Just to be clear the FIRST bit of dialogue is the same for everyone but having played this everyway possible the ONLY way to get the second bit (the real juicy bit where Mimir insists they are in love) THAT requires you to beat the hard part strangely. Also, if maybe Freya and Kratos met Baldur in Valhalla and he forgave them - WOULD THAT GIVE FREYA A SHOT AT LOVE?

I think after the whole prophecy thing with Faye, and Freya talking about her true intentions, Kratos was at that point faced with the idea his wife was just following a prophecy in being with him.
Sure it was proven to not be so and she was trying to rewrite it all for both him and Atreus, but the fact kratos still has that suspicion of being "useful" to someone instead of being "cared about" even as friends is really sad to me.

    • @GodWorksOut
      @GodWorksOut 5 месяцев назад +48

This is the natural order. Look at any of your friends and they find you useful in some context. If they did not you would not be friends. In other words, you do something for them. Maybe it’s just make them laugh or make them not feel alone in the world, only they would truly know, but you are useful to them.

Freya X Kratos doesn't appeal me.
I have always had a liking for Athena x Kratos becoming a thing in GoW3 ending. It made so much sense to me.
Don't hate me for it, but I could explain how it would have worked.
According to GoW1 & 2 Books it was implied Athena had feelings for him, also the devs said Athena had a thing for him in a video.
She always cared for him, as she pleaded with Zeus to take his nightmares away.
She does sacrifice herself in gow2 but when she returns, she realized Zeus never cared about her and there is no stopping Kratos.
So she helps Kratos to take revenge on Zeus for herself and Kratos' wellbeing, not for her own greed in gow3.
At the ending they realise they caused destruction and the gods always do that, mortals suffer because of them. So they release the power of hope making them never to be ruled by gods again.
They leave Greece and build something new for themselves.
In gow2018 just replace Faye with Athena, ofcouse by compensating somethings.

Both his marriages lasted for decades but Kratos as a god will live centuries if not for thousands of years, you judge his view on relationships as if he was mortal but it is not the case, he cant be alone for thousands of years, thats partly why he was able to get together with Faye. Plus, Kratos knows better now and he has Faye's blessing from the last flashback we saw before Ragnarok "The culmination of love is grief and yet we love despite the inevitable... Open your heart to the world as you have opened it to me and you will find every reason to keep living in it", Kratos was afraid that loosing Faye would cost him his happiness but Faye tells him that he won't as long as he keeps building new connections with people as he once built with Faye herself. Plus, Freya is pretty much just as immortal as Kratos is because of her godhood, they could possibly be together for much longer than he ever was with his first wife or Faye. Now after the events of Valhalla Kratos is mostly at peace with himself and fears of loss and grief are beneath him

They worked together to remove Odin and Freya did put baldurs passing to odins doing as he did with Thor. Kratos is one of the strongest in their world, he freed Freya’s trap. Kratos has left Atreus to finding his way while he is seeking companionship as he journeys on. Ancient Greek stories had complex love stories as have Norse myths such as the birth of lokis children the wolf and serpent. Kratos has a complex relationship with faye. Also Freya was enemies with Odin when she married Odin from the story. A lot of the inspiration in the game from interviews seems to borrow from Corey B life, people find romantic partnerships sometimes in complex ways and grow when raising kids

Lead makes and females don’t have to end up together. But they can be close. Freya has love for Atreus, and I think she will serve as a maternal figure without that necessitating her becoming his step-mom.

However, I will say the connection of Kratos to Óðr, Freya’s husband, also makes a compelling argument. He’s “divine madness/frantic/anger/vehement/frenzy,” of which some qualities apply to Kratos’ past but not necessarily his current developments.
Freya has two daughters, Hnoss and Gersemi, with Óðr. Perhaps they adopt or raise children together? Who knows. There’s a lot they could do with this. All I know is I want whatever happens to seem natural.

I think Kratos likes freya but freya doesn’t like him the same yet.
Kratos says that he values her, I don’t get why he would say this if it was in a friendly way. That would be me talking to my brother about how I’m best friends with my best friend even though it’s obvious.
Mimir says that freya values Kratos in her own way. Kratos says that she only finds him useful. Why would mimir repeat the same phrasing as Kratos if it was only as friends?
I think that freya is still feeling the sorrow or losing her son as well as the huge change in all the realms of Norse mythology.
Off topic but I’d like to see Kratos defending the Norse land from gods who wish to conquer.
Like make it where he faces half the Egyptian gods in battle, some join his side and others get the heimdall treatment. Then the next game after that would be Kratos going to Egypt to demand and explanation. Blah blah civil war between gods, Kratos booty claps the bad gods and then he gets asked to join the Egyptian pantheon. Things get awkward. He leaves. Tells Freya. Then freya goes “nuhuh you my daddy of war”. Bam they get together and give birth to some more god babies.
Also if Kratos does be with someone it would be intense to see illusions of his past lovers haunt him.

thank you for finding this in full, i saw half of it in a video about beating the first run without dying and it frustrated me cause it sounded important to the characters to actually talk about it.
i don't really think Baulder's death will actually be a hindrance to the idea of them being together. If they go that way. Mostly because Kratos may of been the one to snap Baldurs neck, but Freya had during the events of Ragnorok accepted that the reason he died was due to Prophecy, what it drives one to do, and Odin, who used baulder like a tool not a son.
if they went that route though it would definitely take time as Kratos while changing still takes time to change, and it's likely wouldn't be very physical at first. Plus I would imagine Kratos would want his son's opinion on the idea and we know Atreus hasn't swung back into the Realms sense he left.

