freeza was doing some of his work on behalf of berus so a kai fighting him wasn't an option. most of the Zfighters staying dead means that berus has no reason to go to earth. which is the safer choice over letting the androids cause havoc. outside the objective of killing goku their main goal is to live freely unbound by rules. not so much to wipe out humanity much less other planets or a galaxy.
The Kai excuse is so wild because this all assumes that Androids 17 and 18 (or later Cell, if possible) wouldn't find Bulma's tech (especially the spaceships) and use it as a motivator to go off world to ease their boredom. Especially Cell given he has Freeza's DNA.

It's interesting and funny how Toriyama, without really having a whole lot of foresight and pre-planning accidentally added lore and timeliness when he decided to insert time travel to his story. Sometimes one stumbles into success.
Putting an awful lot of stock in "King Kai would pay attention to his pupils". Based on the otherworld tournament, he's got far more *dead* pupils than living ones. Regardless, the question ultimately boils down not to whether King Kai knew what was happening on Earth, but whether he was willing to do anything about it. The Androids are, notably, native to Earth. Even if a few of King Kai's pupils happen to live there, it would be a very hard sell to intervene in any way. Furthermore, all of King Kai's pupils died from the initial Android attack (except Goku who died of a heart virus earlier). At that point, what's done is done. He no longer has a personal connection with Earth. It's obviously not a pleasant thing to think about, but it's a plausible explanation.
@@heycxpidLiterally the easiest thing for King Kai to do is to use his telepathy to call the Namekians so They use their Dragonballs to bring back the Z fighters, which in turn would also restore earth's Dragonballs. Or he could establish a connection between dead Goku and Gohan, so that Goku can give Gohan advice on how to get stronger or tell him about the Time Chamber. Imagine what the Androids would do if Piccolo Fused with Kami and trained with Gohan, or a Post Time Chamber Vegeta and Gohan pulled up.

Though that also doesn't stop Goku from convincing King Kai too communicate with Trunks or Future Gohan. They are basically best friends during the Other World Tournament which isn't considered canon but still there is no reason why King Kai and Goku aren't hanging out with each other during the Android invasion. Though King Kai isn't dead technically in that timeline either.
King Kai could have contacted the Namekians to use a wish to revive Goku and another one to heal him... But hey, let's make the story as dark as possible!

Supreme Kai had no business ignoring those Androids. If we’re going by the logic that there’s only a handful of habitable planets left, then why the hell would the Kais ignore wanton destruction on Earth? If a bunch of random worlds were being fucked by disasters, are they just going to ignore them all and lose all of those worlds? By ignoring the Androids the Kais are LITERALLY not doing their jobs.
And worst part, Keeping those fighters alive would be interesting on the behalf of this: The Buu ball is on Earth, so logically Babidi is coming over someday so wouldn't be better having the guy who killed the emperor of the universe that at that point was known to be the strongest on the universe? The guy who could get even stronger so being stronger than Babidi's minions would actually be useful
The plot holes and bad writing are the best part of DB. If it was well written, I wouldn't have all these videos trying to explain things or do what-ifs to watch.

The Original Timeline is probably the most safe timeline due to there not being strong people left in the universe, and Goku Black never went there. Cell left to go back in time, leaving Earth to do their thing.
moral of the story the various “gods” of the db universe really don’t care about what happens in the mortal plane, unless they deem it as a threat to themselves. If they did then someone (whether it have been supreme kai or beerus, etc etc) would have dealt with frieza or any other multi-planetary threat, but they have no moral obligations to as far as they’re concerned. Future Gohan beeing killed is as a plot hole. He could have just waited for some years, trained with Trunk, and just fought together with Trunks against these (weaker) future Androids

But it's actually consistent for him to try to fight the Androids trying to save as many people as he can. You could say the whole Future Saga is plothole due to the inconsistency with the other timelines, but only Gohan's death within is not. It's a character acting stupid. But that's something DB Characters tend to do, including Gohan.

King Kai didn't help because after Goku died, when he went to visit King Kai, Mira and Towa ambushed them after finding that timeline to control them. Following that they grabbed all the other Z Fighters after the androids killed them.
I personally feel like based off the present timeline, King Kai went to show Goku around heaven and possibly retire. And by the time he learns of the news in the immediate presence of other gods, they were told off from using the Dragon Balls. But we really only learn about the potential imbalance once we meet Elder Kai or when they’re trying to wish Porunga over.
I'd assume that like in the filler of the anime, once future Goku died and went to train, King Kai went with him and basically left the entire north galaxy on hold for years. He probably didn't even know anything was going on.

Only way for the story to work, so, Toriyama probably considered that, but just hoped people wouldn't notice or care too much. Or maybe the characters did the one-day visit and died again, so they're gone for good. Probably would have been mentioned, though.

Remember that sort of thing isn't his job and isn't supposed to be dealing with threats to the Mortal Level, that's the God of Destruction's job. This is how i see it, I think that King Kai should have been a character written differently than the one we got, and the thing that would fix this is for King Kai to simply be juste a trainer for our fighters, and to just react to galactic threats like Frieza, and he is not supposed to care about anything else and he is not supposed to help anyone who asks him, except the gods who are of a higher rank than him.

