Thanks a lot man! Yeah I was very impressed with myself when the end of the video came out the way it did. I hadn't originally intended to do that but on a whim I threw some sh*t together. Then I watched it & told myself I'm a genius
I've always found your fascination with severe weather activities curious. While the rest of us chickens are seeking, or even diving for shelter, in the basement level of a structure to secure our safety, you are actually out and about celebrating the occasion. Next, you'll be suggesting, that you're going to be recreating Benjamin Franklin's experiment by flying a door key on a kite string in an electrical storm.
Its just another one of those things that runs in my blood, ya know? Its equivalent to the aviation obsession & ties in nicely with it - so to speak. Being out there during a severe weather event is like having my 2 favorite things, simo-taneous. Ya know I'd like to fly a modern day kite - the hated drone or UAV - and let the lightnin use it for target practice! Thanks good buddy! I really appreciate it
Thanks a lot man! Yeah I miss my vids too. Life has been so hectic over the last few months. Bad weather, a flu-ridden wife, a super long commute home from the day job. . . all of these factors make my videos take a backseat sometime. Good news is the days are getting longer & the weather is getting better, so you'll be seein more soon!
bad weather always means good spotting ;p i hope she feels better soon :/ i know how that feels, i always have to go through 285 in the morning and afternoon to get to and from school. i can't wait :D
I watched this thinking this looked a lot like the storm that blew through ATL as my wife and I were returning from New York on our anniversary. Then I checked the date and this was the exact storm! We had just boarded a Delta 737 bound for Pensacola still at the gate when this blew through. I remember looking out the window and the rain was blowing sideways and the ramp workers were huddled under the terminal. It was over in a matter of minutes. We were about an hour late departing.
Thanks a lot Michael! Yeah dude. The Doors are one of my faves & I use them in my videos more frequently than any other band I think. As a matter of fact I used "Wintertime Love" in my recent Snow video. One of these days I'll use Waiting for the Sun (for springtime). The possibilities are endless
Matty, just a heads up, UPS has borrowed some spermwagon MD11s from Western Global, and we are currently loading one out to ATL. Tail N543JN. This plane leaves Louisville SDF at 3:01 AM and ATL is about 1 hour flight time. I don't know how long we will have the spermwagon tri-holers, so if you can find the opportunity to get to the airport by 4am you might get a treat.
OH HELL!!! Man, why do these things have to happen under the cover of darkness. Is this the same flight that departs ATL @ midnight? Or is there a chance to catch its return to SDF?
Matt, you crack me up!! 😂😂😂😂😂😎😎😎😎😎👍 Hyundai should make a commercial where it actually beats a jetliner!! Wouldn’t make any sense but it would be a fun commercial!! 🚙🛫✈️🛬⛈
Thanks man! I agree. We do need more heavy action on the north side. FedEx, UPS & the 1 DHL/ABX are nice but it sure would be great to see more 747s up there.
All I have for plane spotting is Cleveland. 737s, A319, A320, A321, CRJ-200, CRJ-700, MD-88. Those are the only planes until Iceland Air starts flying here
We get a heap of narrow bodies in ATL. The widebodies make their appearance too but you have to be very lucky to catch them whenever you get the chance. But what I am most excited is the A350-900XWB! I really want to catch that and I can't freaking wait! Also I love Iceland Air 767s, they look good!
Yeah dude. NO doubt!! You can go hours on end w/out a heavy jet at ATL if you show up at the wrong time or stick to the northside for too long. But that A350 is sexier than hell. Not that I wanna have intercourse with it, mind you. I just mean it looks very handsome.
Thanks a lot Joe! I've missed my videos too, curiously & sadly. Sometimes life just gets so busy & then the weather doesn't cooperate or the wife is sick & wants you to be her slave. . . . its rough bein a 39 yr old young man, I tell ya! But don't worry, I'm always lurking in the background waiting for you to forget about me. Then BAM! I'm still here. Now that the weather is improving I expect to be pushin out more vids more frequently, so stay tuned & find out next
First, ol' Matty, thank you for remembering us who are severe weather AND av geeks. Second, your fine editing skills were eclipsed with the current upload. Good stuff! Finally, I predict a thoroughly enjoyable 2018 season thanks to your dedication to your subscribers.
Thanks a lot mang!!! You know I'm always lookin out for freaks like us. Those on the outside don't understand. They can't fathom what a burden the duality of our passions can be. Can't wait for the 2018 Dixie Alley Season!! Maybe this year I'll catch my first twister at Hartmaynard!
Matt, this was AMAZING! I was laughing my ass off at 22:13 hahahaha you musta been soaked after that lol! You totally deserve an award for the time lapses at the end, looking forward to more! Long live ATL!
Thanks Michelle! I had a lot of fun makin that. Curiously, it wasn't something I originally planned - er at least the Doors part wasn't. But tossed it in on a whim & it gave me chills
Keep putting the time lapses in theyre awesome. Also I would love to buy a hoodie if you ever produce some merchandise with, "I am tripodless, I am human tripod." on it. Or other great phrases or sayings that grace your videos.
Jonathan Kangas Thx a lot Jonathan! Dude u should see the time lapse stockpile I've amassed over the last year. Actually workin on a project w/em. But I agree - time lapses shot during the episode should be a part each one
Dude, watching my 2 favorite things interact like that will draw me out there everytime. The competing forces - weather v aviation. Such a fun grudge match to see
You do a great job with the uncomfortable situations you work through to get these shots. It's so different seeing the planes with all the fog and spray from the rain. Just awesome.
Matt, I’m flying through ATL 4 times this month starting in a couple weeks! So excited, as it’s one of my favorite airports. I’m from ORD, but love delta at ATL.
Matt Cochran just connecting. I wish I could stay a couple nights at the Renaissance. I have before and best planespotting ever. Wake up to the 88s thundering the glass!
Love this channel, great excitement, lots of action, stuff worth looking at....maybe a tripod would be good for some stuff...but generally great job...thanks !
EXACTLY. I'm not like one of those freak Carmen er Motorheads. All I see is "motor vehicle". Makes/models are interchangeable. Conversely, I am a fan of Class 7 & 8 Commercial Vehicles - like the beautiful Mack Dump Truck. Did you know. . . . I actually sell those things nowadays? My employer is Ryder Transportation & I sling sleeper tractors 'n dump trucks fer a livin. (no shit)
HA! No Sir!!! Had I been there I'm sure the video would've been interesting. But the weather on that day was cold & rainy. Once the power died all air traffic stopped so there wouldn't have been shit to film.
Hey Matt! I'm coming to ATL on Friday Apr. 6th through Sun. Apr. 8th. I'm staying in the Renny. wanna come up and spot some planes with me in my room free of charge good friend?
Oh yeah, not much of a tuber myself but I do have a couple warbirds, a B24 abd a B17 flying into Roanoke if you wanna see...ruclips.net/video/xOxNR0fiH-4/видео.html
Ya know - over the last few yrs we've gotten GOOD action in the 1st 3 days of March. This year we ain't seen a lick of it. We definitely got hit in early March last year. Some of the time lapse footage at the end was from a March 3rd event
Nah, just bogged down in real life. Adulthood. Career & Commuting. Being a Husband. Closing in on 40yrs old. Sometimes its just impossible to keep up w/social media & vid uploads as one's responsibilities mount. But I'll never just disappear one day. This is still very important to me, you just might see some bi/tri-monthly lulls
Nothing like a good severe storm to get the MattyBoy out and about with a camera. Gr8 stuff as always. What is your favorite weather app, Matt?
You sir are a genius of videography!
One of your best vids yet! Perfect tune to end the video.
Thanks a lot man! Yeah I was very impressed with myself when the end of the video came out the way it did. I hadn't originally intended to do that but on a whim I threw some sh*t together. Then I watched it & told myself I'm a genius
This is an awesome video.

