In our restaurant reviews, we often come across interesting stories from the world of gastronomy. We've noticed that many people enjoy them, so the Alexander The Guest team and I decided to create a new series focused just on that. We hope you like it. Let us know your thoughts in the comments and what we should cover in the future! Cheers!
At Alinea, one of my favourite courses a few years ago had freeze dried Beluga Caviar that was then finely shaved like Parmesan Cheese on top of a risotto. You should do an episode on butter. So many western consumers don't realize there is a difference in great butter. As an award winning ice cream and butter maker (named the best in Canada), it has been my mission to bring great butter to masses.
Hi Alexander, I love your videos and the way you explore fine dining experiences! I would really enjoy seeing a video about wine, particularly focusing on what makes Krug so special. Your insights would be much appreciated! Best regards, one of your viewers
I agree with the other comments, the video itself is well made, but its just not what i expect when i come to this channel. If it would be Alexander just sitting in table reading the script to camera and tasting caviar, i would love that. The channel is what it is only because Alexander.
Well if you prefer the other style of video, stay tuned I am sure there is more of that to come. But keep in mind, Alexander doesn't have any obligation to other people, and he has no reason to stay in the boxes other people have constructed. There is no reason for him to not try making other content that he enjoys :)

I am torn...I think this is a perfectly reasonable presentation, but if I wanted a presentation on caviar, I could have gotten it in a lot of places. It's well produced but basically routine, and not at all what makes Alexander the Guest unique. It might have been different if Alexander himself was presenting the way caviar is served in different places and restaurants, or how the different varieties compare, but this was pretty basic info. All in all, I don't think much of it.
Well, its filler to pass the time between restaurant reviews. Three star restaurants arent a dime a dozen and getting bookings/arranging flights to match etc can be tricky so it was to be expected he would end up with some schedule gaps.
Just as multiple other comments have explained, I think the production quality is amazing. That being said though, we're missing what makes this channel unique and a joy to watch. I agree with the others, this format definitely has a lot of potential, maybe have Alexander link it back to fine dining by showing us how to pair caviar, etc.

It is not a *bad* video by any means. The quality, editing, and content itself is fine. But like many other comments have said, this type of video isn't why I come to this channel. I come here to see ALEXANDER and his reviews of food. After all, this channel is called Alexander The Guest, not Alexander the Guest's Team. But this does give me an idea. A better kind of video would be having Alexander himself taste and rate different kinds of caviar at different price ranges. It would still fall under the umbrella of Alexander reviewing unique and expensive food while promoting a more unique and interesting take.

😋please make more videos like this! We love the information and we would really appreciate a full course of deep dives into caviar and different types of luxury food items
Great and informative video there are no faults in it .....but the the charm of the channel comes with Alexander tells some personal anecdotes and experiences too
This is a really well-made video, and I’d like seeing similar ones in the future. I think the problem is that the channel is centered around a personality, Alexander’s, and so it isn’t what people expect in their feed. These videos will probably get lower views for that reason. You may want to consider starting a second channel and having Alexander pointing us toward that channel semi-regularly. Or embedding this concept within Alexander’s normal restaurant reviews.
I’m glad a lot of people agree that this channel is about Alexander. And if he wants to do a dissertation on caviar, it should be him doing it, not this weird AI voice. But then again, let’s face it, most of us come for the restaurant reviews anyway. EDIT: I have just been informed that the narrator is, in fact, human. Sorry Alex McIntosh, my mistake😉 However, I still stand by my previous points. I subscribe to channels not just for the content but for the personalities behind the content. Alexander the Guest makes it great!
@@Guest-lr3euSorry, I don’t always feel the need to read those description footnotes so I didn’t see that🤷🏻♂️ But that’s a pity, I hope he didn’t feel offended (although it seems another comment felt the same way I did about the voice, so maybe Mr. Alex has some things to think about😂) as it was a genuine accident on my part, no ill intentions.

