  • I unbox five beautiful new-to-me Marx 3/16 scale cars. Now I'll have enough cars to run two Marx O Gauge trains. After a little troubleshooting, I have mad crazy fun running three trains and a trolley simultaneously on my Carpet Central temporary tinplate layout. In addition to the two Marx trains - one pulled by a number 62 AA B&O diesel set and the other pulled by a Marx 666 steam engine - I also run a Unique Art Manufacturing Rock Island AA diesel set and a Lionel number 60 trolley. Watch to the end and you'll see some exciting toy train action shots and interesting camera angles.

Nice run! I had to add a bunch of weight inside of my Union Pacific tender, I think it might have been part of a wind-up set.

Thank you, John. Yes, I only added 1 ounce, but just the other day, I said to myself I should add at least another ounce.

Great videos John! The Marx 3/16" cars are my favorite of all of the Marx trains. I have every one of the different 3/16" cars, except the PRR stock car. The cars that you received are in amazing condition! Out of all of my Marx cars I only have two boxes, but I have bought most of mine in sets. I loved all of the camera angles when you were running the trains!😊😊😊

@johnlazar7582 Thank you, John. Yes, these 3/16" cars really are nice. How is it possible that they've survived in this great condition since maybe 1954, if I read correctly? I was made a few years later, and I'm a lot worse! 😊

@@Johns0gaugeAndH0trains I've been collecting Marx trains since the 1970s and those are some of the nicest cars that I've seen. The tin trains scratch and rust fairly easily. Some years ago I got rid of most of my 6" cars and pressed tin locomotives. I kept all of the 3/16" cars and die cast locomotives.

@stevesoscaletrainchannel.1901 Thank you, Steve! I had fun making it. And I must thank you and others for getting me interested in Marx and tinplate. Three years ago, those were things that I thought I'd never want.