I am fascinated by both weather and aviation, but I don't get to planespot a lot
missed your vids matt, glad your fist one for a bit was a very nice one like every other vid you come out with
Thanks a lot man! Yeah I miss my vids too. Life has been so hectic over the last few months. Bad weather, a flu-ridden wife, a super long commute home from the day job. . . all of these factors make my videos take a backseat sometime. Four. Hooooler¡¡¡..........
Variety o’ comic plane spotting fun.

Nice song choice. I love the doors

She came back to Louisville about 11:20pm last night, so she must've left ATL during the 10 oclock hour.
You're crazy. Nice video
Matt, you crack me up!! 😂😂😂😂😂😎😎😎😎😎👍 Hyundai should make a commercial where it actually beats a jetliner!! Wouldn’t make any sense but it would be a fun commercial!! 🚙🛫✈️🛬⛈
Great video. I work at North Cargo. Would love to see more heavy going.
Thanks man! I agree. We do need more heavy action on the north side. FedEx, UPS & the 1 DHL/ABX are nice but it sure would be great to see more 747s up there.
Matt Cochran I agree but sadly the 747 is all but nonexistent for US operations now. UPS has been using a solid white MD-11 do that’s different
All I have for plane spotting is Cleveland. 737s, A319, A320, A321, CRJ-200, CRJ-700, MD-88. Those are the only planes until Iceland Air starts flying here

I feel ya! I live down in Columbus and we're lucky to see an A321!
Matt I’ve missed your videos! Fantastic song choice at the end and possibly the best video you’ve done!
Joe Stanton I couldn't agree more
Thanks a lot Joe! I've missed my videos too, curiously & sadly. Sometimes life just gets so busy & then the weather doesn't cooperate or the wife is sick & wants you to be her slave. . . . its rough bein a 39 yr old young man, I tell ya! Another masterpiece as usual Matt. Keep 'em comin!!
Thank you Adam!
Stank air

