I like Eric Persson's aggression and banter, but watching him over the last year I'm making an educated guess that the pros love having him in the game as the Big Fish.
Eric uses a lot of old school tricks that work once or twice around, but the pros catch on quick and then the tricks become a liability. After they catch on they begin and taking hook, line and under shorts from him.
He is wild for sure. I’d say he is arguably more a catalyst for action than just a fish. Sure, the best players have no reason to fear him but you need to handle large fluctuations in your stack playing such a wild character.
Never used to liek Robl during the HSP days. He was a big nit and took forever when it's his turn, plus the legendary Quads vs Quads loss was hilarious. In mid 2010s, he improved his game a lot. When he battled with Matt Kirk on Super High Roller Cash Game, that was very entertaining too. Now, I'm happy for him. He deserves respect in the poker community.
When I first saw Patrick I thought he was mediocre and a bit soft. Recently I watched a compilation of him playing numerous big hands and I had him all wrong. He has guts and he's very sharp, a bit like an assassin that says little but gets the job done.
this is a joke right? hes literally the most scared player ive ever seen. Patrik exploited him folding by making him fold his jacks. Go watch HSP he folds everything
This is a joke right? Robl usually plays at even higher stakes and didn't even need the add on. booking 1.8m profit = easily exploitable @@smash2zero 🤣🤣
the 33 vs QQ hand is a fold for Patrick on the River. There was a very very similar hand between Jason Koon and Doug Polk where Polk had 77 and Koon had 33 and both had full houses. Action was very similar, down to the bet sizes. Koon found the fold with 33 and Polk explains very well in his video analysis why it's the correct play.
It is an absolute fold. Patrick loses to 6 combos of KQ, 3 combos of JJ, 3 combos of QQ, and 1 combo of KK. That's 13 hands. Even if we eliminate JJ, QQ, or KK based on the assumption that Robl would've sized up his raise because of the 4k straddle that still leaves 6 hands that Antonius loses to. The questions Antonius should've asked himself are these: What hands do I beat besides a bluff? QJ? AJ? Pocket pairs below JJ? Would Robl call a pot-sized bet on the turn and then raise a pot-sized bet on the river with any of those hands on a paired board?
Gotta respect Antonius. He looks exactly the same as he did 13 years ago. So many of these pros let themselves go and its just kinda weird watching severely aged men playing poker
Look at Patrick's face right before he says call you can see so much is racing through his mind. Like it's almost like gun behind his head. Knowing you could be wrong.
Great seeing Peerson lose like that. The game was more enjoyable to watch without him also. I do enjoy that he plays fast tho and doesn't take forever to make every decision.

This standing game is just ridiculous..even if you win and sit down you still got foos nuts to the left and right of you all up on your breathing space..lol
I remember when Robl was a young annoying Dork wanting so bad to be cool, but he worked hard with some of the best players in the world to converse with and it payed off handsomely. Congrats kid
Yong's call with the QQ is a pure donk play against the AA. He beats AK suited..... that's it. Only other two hands he can have is KK and AA unless he thinks he has complete air, which he will practically never have.

Why in the world Antonius bet after he got the full house 7's over aces? Just my opinion, but I think he'd have gotten even more money from Gonzales if he checked it and allowed Gonzales to bet.
Im not sure if anyone remembers this hand but patrick also loses a hand similar to the 33 vs qq hand. It was with ivey where he had trips and ivey had a full house. Basically in both situations Antonius can only beat a bluff.
