    I like everything in this lesson. I can relate better as I get better with my new swing. It coming together and it’s exciting. Quick story from today’s round against my chum. We’re playing a shortish par 4, about 340 yards. Out of bounds and bunkers all down the left side, open but several trees near the green on the right. And Man is it narrow. He’s “over-the-top” and “flippy”, so his drive goes about 230y. My miss is left so I usually go 3-I or 2-hybrid off the tee. But lately I’ve been going 3w off the tee. I have it set up “fade biased” so it works. I proceed to bomb it down the right side with the fade, all the way past those trees on the right, 25 yard from the green. 310 yards off the tee. I pull out the rangefinder and measured the time zone between out balls. And for the rest of the day, if he ever talked and trash, I would just say, “82 yards with a 3-wood.”🤣

    Great video Andy very well explained.
    I keep getting told all the time I just use my arms to swing .which is probably why I only hit my Driver 200 yards. The way you explained the swing in this video really made sense to me . Of to the driving range I go . Keep up the good work

    You're so right about the timing going when you try and slow down the swing.
    I've tried it at the range and it feels so wrong it actually becomes harder to hit the ball straight.
    I will practice it some more in the future though.
    I think what you're explaining about the swing movement could be similar to how a catapult works, the power comes from the inner rotations which are slower but compound the rotation speed of the extremities.
    Love your videos Andy!

    • @andycartergolf
      @andycartergolf  2 года назад +1

      Correct. The body doesn’t move at 100mph but the clubhead may do so the inner rotation creates the catapult like resistance and speed

    You are one of the first I’ve seen that includes the arms-hands in a powerful swing explanation. Most are just stuck on trying to explain the arms-body connection.
    Good job!!
    Next-importance of the connection with the ground in a aggressive start to the swing including trigger.
    And then head position considering eye dominance- no one talks about this. lol

Keep those good suggestions coming!

    Love the key bottoming out piece where you compare it to an iron as in the club bottoms out center stance then goes naturally up from the low spot as long as you stay behind the ball. It keeps me from extending to flat as I hit the ball.

    As always Andy, great video, would love to see the same from the Tee and tee heights but with 3/5 wood and maybe hybrids, is it the same rule with the driver hitting up on the ball, but once again Andy keep these lessons coming, they are so good.

    I've been an over the top golfer most of my golfing life and one thing I found to help me is feeling after I go up at the top is letting the butt end of the club coming down into my right knee or close to it (for a right handed golfer) then turn through the shot.

    I really liked how you separated the hands/arms and larger muscles to explain their role in the swing. Could you do a video targeted specifically at swing path with the driver? I’ve been told to drop the club in the downswing to “5 o clock” then swing up and out to the right. This isn’t producing great shots for me. I realize you must continue rotating while you do this, but I can’t seem to get the timing correct. How do you teach an in to out swing path to your students? Would love a video dedicated to this subject. Thanks again for a great channel! 👊🏻

      But in short swinging to 5 o clock then swinging out will not produce consistent results I’m afraid

    ok, maybe someone can help me. I am sure first 3 tips i do them. Tee hight, ball position, hitting up. Ball flight is nice and high. But its always a slice, i do hit it with the slice around 200-210 meters, so i know distance is there if it would go straight. where do i look for further mistakes i am doing?

    • @andycartergolf
      @andycartergolf  2 года назад

      1st 2 questions I always ask are:
      1) is it definitely a slice or is it a push slice?
      The reason is these are generally 2 different swing faults.
      2) Do you know your swing path?
      You need to know your faults before fixing. A slice is a consequence of the fault… DM me your swing on Instagram- Carters Golf