Look it's not wishful thinking. Yes he killed Baldur her son but she knows it was not truly Kratos fault. Part of it was hers, most of it was Odin's and lets be honest Baldur had a choice. Secondly if anyone know's the Ragnarok myth then you know that Baldur is supposed to revive anyway at the end of it. They can play with that in the future. Thirdly, Freya has two more children named Hnoss and Gersemi according to Norse Mythology from a husband named Odr, which means divine madness, frantic, furious, vehement and eager. Also it could possibly mean "Frenzied One". Sound like anyone we know? Most scholar's believe Odr and Odin are one and the same but clearly God of War doesn't so where is Odr?

It seems unlikely to me that they'd go there in the future with this series, but with Kratos now accepting the position of god of war of the nordic realms and Freya in her own way assuming Odin's position, it wouldn't be too far fetched, especially perhaps if the games going forward take some of the focus off of Kratos and onto Atreus.

Faye helped Kratos in a way no one else possibly could, made an impact on him that no one else possibly could, hell she knew more about him than anyone else possibly could, with Mimir being a potential exception to that thanks to this DLC. Kratos said himself that he is the man he is now because of Faye. Not even Lysandra, his first wife, influenced him in such a way, apart from the whole swearing to kill Ares for tricking him into killing her thing. Freya does mean a lot to Kratos now, as he said himself, but I personally don't think it would make much sense for the two to go beyond anything more than confidantes and trusted allies.

Kratos would have a wife, Freya gets a new child to care for (hopefully not making the same mistake she made with Baldur again when she made that enchantment before it was too late to make up for it), and Atreus gets a new sibling (favorably a sister from my thoughts because of the possible Valkyrie-spartan fusion)😏

Yes, I agree. It’s weird to suggest they that would get married or “fall in love” and have kids.
However, it’s not entirely out of the picture that they would have some romantic feelings for each other. She forgives Kratos for Baldur, but she will always be angry in general for his death, not necessarily angry at HIM. She knew Odin was the one truly at fault, Kratos was just doing what he thought was right in the moment, and showed regret.
It’s why Freya smiles after they shake hands, because that negativity and wrath she felt for Kratos went away. She forgave him for it, and he admits he still feels bad about it which tells her it wasn’t out of cold blood.
He killed her son. Yes. Odin was responsible. Odin never felt bad for Baldur, Kratos did. Kratos even defended Baldur, Odin did nothing but insult everyone and treat everyone as a tool.
      Freya recognizes this.
Still, I don’t think she’d marry the man that snapped her son’s neck, BUT, she forgave Kratos and she was definitely flirting with him after they worked things out.
There’s definitely some romantic tension between them, even if all they will be is good friends.
Why would he say “I… _value_ Freya…” and then Mimir says “Nice to hear you admit it”. Why would Mimir say that if Kratos just meant he enjoys her as a friend? Everyone knows they’re friends. Why would Mimir say it’s nice for Kratos to admit he values her? Because of the emphasis on “value”.
Kratos told Mimir, in that moment, that he likes Freya, more than a friend would, and Mimir says “Ahhh! I knew you did! 🫵”
It’s very obvious that they have romantic feelings for each other, even if they’re subtle.

im a shipper in games and series but i don't think this ship really need to be sailed and the relationship Shouldnt be a "thing". they can be a great team and leaders for the realms, don't need to be a lovey dovey to make them care each other. because no one can replaced faye for kratos imo. but if the game want to sail them because you know, old man and woman also need partners. I'm fine with it and they deserved it, but just feels, odd... Close friend is enough in this situation.

It's too funny that Freya moves her eyes from left to right as if she's reading a script.

I do think Kratos thinks of the relationship between them as platonic, hence the "you know better." part. I would prefer Santa Monica go the more emotionally mature route of having them just be very good friends and avoid the trope of the end goal of a friendship between a man and a woman must be romantic love.

I don’t think so. The dialogue doesn’t support it. Only one line by Mimir in the entire dlc hints at it. If they did wind up together, I don’t think Baldur’s death would stop Freya.

Not the fan service type by any means, but it’s not entirely impossible for Kratos and Freya to end up together. After all, Baldur was kind of too far gone and I think Freya knows that.

Agreed she knows that kratos was just defending her and his son Atreus someone who she also cares a lot about like her own son, and I think after the Norns she accepted that she was the one who killed him, she even hallucinates herself killing baldur, and also defended kratos against the norns by saying that what kratos did wasn’t out of hate.

That said, it would be great if Freya has a little bit of anger towards Kratos still, but overtime she would open up more to accept him fully. Honestly, they both deserve, like, really deserve a happy life. I mean, they are far away from they children, one way or another. I like the idea of romance any day as long is well writing

I dont think I'd call it fan service, I'm fairly positive the intent is that they're trying to forge a new relationship despite the traumatic events and that of course causes it to be a bumpy, odd road. They're both learning, growing, getting familiar with one another as people, not just allied gods.

The fact that someone is mean enough to say this version of KRatos is not the best version of his, older, wiser and not a pit of hatred is insane to me.
The guy sure is wise now.

If they do go the rought of them falling in love, they'd need to develop it more.
Also if they do end up together, and most likely have kids, maybe they will nane their son Baldur, to honor her son.
Maybe they might have Twins, a Boy & Girl.