I also agree with the other comments and was a bit surprised when I saw this on my RUclips feed. As someone who has watched all of your videos, I’ve always loved and been drawn to your culinary adventures around the world. However, while the editing to this video is very well done, it just isn’t what I come to this channel for. Perhaps if the video featured you at an actual caviar farm with your charismatic commentary, then it’d be a bit more in character.
Back in 1992, I went for dinner in a restaurant in Yekaterinburg. On the table upon arrival was a big (think salad) bowl of black beluga caviar. I nearly had a heart attack, but back then it cost about £5. Unbelievable taste. Every new year is celebrated with caviar. The burst of flavour in indescribable.
Excellent video, top quality as the always. Production, animation and sotry telling, consider putting this type content on a second channel? Alexender the guest is unique. This type of content is different and needs its own space! Thanks
I never comment on videos, but there’s always a first time for everything. I don’t know why everyone wants only “classic content.” This video was insanely well made and a great addition to the channel. You can’t have only one type of content because you will eventually get bored. Okay, maybe Alexander narrating it would have been better, but videos like this are priceless regarding what you gain from them.
I like the video--I also think a video about butter would be pretty awesome. Even better would be a deep dive where Alexander does a taste test of his own to compare sturgeon caviar to, say, salmon caviar or paddlefish caviar.
Wonderful video! I hope the team makes more. I agree with the other comments about channel fit - have you thought about a second channel dedicated to content like this?
This is a great content addition to the channel - so much us plebs could learn about fine dining (I sense a 5-part series on wine? Or maybe just Krug? 😅). Would love if it included Alexander's perspective and not generic stuff you could Google or get off Wikipedia.
How about checkout Yarra Valley Caviar in Victoria, Australia. This is Norwegian Salmon, Ocean trout, Rainbow stout. I take all my chefs there to learn how to milk the fish. The reality that most people find is . Roe tastes just like all eggs
I really liked this video presentation! The only thing that would have made it better would have been to have Alexander be the narrator. Otherwise, I think this kind of presentation is great on this channel. But please don't stop reviewing Michelin-starred restaurants, Alexander!!!
I love the deep dive aspect of this video, reminds me a lot of the science segments of 'The mid of a chef' great and underrated. Hopefully one with truffle will follow. Love the channel and its evolution. Strong content!!!
I think it was a good video. I don't mind getting some information about the food we so often see in the videos. Adds some good context to everything we see.
I agree with some of the comments - while the video is great and I like the humoristic take - I do prefer the classic reviews - although I could imagine if we are speaking about branching out - something dedicated to wines by region, perhaps with a presence of a renowned sommelier together with Alexander.
I think this kind of educational content can be done with Alexdander being the host and an expert guest explaining the topic on site. For example, it would’ve been fun to watch if Alexander visited a caviar farm. Though I have a feeling this kind of content is more of a filler episode for when Alexander is busy/production is low on funds lol
To echo the other comments - I think it's a great idea to branch out, but the execution isn't there for me (though the editing, as always, is on point). If it weren't posted on the same channel, I would not know this was an Alexander the Guest video. I was sort of hoping for videos where Alexander might visit producers, speak with them, perhaps alone or with a cohost, and maybe try a variety of dishes with their product in connection with the fine dining.
Keep everything about it, but have Alexander appear and narrate the same script, with a sprinkling of his thoughts, caviar experience stories, and general observations.
Boiling it to it's essence, Luxury is happiness. Caviar is expensive, and people without the means to buy it on a daily basis seek it out to conform with rich culture. It's expensive because of its small production globally, but I don't think it will ever be worth it. Alexander the Guest is becoming a rich people POV for people who dont live this life regularly.

When I was a kid I got to eat caviar my grandmother would have some of we would go to the chart house restaurant . but as a adult I don't understand why it's so prized . Sea Salt fish pop rocks is the way I can describe caviar .
I wish it had been Alexander talking about caviar. As far as caviar goes, I'm not a huge fan. I mean I'll eat it if it's served, but I wouldn't seek it out or pay the price for a can of top quality caviar. Then again, the same goes for wine. As long as it's not vinegar or corked, I doubt I could tell the difference between a decent bottle and a top end one.
Contrary to other comments, I think the video is fine. I have no other expectations from this channel other than to learn more about premium food and experiences.
The quality of the video is 20/20. However I miss Alexanders voice and somehow i also miss the food. The classic format of the channel was Alexander reviewing restaurants, intertwined with short informative clips about the ingredients/techniques used or historical facts. The reason why I consider this channel to be the best on high cuisine on RUclips, is the balance: 60% Alexander reviewing food 40% high quality informative clips (with Alexanders voice!). Now this is just 100% high quality informative clips. For me it misses the soul of this channel.

