Doug is the GOAT. Won at poker not just against Daniel but in poker in general... and left up to live a happy life! The dream! Congratulations to him.
With the side bets, he may have drained a reasonable chunk of the entire poker economy.
@@stt5v2002 I wonder what % of the money was on each side of the public prop bets (or just the bets DN/Doug didn’t place if DN placed any, obviously we know Doug did) I wish we could somehow see that, like how Vegas or certain books will say how what % of the $ is on the spread/ML of each team. We know quite a bit of the $ was on KC in the SuperBowl for instance (though with all the props, I am curious how much the books won or lost overall on the SB.
Anyway a bit of a tangent there. It was big that Doug cleared the 10BB/100 line I think it was? That people were betting? I know some people just laid odds like say 4-1 or whatever (I have no idea what those were) but I do know there was a BB/100 Doug had to win at so people could bet even money while it still being a “fair” bet in their eyes. I say “fair” because we don’t truly know what Doug’s winrate would be. Very educated guesses were made, but even still they could be off by a decent amount either way.
I remember them saying Doug had to win $800K over the 25K hands for the “standard” BB/100 line bet to win, which he did.
I don’t think there were many massive bets on this honestly, people don’t like betting on things that take months and months to finish. I’m sure there were a few big ones, but I’d be very shocked if there were many 6 figure bets.
What is more interesting to me, is how much did Doug pay his coaching team. He said he worked with two main HUNL guys, and interacted mostly with one IIRC. But there was a team that had training software etc, and there were a few other people involved on smaller stuff.
DNegs also had a team of guys, and he also had training software. He mentioned the software is private, which you’d expect. I’d imagine beside just using PIOSolver, Doug also used private software to train and run sims etc. He talks about that too.
And there was a ton of time put in to all of this. The software obviously was probably a bitch to make, I can only imagine how long it took. And these guys Doug worked with knew the person who made it I believe? And I’d imagine DNegs had a different software program but anything like that that’s private means it’s being used by high stakes crushers and is worth a fuck load of money.
I’m sure theres similar software floating around out there that many people have made, but Doug went to some of the best HUNL players in the world etc.

Oh and OP I apologize for posting this stuff in your thread! Congrats Doug, awesome win, super entertaining. It was nice to see you back in the streets temporarily. I truly hope you find your next passion in life that gives you joy, and hopefully it comes with monetary gain! But for now just work on finding the first thing. It may take a while, but you’ll find it. Keep us updated!

You can look at the pot size on the screen to know the bet size but yeahh

It is amazing how large a role that chance plays, even in a 25,000 hand challenge. It is easy to imagine five of these hands going the other way. In that world, the total is somewhat close going into the last few sessions.
Yeah, but you’re basically saying if Daniel had all the coolers go his way he would be breaking even. That says a lot about just how much Doug outplayed him overall.
First thx for the great videos! Super entertaining. I used to play online but when all the sites started locking down I stopped. I really want to start playing online again but have been having trouble finding a site I like and feel comfortable on. Any suggestions? I live in the mid west Indiana to be exact but I might get a vpn if that helps me get better access.

So how much was the challenge bet for? Was it just you win or lose during the 25k hands or was the challenge worth a certain bet amount for the winner? If so how much was the challenge for?
There was no side bet directly between Doug and Daniel. It's just the results of the hands. However, they did both bet on themselves (with odds) against random people for unknown amounts of money. So if Daniel had come out a dollar ahead somehow he would have won some bets at something like 4 to 1 odds.
Nice to see Jamie and Josh calling DNEGS hands before they see it.

Not sure why Negreanu agreed to the majority of the hands being played online. If it were heads up and televised with both players playing in front of each other the majority of the hands then Daniel would've had the advantage.

He's rubbed me the wrong way for some time now... I was somewhat a big fan of him over the years I watched him win the U.S Poker championship a couple of times I watched him come up over the years to become a great player. But he has a way of saying things and there's certain comments he makes that really annoy me. I was glad to see Doug Polk took him to the cleaners
