South Korea has given North Korean defectors almost free housing, education and many other advantages
for examplt, it's really competitve to get into top universities in korea (because we're all asians and most students study really hard),
and south korea made it easier for north koreans to get into university and get scholarships and subsidues
and many south koreans feel so much sympathy towards north koreans
that's why we're okay and supportive of tax going into helping settlement of north koreans and subsidues that go into them

I mean why would shows like 이만갑 do well for more than 10 years?
I've always been curious and had sympathy for north koreans. I think yeonmi spoke some truth, but generalized too much
Taxes go for north koreans settling in korea and they have a lot of advantages in korea.
If general public in south koreans didn't feel sympathy for north koreans and were racist to them, they might be against it like how they r against muslim refugees

She's right when she says that nobody would have done anything even if they didn't have nukes. Cuba has been under a Communist regime for more than 60 years and nothing has been done. People are starving to death there too because the government starves its people, and like she said, it's easier to control sick starving people. The only people in Cuba who have food are affiliated with the regime or foreigners who support and give money to the regime.

Great to be doing interview whit this smart young lady.
For some reason the guy doing the interview is turning this into comedy. There is too much giggling, laughing, inappropriate commenting.. Maybe it’s just me, but when someone’s life is on the line I would be more emphatic.

N Korea isn't socialist. It's a totalitarian kingdom run by a dynasty. Socialism is when the people actually make up the government so that government spending reflects the needs of the people. I don't know why people cant understand this. North Korea, by definition, is not a socialist society.

So living in upper middle class in North Korea is like being poor everywhere else. I am guessing average people there are basically homeless. I grew up in a village in Eastern Europe and we were poor but we had water(once a week we could go in bath, other wise it would be too expensive) and we had electricity and we had cars and bikes. Used old ones but they worked. I am guessing in North Korea my family would be considered wealthy.

I wish every American that hates this county and thinks it’s so racist could go to somewhere like India or North Korea, just for a week. They would kiss the ground when they got back. I’ve been to India 3x, not as a tourist, and every time I came back I was so grateful just to have a toilet, to have a faucet, to have electricity at the flick of a switch, to have hot water. I mean the list goes on and on.
