.

@@rexseem381 I am not sure how to link a picture but I use the DJI GO 4 app for my Mavic Pro 2 and everything past the base is not restricted on this app. Also, my drone will not take off in a restricted zone???
