- Wednesday, 5/14/14 - It is Spring. And therefore it is SUPPOSED to be severe weather season. So as a lover of severe weather in a severe deficit, the evening's "slight" risk required my attendance. Even if it was just high winds & heavy rain. And although the knock out punch of a severe thunderstorm was not experienced, I did bear witness to many spectacular things. Magical things. So come along & see fer yerselves! I ain't makin it up. I swears it!

Always entertaining. Never a dull moment. Well done, Matt! ROCK on.
SO FREAKN AWESOME!! Absolutely love it!! REALLY AMAZING!! Talk bout dedication, thanks for going out getting AWESOME SHOTS in this horrible weather
Clearly the Howard Stern of aviation commentary ;) LOVE your videos, thanks for sharing.
Excellent and hilarious video again, Matt! I hope you weren't on the top floor of the parking garage. Lightning can be dangerous!
OK, I'm hooked. Plane and storm spotting two of my favorite past times. I subscribed! Your commentary is a hoot!
Hey Matt! Awesome video as usual! I'm so glad that it's summer now because I like you I enjoyed thunderstorms as well. Happy spotting hope to see many more videos from you!
Matt I too enjoy your videos!
The commentary makes a perfect addition to some good airplane footage.
Awesome videos! I was down in Atlanta a few years ago. One night, we had the mother of all thunderstorms! It was sweet!
I'm with you, Matt. Crazy weather and airplanes is nucking futs! Love that shit!
Dude, absolutely! My favorite thing on earth! Thanks buddy
Great job Matt. Epic weather
OHHHH MYYYY GOD!!!! that speedbird!!!! AHHHHH...im gonna scream..
I saw 10 or so lightning bolts today, but nothing like what comes your way (usually). Conversely, I would like to see "go Russel!" Have a layover next month in my old home town of Seattle. Maybe I'll get to see him then. I may have to try the northside next trip to ATL, especially if the approach is to the east. All the arrivals on the southside are too far for my 200mm.
I love the rush of all the airlines trying to get out of the airport before they have to delay flights
COME ON RUSSEL GO!!!! Love the commentary. Your best video yet.
Really!? COOL! Thanks man! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I promise you I can do better though. Just wait until we get some truly severe weather
It really sounds like have a rough job filming the aircraft and fighting the winds and rain at the same time! But I nevertheless envy you with all of my heart! LOL! You are such a lucky guy being able to see and film all of this action this close! Those storm clouds looked awesome once again even though it was spring instead of summer. Awesome video once again!
As usual, beautiful video!! 👍
The weather isn't too better here either. I'm a sucker for these severe T-Storms!!!!! Liked man!
Thanks buddy! Severe weather = "good" weather to me. Unfortunately we haven't seen much of it this spring. I'm trying to be patient because I know it's just a matter of time. But I'm not a patient man dagnabbit!
Epic video Matt! That is some nasty looking weather down in the ATL! Great video as always! :)
Thank you sir! Unfortunately the weather on this particular evening was more bark than bite. We are due for a severe weather outbreak & when it happens I'll be there for sure.
I can't think of a better combination than planes and weather
Awesome work again Matt! That weather made for some really interesting shots!
Absolutely! There's nothing better than the combo of aviation & weather. It always makes things more interesting & more fun. As well as more dangerous. Glad you liked man! Have a great weekend!
Best commentary EVER!
Love the 777 at the end! Great video!
Thanks buddy! Yeah man, that Tambo-bound 777 was fantastic!
Great video as usual Matt!! Don't know if you heard or not Virgin Atlantic begin service to ATL in October. Gonna get even more variety.
Thanks Benjamin! As a matter of fact, I have heard about Virg. Thank god, as the one thing we need most is mo variety!
Awesome Video and great filming work! LIKED!! :-)
perfection matt. wish we had more rain here then we do. nothing from march in the way of weather.not good here healthwise. seem to be going down hill. thank you for your hard work matt see you soon good looking
Thanks Evan! Glad you enjoyed. Yeah, your weather sucks worse than any other climate in this country. Hot. No rain. NO storms. Screw that!
Great video!! Now that Virgin Atlantic is starting ATL service in October you'll have another British airline to capture!!:)
Hell yeah man! I'm gonna call it "Virg". I'm so pumped I've already named it. Thanks buddy, glad you enjoyed it
Nice storm action next storm i expect footage of the tower getting struck by lightning but BA777 was sweet the crabing must have been a sight
Thanks Luke! If only I was lucky enough to witness the tower getting struck. Unfortunately I've been in a massive severe weather drought, so those kinds of sights have been nonexistent. But it's bound to change & I'll be there when it does
Amazing video man!
Thanks Bobby! I wish I could join you guys this weekend.
I love how you always scream at different aircraft, so they accelerate faster :D Seems to work (well, sometimes)
HA! Thanks man! It doesn't always work. Typically when it doesn't, I end up screaming for several minutes. You guys never get to see those moments though, as they get editted out. Perhaps another blooper reel is in order. . .
I would definitely wanna watch the blooper reel ! But actually every single video of yours is a blooper reel cause they're funny as hell !!!
Matt, you made me climax!! It was awesome with the adverse weather effects and your dialogue. I like the Tambo bound 777 so much you should have stayed with it and just let the WOD fuck you hard. Several high points in this one, with the Reginald/752/Speedbird saving the day by bringing marvel-worthy vapor. BTW, the 757-200 non dubs is my favorite of the 757 family.
OH Big B! Was it good for you? I figured you'd be all over Mr. Tambo-bound. I always think of you when I snag that one. Glad you enjoyed this 'un. It was a lot of fun. The only thing missing was solid lightning. So you're a 752 non dubber? Well I'll be damned. I should catch more of those just for you. Next time!
Awesome Video as usual. I got a question when and what time does Korean Airlines bring their a380? And would you happen to know which gate it parks at. I flying to Atlanta in August and would love to see it.
Great job keeping the videos rolling! I could get used to the 3X weekly uploads! Do you know if there is any truth in the rumor that AeroMexico pulled out of Atlanta?
Thanks Ben! Unfortunately I fear the upload frequency is going to decrease over the next 2 weeks things will be getting busy at work. But don't you worry, I'll be back at it - hard core - 3 weeks from now. And I still have a couple left to upload so stay tuned
love your videos man
Thanks buddy! I'm glad you enjoy them as I have WAY too much fun making them. Stay tuned as there will be many more
Matt Cochran
and your funny too
Matt Cochran i have friends who are pilots for delta one flies a 767 to Amsterdam and the other one flies a a330 to Tokyo
AirTrans last flight is December 28 and it will be Flight 1 from ATL to Tampa! So you might be able to catch it!!
I will more than likely catch that one. Even though I'm so damned tired of Citrus I can't even stand to shoot them anymore. But for historical purposes, I'll have to snag that one.
In this video, did ATC move all the departing traffic to 26L because of the storm on the southside?
Has Air France ever brought the A340-300 to ATL before?
As a matter of fact they used to roll the A340 back in 2007-08. We'd occasionally get a A340s or A330s back in the early 2000s. Not sure when they made the change to the 777
Now now, don't be mean to the 757s!!!
Why really the MD 80 elevators are up
You sound like a football announcer
