Before this year ends, I will upload one more video, where I will reveal my TOP 10 favorite restaurants of 2023. Any guesses which restaurants made my TOP 10?🔥
Not sure but I think, at least 7 of the 10 I mentioned might make the top 10. Core by Clare Smith, Mirazur, Le Cinq, Geranium, Central, Plenitude, Piazza Duomo, Boury, DiverXo, Iris.
I love that Chef Saini prefers to crouch besides the table while talking with the customers, not having them look up just to talk to the chef, small detail but brilliant.
It creates a really different atmosphere, suddenly you are putting yourself bellow the customer ready to initiate a conversation! Breaks with the image of the authoritarian chef, looking from above with arms crossed. Bonus: allows you to rest a bit after long hours in the kitchen 😅
I normally think these restaurants are incredibly expensive for someone with my income, but for a bit more than 170 euros, and a 17 course tasting menu this actually seems reasonable. Plus you get the warm up snacks. Each course is a work of art and if you figure it is about 10 Euros each that is not too bad for a work of art even if they are small.
fine dining has never been about the price to portion ratio, of course there are still unreasonable prices in some places but generally you are going to experience the restaurant as a whole as well as the food. Hours upon hours are spent on preparing ingredients with such intricacy and they're high quality. The severs/serviettes, the chef coming to see you and explaining the tradition behind dishes. The experience is more than worth it
You are absolutely right, but your comment also highlights why fine dining is not available to those who have to worry about the cost of food. For those who can't just go to the store and buy what they want, or for whom going out to eat is a luxury that is not cost effective most of the time. I went out to eat with my family to celebrate multiple birthdays and paid over $200 dollars for six people, maybe you think that is not a lot, but on my budget that was a lot, fine dining is really not an option for many. At the same time, I'm an a photographer who photographs the natural world and sells my images and I also feel that if you look at each of these dishes as a works of art then the price paid in this particular video is actually not very much. @@yournanshobnobs9707
As an Bengali Indian and long time subscriber, I would like to thank you Alexander for exploring our cuisine. Indian cuisine is not quite prominent in fine dining culture but watching you try it and seeing its wonderful representation here fills me with joy. Keep making the wonderful videos you deliver us.👍👍
170 euros for 17 courses seems like an actual incredible deal for a meal this special. The wine pairing bumping the cost up to 400 seems incredibly reasonable as well. As someone who does not drink alcohol much, I really appreciated how each drink was unique and not necessarily alcoholic for each dish. If I am ever in Dubai, I will have to ensure to make a reservation.
I went here back when they had 1 star and they were actually my first foray into Fine Dining and the first Michelin starred restaurant I had ever tried in my life!! They changed my perception of what great tasting food was and it was incredible!! I went back again earlier this year after they received their 2nd star and the difference was amazing!! I've been waiting for a while for you to review this restaurant and it definitely did not disappoint!!
It seems they will receive their 3rd star soon, considering the incredible presentation and the fact that they rise so fast from 1 Michelin (2022) to 2 (2023).
This has got to be one of the most astounding restaurants i’ve seen throughout all your other reviews, the amount of thought and meaning put into the dishes the beautiful dainty glassware, and the visuals for every course from a different part of India is just…gastronomical.
I'm so glad to see this menu! As a french-indian cook, seeing Indian cuisine with such fine technique excites me deeply! Thank you for you vids team alexandertheguest !
Wow. This all looked great. Loved the look of the restaurant plus the different presentations. You notice how the owner/Chef bends down to talk to you. Humbleness. The food looked great. Love Indian food.
I have subscribed to you when you were having 10k subscribers. Always loved your videos and motivated me to try these restaurants one day. Being an Indian, i am really proud to see an indian restaurant. Also, the amount of enthusiasm and excitement you have for Indian food brings a smile on my face. You would definitely love India.
The restaurant has really shown the diversity of india. Started from dry desert to humid wet tropic region to straight up to the snowy moutain region. Could have felt an adventure. Would love to try sometime in future
I've watched most of your videos, and I think this is the first time that you've ever said "I wouldn't change anything". That, in itself, must be the ultimate compliment!
Having spent my 20 first years of life, as an expat, in Singapore where there is very strong Indian cultural and culinary presence, it is such a pleasure to see the unbelievable food that I grew up on being represented with such emotion and finesse. Indian sauces can be as complex as the lauded Mexican mole. Anyone who has walked through the beauty of an Indian market with the stunning flower arrangements etc. will recognize the inspiration for the stunning presentation of these dishes. What an experience and the humility of the chef and his team exude India. Thank you for sharing Alexander. Hats off, as always for the incredible content.