Speaking of severe thunderstorms, I can hear KFLL calling for you this summer.
n310ea Oh god. FLL, MIA & PIB is afternoon storm heaven. On the downside, they don't really get the Supercell variety. Like the Bama EF4 producers
Matt, this was AMAZING! I was laughing my ass off at 22:13 hahahaha you musta been soaked after that lol! You totally deserve an award for the time lapses at the end, looking forward to more! Long live ATL!
Ah... I love it here.
Delta A350 Here definitely has its plus-sides!
I get so excited when I see ur video uploaded
Thanks Tronti!
I love it Matt! I have a new appreciation for your videos. So glad we got to finally meet today!
You know it Cap'n! You gotta join me on one of my storm chasin/planespottin endeavors, like the ones in this vid. Its a blast! Hit me up anytime
Those are some GREAT LOOKING CLOUDS!! 🌪⛈
Loved the time-lapse Matt!
Thanks Michelle! I had a lot of fun makin that. Curiously, it wasn't something I originally planned - er at least the Doors part wasn't. But tossed it in on a whim & it gave me chills

Matt awesome time lapse of the departures as the storm approaches great video as always brother.
hi! great video as always!
Thank you so much Ethan & Sam!!!
Matt Cochran no problem! I watched a video and the rest of the day was good luck
Enjoying your video from a hospital rehab unit, I'm recovering from heart issues and a small stroke.
Oh Brian, is this just another one of your abstract witty comments? Should I be prayin for ya? Or are ya just pullin Ol Matty's chain?
Matt Cochran No chain pull in. Mini stroke and heart problems.
Love your videos,plz upload more
Nice job! Keep it up. Those clouds looked awesome! Great footage.
Jacob Blanchard Thanks a lot Jacob! Lookin forward to a new year of severe storm encounters

Awesome video there Matt! Thank goodness for time lapse cameras.
Thanks a lot Bry! Yeah buddy! Ol Mr. Time Lapse is still alive & kickin!
The wasp spaz attack was the best.
Ian Robertson I concur wholeheartedly. During the spring & summer those wasps are a comedy goldmine
Awesome video! It always a sight to see some aircraft try to brave out the storms, especially the small regional jets.
21xd09 Its what I live for man. The ultimate atmospheric cage match!
Jonathan Kangas or a montage video of him singing the tri-holer song while filming three engine planes.
Very exciting seeing all the weather moving in with the airplanes trying to take off or land not knowing exactly what to expect.
Lol dude, great video and very funny
Liked!
Thanks Keyshawn! Great to hear from you!
Very fine filming sir.
Thanks Steve!
Matt, I’m flying through ATL 4 times this month starting in a couple weeks! So excited, as it’s one of my favorite airports. I’m from ORD, but love delta at ATL.
Kickass Brady! You're just connecting thru ATL or staying in town?
Matt Cochran just connecting. I wish I could stay a couple nights at the Renaissance. I have before and best planespotting ever. Wake up to the 88s thundering the glass!
I just heard something about the I-85 collapse and that was when I realized this was from 2017
Man I live in kaufman Texas man I remember the canton tornado
Love this channel, great excitement, lots of action, stuff worth looking at....maybe a tripod would be good for some stuff...but generally great job...thanks !
Thanks a lot Zetapal! I'm your 5th subscriber btw
That Hyundai........is a Ford Focus. Not that it matters, since all of these cars are the same nowadays.
6:42. Sounds like a fire alarm
Oh I know. I was just trying to escalate the tension
Matt Cochran what was the source?
currently watching on my 60inch television device here in the UK. matty any plans of any airshows this year ?
AWESOME
I know at one point there was a computer systems failure which made it so that no one was able to take off
Great video Matt!!!! Loved everything! Keep up the good work brotha!! Meet me at the airport sometime lol
Thanks Caleb! Yeah man. Now that the days are getting longer & weather is improving I'll def be out there more often.
You didnt happen to be at the airfield when the power went bye bye were ya?
HA! No Sir!!! Had I been there I'm sure the video would've been interesting. But the weather on that day was cold & rainy. Once the power died all air traffic stopped so there wouldn't have been shit to film.
do you ever get UPS 747-8s?
Oh lord no. At least not yet. I'm not exactly up to speed on the subject, but didn't they just place an order for those? Not sure if they're flyin yet
Hey Matt! I'm coming to ATL on Friday Apr. 6th through Sun. Apr. 8th. I'm staying in the Renny. wanna come up and spot some planes with me in my room free of charge good friend?

Nice! I subbed
Great video! Does this seem earlier in the year for severe weather at Atlanta?
Ya know - over the last few yrs we've gotten GOOD action in the 1st 3 days of March. This year we ain't seen a lick of it. We definitely got hit in early March last year. Some of the time lapse footage at the end was from a March 3rd event
Gotcha, well let's hope for some crazy weather come Mid-March and April!
Thought you were 6ft under
