  • Nike Metcon 7 Flyease Vs Nike Metcon 7 - I recently tried out the Nike Metcon 7 Flyease to see how they compared to the Nike Metcon 7. I wondered whether the velcro fastening on the Flyease Metcons and the compressive heal making them easier to get in and out of would give any added benefit over the traditional lacing found on the normal Metcon 7.

    Which Metcons would you go for if you had to choose?

      For sure with laces. Your video brought up exactly the types of things I'd be worried about with the flyease ones.

    I bought the Metcon 7 flyease on release, and I have been using them daily ever since. They are the best crossfit type shoes i've ever owned. Just a few weeks before I bought these I had bought the regular Metcon 7, and I absolutely loved them. Since I got the flyease version, I mainly use the regular 7s as a backup shoe.
    Everyone is different of course, but I find the fit to be excellent. The velcro strap has never loosened on me, unlike regular laced shoes often does. I also usually carry a pair of weightlifiting shoes with me, and it is so nice to have the velcro solution when you are switching between shoes during a session. These literally take a second to put on and off.
    The new Metcon 8 flyese do not have the velcro solution like the 7's, som I'm gonna stock up and buy another 1-2 pairs before they are gone from the market.

    I owned Nike Metcon 6 flyease... I would say is the best training/weightlifting shoes I ever owned. I wish their more around so I could buy 2nd pair of them. The 7 flyease looked a flop cuz as you said, you can't adjust the velcro straps.

      Yeah I read some good reviews of the Metcon 6 Flyease but I never got the chance to try them.

    I found the velcro system too short. Didn’t, or barely closed if at all due to a lack of overlap between the velcro parts.

    Thanks for the video. Been looking for this comparison for a while.
    For the first time ever, I was unable to upgrade from my Metcon 6s to the 7s. The 7s are simply too large for my feet and the whole shoe just feels super bulky. I was hoping that maybe with the flyease system, I will be able to tighten the shoe and will have a better hold on my feet, but you have answered my question regarding this in your video. Much appreciated!

      Glad I could help! I totally know what you mean, the 7s do feel slightly chunkier and so do the 6s to me. The FlyEase fastening system needs a bit of work, hopefully they get it right next time!
      I would recommend trying the 'Metcon Free' as a good alternative bit.ly/3G30YnL to me they feel a bit lighter and secure they're slighty better for running as well which is why I got them, I personally didn't enjoy running in the Metcon 6 or 7s.

    Hello! Which size of Nike Metcon 7 Flyease I should buy, if my size is US 8.5 (Nike Air Max 90, Air Force)? I think about US 9, because a lot of people say that this model is small by 1/2 size...

    • @ListedFit

    I want these for squats, deadlifts and some clean & jerks. Would you recommend them? Haven’t had a pair of weightlifting shoes before.

    • @ListedFit
      @ListedFit  2 года назад

      Hey! I would actually recommend the normal lace-up version of the Metcons, these ones: bit.ly/3FKrP82, mainly because I don't personally think the velcro secures the foot well enough and the compressing heel might not maintain its integrity for a long time either.
      Also worth considering, is a basic pair of Chucks bit.ly/3zeMsGY

    I have the feeling that the heel cap is a bit lower. My heel slips a bit ‘more/easier’ compared to other trainers. Don’t know if it is linked to the flyease philosophy? Though, after a while the brain is accustomed to it.

      If you need something for Squats then you need weightlifting shoes like the Nike Romaleos.

    Hi bro AWESOME Vlog! Natural Bodybuilder here - I bought the red FlyEase Metcon 7 for my leg workouts. I feel that they'll be great for squatting, leg press, lunges, sissy squats and hack squats. They look great and feel heavy. My only concern is getting in and out of them. I feel if you keep pushing the heel down, it will spoil/wear the design of the sneaker. I'd love to pull open the volvo strap but I feel that it will wear / stop sticking after a short period if I keep doing that. For my HIIT and upper body workouts, I bought the Nike Zoom X Invincible in Volt / lime green. They are the most comfortable sneaker that i've ever experienced! I love both sneaker designs! Paul

    • @ListedFit
      @ListedFit  2 года назад

      Yeah I thought that too. Surely after a few months of the heel being constantly compressed they're going to lose their structure considerably.
      About the zoom x invisibles, I tried them on once before buying them and I had concerns about the tread on them being grippy enough. How have they been for you?

    • @BarcelonasHotCrowd
      @BarcelonasHotCrowd 2 года назад

      @@ListedFit Yes, I reckon that i'll just use the straps as they are only for leg training which for me will be twice a week with Tom Platz style workouts :) The Zoom X Invincible's are just beautiful. The volt / lime colour way is amazing - mind you, so is the chili red of the Metcon 7 FlyEase :) Definitely grippy whilst walking in the gym, although they add an inch to my 180cm height and feel so bouncy after the Metcons!!!!! The Zoom X Invincible are simply out of this world on the running track when I do my 100m / 400m HIIIT. I love them!
