This is called landlord special
But actually done better then a landlord would
Its funny..when I first got new wood cabinets, everyone kept saying i should paint them.. so finally I did.. then the following year trends changed and I sanded & refinished them back to the oak.. NOW they're painting again😮 screw it 😂😂😂😂
😂😂
That's why you have to do your own dance 😂😂
Get ahead of the game- sand it down, and apply a wallpaper. They have some extremely nice wallpapers out there now, not just the old wallpaper patterns that look like your grandmother's couch with the plastic covers.
That's what happens when you follow trends to keep up.....
You did not EVEN take the cabinet doors off its hinges... Seriously?
My first thoughts
Me too
I painted my kitchen cabinets with the doors on. A place for me to work on them without doors everywhere, I painted on both sides of the door tho, & left them ajar to dry. Then I didn't have to fight matching all the screw holes putting the doors back. I also cleaned out the entire inside of the cabinets & painted with a nice Kilz Colors semi-gloss. So much better than shelf liner to me.
That's what I was thinking 🤔. It looks AWESOME though! Taking all the Cabinet doors off is what's been holding me back.
That's time consuming, no one has time for that....lol. I want to be able to paint and get it over with.
so, you just painted over the hinges?
Didn’t sand the cabinets either ?
That paint is going to scratch off so easily.
That’s what the knobs are for. I always tell people don’t touch my paint!!
Lol but I don't want knobs on my cabinets has a little lip inside to open my cabinets
I like the natural look before it painted
Yukkkkkk
That orange wood is so outdated and ugly
It’s hideous.
@@stajia4694you do realize the wood is not the same as the chosen stain that gives it that color... right? They can restain the oak an enormous range of colors.
Thanks for the how-not-to vidoe
They didn’t even sand it 😱
You don't have to with Heirloom Traditions :)
Liquid sandpaper my man
They could have took the doors of in like 15 minutes.
@@matthewhoward2863 We womenfolk don't have that kind of patience.
You don’t need to sand when using bin primer oil base
It was Beautiful. Before ,liked the teak look .Nice afterwards too, I do like white
That is a 1990's looking kitchen. I would of numbered the doors and removed them. I like the darker color on the base cabinets and light color on the uppers.
I laugh every time i read a comment that says they liked the natural look of the wood better. I have never seen natural orange wood.
Thats because oak has a specific grain, as does walnut etc. Go price out solid oak cabinets vs laminated particle board cabinets, because that is what the white makes it appear to be, effectively making the cabinets appear cheap. The stain/finish is merely the color applied to the grain to enhance, seal, and protect the wood. They should have restained it a different color.
Like the previous one more
Absolutely awesome and give the illusion of more space
I painted our builder grade cabinets throughout our house before we put it on the market and we had multiple offers the first day it was listed.
The natural wood is so much more comforting and pretty than the modern lifeless white/grey imo
I think orange wood looks rubbish and out dated ❤❤ everyone has different tastes 😆😆
The white and black looks clean and modern and is much better than having it be all grey like most people are unfortunately currently doing it. Natural wood is beautiful too when it's the right tone and if it's been taken care of, but that specific tone of natural wood they had before just looked like some elderly couple's home from the early 1990s.
Wood can be gorgeous, just not that orange shade.
Not that orange trash. We had the same thing in our section 8 housing complex growing up. Never again 🤮
Prefer it before painting. The natural wood was beautiful. DIY is the point 😊
There's nothing natural about orange wood.
Do you know how hard it is to keep clean white cabinets. The old cabinets looked beautiful then you did that.
They clean very well! I've had painted cabinets in my kitchen for over a year, and they still hold up like new!
I don't know who would screw up wood cabinets with paint anyway 🤦
How’s the paint holding up? Wanting to paint over my dark stained cabinets not sure what brand or type things
With only $200? Wow! That is amazing 😍 I'm looking to paint my cabinets.
Looks amazing
The original Is so nostalgic
It’s really beautiful
I love it i have oak cabinets but want to paint them to
But do t do them like this video. Do the prep work
We did prep these cabinets properly before painting them.
Like the update! How did you keep hinges clean?
They didn’t. Most likely because they didn’t fully paint the entire door. It’s not possible if they didn’t remove the doors and hardware.
Love Heirloom Pants
No Sanding
All In One
I use this pant and Love It 💖
Pants 🤦
AWesome! budget friendly upgrades!
Gonna do this
Beautiful work ladies💪🏿💪🏿
La illaha illa Allah ❤
In 5 years the oak look will be back in style.
Cabinets looked better the way they were before. Now there are too many colors going on. All that with the background sound can make anyone super hyper! 😅😅
The wood was beautiful before. That paint isn’t gonna stick without sanding.
Thats what our surface prep is for :)
Just did my Living room and kitchen love love it under 200 dollars
My kitchen layout is the exact same. It looks very nice.
Gorgeous!
Great video of what not do to!