Well, with regard to the Supreme Kai, it's kind of expected for him to be that neglectful. After all, he completely ignored Frieza's interstellar reign of terror despite saying outright that he could've killed Frieza with a single punch.
My headcanon is that King Kai TRIED TO help them, going so far as to do some of those things you suggested, and he got in trouble. The higher-up kais intervened and stopped King Kai from helping, as it was against the rules.

But my personal head-cannon about it is because none of his students were alive he couldn't directly aid them. So really what Gohan should have done instead of become his Dad he should have become the New Kami so he could seek help from the higher powers.

You could simply argue that babidi and dabura of cells timeline simply destroyed earth after resurrecting buu since there would LITERALLY be no resistance at all since even trunks is dead.

King Kai knows what he's doing man! Using his wisdom and gift of foresight, like Doctor Strange did in Endgame, he searched for the best possible outcome among the many multiverses, and he realised that Trunks had to endure such tragedy to mould him into the man he now is, and to ultimately go back in time to be the saviour of the main timeline. Only under those circumstances could there be any chance of defeating both versions of Cell, and ultimately saving the Universe from erasure in the Tournament of Power through the help of Android 17, who became a good guy. (Okay I am trying my best here)
OK I got another perspective on this after scrolling through the comments, excuse me if this does come up in the video: Why did King Kai help Goku initially? Yeah, ostensibly because of Earth's population threatening to be glassed when the Saiyans would come, but consider this instead: King Kai is a god. An immortal. What were the Saiyans going to wish for? Immortality. Same with Frieza. So I'd say King Kai definitely had a horse in those races, so to speak, because having immortals spring up would destabilize the godly order. And who does King Kai answer to, eventually? Kaioshins. And we see how they don't like "morties" attaining god-level power, *let alone immortality*. The Androids? They were never going to go off-world WHILE ALSO threatening the godly order.
If you rewatch when goku teleported up there to look for new namek King Kai was completely unaware of the androids and cell. He was surprised someone was stronger than frieza. He clearly wasn’t following the events

I always suspected that the Dragon Team all bumrushed 17 and 18, and all died on the same day and occasion. But yeah, there isn't any excuse why Goku couldn't telepathically communicate with Gohan about the time chamber. It's just a lack of foresight on Toriyama's part. The only thing that makes sense to me is all of the following: 1. Nobody was permitted to go to Kaio's planet again 2. Goku stopped hanging out with Kaio, and Kaio forgot about checking in on Earth. 3. Nobody was able to locate Goku in the afterlife to let him know what was going on.

4:33 To be fair, Dragon Ball is kind of similar to other series like Berserk, or any other series in that stupid mistakes are what further the series. Berserk primarily because Griffith got mad when Guts left the band of the hawk, and thus the events of Berserk kickstarted. You know what would have been really funny, if trunks had received the Z sword and when he went back in time because of Goku Black, Goku asks to borrow the sword and he just snapped it on his knee on purpose. Trucks would be freaking out. I can just imagine him say, "Goku! What the F!?
My only guess is Black Goku was having fun killing both heaven, hell, New Namik, and while keeping everyone else occupied. This is my guess and it’s a really bad guess, but this is the only explanation I have
one of the reasons I saw most logical is once goku died there was no hope left for the z fighters as its been Goku's who gotten them out of the toughest situations. Even if you factor vegeta who possibly turned super saiyan in the future saga, the circumstances where mostly in favor of the androids. Goku was the only one of the z fighters that had a link with king kai to contact him, now that can be argued as goku has use telepath to contact the z fighters from long distances. Also it Seemed like the z fighters were killed shortly after one another after the androids first emerged. Meaning gohan's been handling them for who knows how long
But .. what would they even do if they were revived. Only Goku knew about the hyperbolic time chamber, and he died of natural causes and Vegeta would probably just end with himself killed again. Namekian dragon balls can only revive one person at a time, however who would they even revive in that case that could train to combat them with their current resources. These are z-fighters without the 3 years of training beforehand too.
Use 2 of the 3 wishes to bring back Piccolo and Vegeta. Goku could have easily told them about the Time Chamber and his discoveries about Super Saiyan in the afterlife, or telepathically through King Kai from the Afterlife after their resurrection. Then either Piccolo and Vegeta, Piccolo and Gohan or Vegeta and Gohan enter the Time Chamber. You could even, while Gohan and Vegeta train in the Chamber, let Piccolo use Earth's Dragonballs to restore everything to how it was before the Android attack, then he Fuses with Kami and goes to fight the Androids. If the future Androids really are weaker he might just defeat them by himself and even if they aren't and Trunks is just wrong about it, he can delay them from destroying everything again until Vegeta and Gohan are ready to beat them. Or he just wishes for himself to become immortal before fusing with Kami because then he can definitely beat them. There is a multitude of possible ways how to stop it, because Dragonball Doesn't really have consequences unless the Author starts to ignore his own world.