I subscribed to you when the channel didn't have many views. I remember showing my mother all your videos (you only had three at the time). I'm so happy that you are showcasing Indian cuisine! Mom had asked me if our food would ever make it on yournc channel. Can't wait to show this to her!
It's an amazing experience. All of the Tresind locations are fantastic but this is second to none in the region. The UAE has a definite wine problem but the inventive pairing of juices, spirits and wine is amazing. They even serve and alcoholic deglazed pan sauce.
Lucky enough to live fairly close to London (but not in it!), which has a great selection of Indian restaurants with 1 Michelin star. At last count there are 7 and I've tried 3 of them, I like seeing their take on fine dining with a cuisine most Brits have grown up with (or its Bangladeshi equivalent).
Kudos to you Alexander, for doing your research on regional Indian cuisine and explaining it all so well. I really appreciate your effort and interest. Thank you!
I've seen abominations in the name of Indian fine dining but the vada with kimchi is something I absolutely love. That is how you do it right and yes, I share your sentiments about the ghee roasted crab.
No, there's an Indian chef named Garima Arora who has a restaurent named Gaa in Bangkok, Thailand has also won 2 Michelin stars last year i.e. in year 2023.
Sir , your passion and enthusiasm is infectious to say the least. We are so proud and happy to see a caliber such as yours to describe each and every bite with such sincerity. I applaud your knowledge and eloquence regarding the description of each dish. Bravo !!! You are a master of what you do. ❤ Please, please do not ever stop being Alexander the guest !!!
Of all the restaurants I saw reviewed on this channel, this is the one I would love to try the most. It seems such a journey for all the senses and emotions. Just beautiful.
I ate here last week because of this video. Sole reason I stayed in Dubai on the way back from the Maldives. It did not disappoint. This was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Everything was impeccable. The service and presentation are just superb. Unique and captivating. Thanks for the great videos. I’ll definitely be picking more restaurants based on these reviews!
@@mrgyani well first of all it’s 200 Euro per person as we don’t typically get the drinks add on and yes we are lucky enough to afford it especially since we don’t go out that often.. like everything in life you choose what you want to spend on.
Mumbai Pani Puris will die of shame seeing their middle east competition doing so well 🤣🤣. Watching the video while enjoying hot idli's with sambhar and chutney. Don't know about the food but thouroughly enjoyed the presentation.
Hey Alexander, absolutely love your content and have been binge watching your videos. Your visit to Central Peru featured a wine from my village in Bolivia, Camargo. And that reminded me that in La Paz, Bolivia we have Noma's co founders second restaurant Gustu. I'd love to see you paying a visit there!
The best meal I had this year was at a Bengali restaurant that did a tasting menu that was 9 courses. It was incredible, quite possibly the best meal I've ever had.
I just ate here and it's the best place I've been to. Much more impressive than some of the other names in Dubai. Only a matter of time before they get their 3rd star.
This looks so amazing! I can‘t really imagine what more they would have to do to gain a 3rd star. Like, what are the criteria that differentiate a 2 from a 3 star restaurant?
Still remember the raga music played in the airports. 😊 I ate street food in Mumbai and American tourists were taking pictures of us eating chicken intestines skewers. Love from Greece
I would love to go to a restaurant like this, perhaps not in Dubai. However, seeing this chefs soul shine in such a materialistic and vacuous place as Dubai, is heartwarming. Beautiful cuisine.
Visiting Dubai (and its restaurants) is very high on my bucket list. Every course was appealing. Thanks for taking us along with you and Happy Holidays!
Is it possible to communicate allergies before ordering at those restaurants? I‘ve never been to those kind of restaurants and I really don‘t know if it is offending the chef‘s creations if they are asked to remove parts of the dishes (like a cookie or noodles due to gluten allergy)?
My first comment on your channel. Been subscribed since you started the channel around 5-10k members. Congratulations on another amazing video and I am so glad your channel has exploded and grown so rapidly. For anyone who loves chai like me, small tip, don’t forget to let the water/milk boil up and down 3-5X to get that dark brown color. I drink chai daily but with milk unlike the one in the video. What did you think of the tea?
Being able to grow your own vegetables on-site for a purpose-built menu must be an insane ROI. 175 Euro is INCREDIBLE. His waste costs are probably zero because his menu is fixed, his total covers are fixed, and the garden is purpose-built to be able to grow the right amount of food for the menu and number of patrons. Central and Iris?
Plenitude!

fine dining is to be seen more like watching a show or movie or opera or music show than a meal.
Its ~400 Euro which is ~1600 Dirham you shaw on the bill
400 Euros for that feels like a steal compared to some of the other restaurants you’ve reviewed. Beautiful food and story.
Most of the price difference with other places is probably in serving exclusive wines.