I would completely disagree with the other comments about the video. I loved it, and it helps gain a perspective on different things which are to be appreciated to fine dining newbies. Keep it up!
"Because if you think it’s “fish eggs” you’re only partially correct. Let’s dive in. Marine animals like shrimp, squid, lobster and fish lay eggs. Lots and lots of eggs. These eggs are called roe. Now of all the roe in the sea, the most prized is the roe of the fish." was this written by chatgpt?
Alexander stop this. I am a fan of your channel. But a video must be with you, not just you in one tiny shot. Just an AI voice over explainer is not you at all. Even though the video is well made it will hurt instead of benefit your channel in the long run if you go on with more of them. Please do it again but with you tasting ,trying, caviar visiting 3 star restaurants, you talking to chefs about caviar, or something like that. The prediction for the near future is that personal channels will become the most important and succesfull. As AI videos will flood the web in enormous amounts.
This isn’t a bad video - but it isn’t a good neither. Look - it doesn’t at all has the same gravitas than the other videos. While I think, it is great to learn, it should really have its own channel. Also, it has not Alexander at all in it. You could have far more footage with Alexander eating caviar. Maybe having Alexander talking to great chefs about caviar. Maybe discussing about caviar in his own restaurant. But it is nothing like that. It is just an average, faceless video - probably produced with the help of AI (or just a producer, who isn’t necessarily aligned with the channel). This isn’t the way!
When I was a kid I stayed the night over at a friend’s house. His parents were wine & caviar connoisseurs so we of course helped ourselves after they went to sleep. Well long story short I got extremely drunk on peppermint schnapps & ate a whole container of cinnamon red hot flavored caviar. That night and the next morning I was projectile vomiting a hideously disgusting combination of peppermint jet fuel & cinnamon red hot barf (yes the color of puke was red) Needless to say it scarred me & I cannot eat caviar to this day & hate anything peppermint flavored. Thankfully we didn’t eat or drink any of his parent’s expensive stuff so they pretty much laughed at us.
love this new style your trying, its fun to watch and you learn a thing or two. the only downside i find is that you lose the connection by not being in the video yourself and outsourcing it. But keep up the good work love to see your channel evolve.

I've never had caviar, so I wouldn't know what it tastes like. You did a great job describing it but, please send caviar or money so I would taste it. Preferably, caviar, ok? Yeah, I'm the modern version of the African spammer. I ask for caviar instead of money. Lol
8:50 yeah but they are using metal tools 🤔
Please let Alexander voice the videos.
I would completely disagree with the other comments about the video. I loved it, and it helps gain a perspective on different things which are to be appreciated to fine dining newbies. Keep it up!
this needs to be followed up by a video about champagne
"Because if you think it’s “fish eggs” you’re only partially correct.
Let’s dive in.
Marine animals like shrimp, squid, lobster and fish lay eggs.
Lots and lots of eggs.
These eggs are called roe.
Now of all the roe in the sea, the most prized is the roe of the fish."

Great Video! But it would be even better as a combination with Alexander explaining parts of it.
I always say the best Caviar is Persian and from the Persian Gulf, but I never knew that it originated from Iran!
Caspian see and not the Gulf
A cavier bump is a toast but with food. Yes indeed. No it doesn't remind me of any other "bump" reference in regards to powdered noses. No siree.
Where is Alexander? He is the only reason i watch this.
Nice video
Lol they used metal spoon/fork in some of the b-roll. And to much caviar is not recommended, unless you dont' mind beeing reborn as a farmed sturgeon.
"Luca Brasi". Iykyk
this episode has a lot of facts and myths mixed together
Alexander stop this. I am a fan of your channel. But a video must be with you, not just you in one tiny shot.
Just an AI voice over explainer is not you at all. Even though the video is well made it will hurt instead of benefit your channel in the long run if you go on with more of them.
Please do it again but with you tasting ,trying, caviar visiting 3 star restaurants, you talking to chefs about caviar, or something like that.
The prediction for the near future is that personal channels will become the most important and succesfull. As AI videos will flood the web in enormous amounts.
This was a good video but if you guys are planning to make more like this perhaps a second channel would be in the works.
I'm gonna have to say that while I love the content, I do miss Alexander's voice and cadence on this.
Nice. I like this format as well
Who is the guy reading this script? Does anyone know?
It's a text to speech program. That's why it sounds awkward and the pronunciation is bad.