No sanding? Probably won’t last long
No sanding needed with this paing
@@natalieeubank4533😂😂 As a professional painter who owns a painting company and finishes cabinets all the time…..sanding is always needed. It creates mechanical bond so that paint and primer can bite to the surface and not peel or chip.
The magic of editing
Awesome work.
Thank you! Cheers!
I NEED THIS PAINT!! 😍

@@HeirloomTraditionsPaint Thank you
You didn’t take off the doors at all ? And I have peeling paint or whatever it’s called do I need to sand it first ?
If you have old paint peeling you will need to lightly sand those areas :)
Don't advice from this channel
Absolutely priceless!!
This is a dream come true. About to a kitchen reno
Looks fabulous
This was a bit crazy haha but I do love the outcome 😂
I did not think it was going to turn out as nice as it did. 😳
Amazing!
The problem wasn't the cabinets. It's the countertops. If you put a nice countertop in, it would have looked better
i like the after fresh white kitchen love it 🥰🥰🥰😍
Isn't it Beautiful! :)
just love it ❤️❤️. i wanna make my kitchen of this type
Absolutely Beautiful!! Can you please do my kitchen too❤️
Wow. Night and day. ❤
I love it.
How do you paint over cabinets that has already been painted that may have some chipping
My house is small bungalow. I’m replacing my flooring with laminate flooring . I have oak cabinets . I don’t want to go dark . Will a lighter color look ok
What you want! Its 100% up to you!
What do you do if the hardware is showing. Just cover with tape?
Nice upgrade!! You can see how orangey that oak really is because of the remaining floor. That's how orange that cabinetry was!! I have some old oak cabinetry to repurpose for a basement family room kitchen area and i sure am debating what to do with that. Not loving that original color but the problem is my husband built 2 oak corner cupboards, and these cabinets match his projects, and it's against his religion to paint wood 😂. He would have a cow if i painted those!!
They look great! I just did my cupboards too, I sanded lightly with a sand brick& primed lightly too and painted white also, they came out amazing. I’m really happy with how they came out. You seriously don’t need a sander, this video is proof.
It looked much better before you painted it.
Is the countertop marble or board?
Before the started, i was thinking if it were me, i'd paint it black and white. And they did. 😂🤣😂🤣😂
But i suggest not to paint it directly just like that, that paint most likely fade quickly and patchy. 😅
Our paint does not dry patchy and it does not fade. I have had this paint on my cabinets in my personal kitchen for close to a year and they still look great now like they did on day 1
How
I've used this paint for several projects around the house. I am debating on oainting my kitchen cabinets, and I'm wondering if I need to take the cabinet doors off???
Yes! Taking off the doors will yield a much better result.
Nice! 💛💚💙
Kitchens are the one room in a house that you DON'T skimp & budget on. They're expensive to fit & they're expensive to refresh. Just save and do it properly because they take a battering. I doubt this will hold up.
What is the wall color you chose?
It didn’t look all in one it looked like u primed it? Is that one coat or was it primer
Nice change! The countertop though should also be dark.
I like it
I liked the wood better
I would love to see a homeowner job vs my 20 years of experience of painting especially when you can't compare a brush and roll to a hvlp spay system any way I can get a sample so I can do a comparison with me and my gf ?

Got that landlord special 😂😂😂
Pretty
Is this reversible?
Really nice work. Looks terrific. I hope you feel proud of your outcome
wow 🤩 👌👌
What color is the bottom cabinets? I like the green color
The bottom cabinets are Weathervane, But we do have a few dark green options:)
The countertops r different tho too
We painted them too! Its our Carrara marble bundle :)
Awesome
what is with old people painting everything white, black or gray
Before is better 😂
How do you paint the doors without painting the inside first... 🤔
It is what ever way you want to do it! There is no wrong or right way in the order you want to paint your cabinets :)
Has any of it scratched off yet? You know, the jagged shards the scrape off.
Dee ah wah tips
That looks very similar to my kitchen, but I think my cabinets are not in as great shape. I’ve never done anything like that before so I’m actually scared to death to even try.
Did you paint inside the cabinet?
Its personal preference, but most people do :)
It turned out nice but I loved the natural wood, I’d of probably stained to a darker color
Honestly you took the character out of that kitchen and turned it into every run-of-the-mill cabinet color in the US. You should've just added a backsplash or changed the counters instead.
Looks great!
That kitchen was beautiful! What is wrong with it?!
The Homeowner just wanted a lighter and Brighter space :)
It’s outdated
I was just asking a question!
Ok! That's cool!
@@BenR777 the color and design of the wood is outdated or atleast not paired well with everything else. Alot of modern design like Japandi uses wood but it has warm based colors that flow better
Why not remove the hardware and doors , then paint?
What color is the wall paint
It looks like a light grey
What color is that kitchen? Anyone know?😅
I wi see what kind of paint they used.
Heirloom Traditions
Need a closeup shot of the finish
Can't believe you painted over oak wood