That may be the only viable option that makes sense, that I can't fully deny being possible. (Then piccolo would probably find out about the chamber through fusing but we don't even know if the lookout was destroyed or not at some point already.) And Vegeta is simply too prideful to not just get his ass beat again the moment he returns. (I mean he really b-lined it to try to attack full power Frieza the very MOMENT he got revived. He went swinging right away), and again he wouldn't be ABLE to train with the others, since he'd be in hell. Unless he trains with someone like Nappa to get stronger in the mean time (since I doubt he'd lower himself to training with cold, frieza, or the ginyu force who we can assume were the strongest in hell.) Also trunks could just be saying they were weaker, since the whole time he was fighting them with Gohan, they were mostly just playing around with them. They never stood a chance and so they never showcased their true strength that they could gauge clearly. I'm not talking much about Gohan, since his weird character arc was.... strange so maybe he'd be more sensible after he returns. That's up to hopeful wishes.

Assuming dying of natural causes leads to a different afterlife honestly seems more unlikely to me as there has never been any mention about there being a difference as far as I'm aware. And even if that would be the case then Kami would still be able to tell Piccolo about the Time Chamber. And you say that Vegeta is too prideful to enter the Hyperbolic Time Chamber after being defeated, when that's literally what he did in the present Timeline. I mean it's not even clear if he was a Super Saiyan at that point so it's not like it would be impossible for Piccolo or Gohan to stop his first rampage and then tell him about it. And well like I said if they aren't weaker then Piccolo is still as strong as 17 on his own after fusing with Kami. If he becomes immortal then he would be able to defeat them for sure, especially if he had Gohan and Vegeta as back up.
Hot take, but out of the 4 DBZ arcs. The android/cell Saga is the worst and has the most problems. The third act of the arc is peak DB for sure, but everything else completely blows. Lol

I went full nerd and tried to write out how the Future timeline would go if it made sense, and it’s only interesting for Android Arc, “Buu” Arc (it’s replaced by OG DB Style MA Tournament), BoG x Broly, ToP, the Final Cell fight
I would love to see you do a few what if. What if in both future timelines the senzu beans did not go extinct. What if Raditz Vegeta and Nappa survived and turned good. What if when Nappa and Vegeta arrived on Earth Turles and his Crusher crew to kill Nappa and Vegeta by order of Frieza. And yes technically that one could the combined with What if Raditz Vegeta and Nappa survived and turned good. What if Kamu gained his youth at the same time that King Piccolo regained his. What if the nameless namekian instead of separating self into 2 he created a egg with two namekian in it one of them being King Piccolo and the other being Kami bring himself of all that evil by putting it into King Piccolo and yeah King Piccolo and Kami would still be connected so if one dies the other dies. What if all Saiyan/human hybrids was always born as twins one boy one girl. What if every single person that Goku fought in the series became of Z fighter. What if every single Z fighter that ever became of Z fighter gain the memories of themselves from Super and GT when they were kids and yes the Stars include Hercule Satan and the spouses of the z-fighters in the form of Dreams that the kids had. And the villains of all of the series and given knowledge and wisdom of the future about the defeat but not who will defeat them by the time Breakers. And know the D Fighters do not get the powers immediately they have to train for it even though they have the memories they don't have the powers immediately it would not be fun for them and it would not be entertaining for us if they had them immediately. What if Bulma and Chichi became Z fighters in the original series and still married Goku and Vegeta. What if Bulma Chi-Chi and Videl became Saiyan/human hybrids by wishing for it. What if Piccolo revived King Piccolo without any of his evil but with all of his power abilities and skills that he should have and after the Buu saga King Piccolo gets revived and mudige with Piccolo jr. Will Piccolo jr. Being the main body and mind they'll be using. Okay that's all I have for right now but hopefully you like a few of these and we'll use them and if that happens I can't wait to watch it.

We don't know also if king kai disappears with some condition like beerus and supreme kai. They could retconn this as it has happened before. That could have happened in the future timeline.
There's the take that since Goku died of natural causes, he never kept his body and got his spirit recycled like most people. That leaves Krillin and the others... but they don't have Instant Transmission even if King Kai helped. I think this squares the circle nicely. It's interesting and funny how Toriyama, without really having a whole lot of foresight and pre-planning accidentally added lore and timeliness when he decided to insert time travel to his story. Sometimes one stumbles into success.
Toriyama’s first editor said Dragon Ball is a fun story and nothing else. You have nerds who take it too serious.
Putting an awful lot of stock in "King Kai would pay attention to his pupils". Based on the otherworld tournament, he's got far more *dead* pupils than living ones.
Regardless, the question ultimately boils down not to whether King Kai knew what was happening on Earth, but whether he was willing to do anything about it. The Androids are, notably, native to Earth. Even if a few of King Kai's pupils happen to live there, it would be a very hard sell to intervene in any way.
Furthermore, all of King Kai's pupils died from the initial Android attack (except Goku who died of a heart virus earlier). At that point, what's done is done. He no longer has a personal connection with Earth.
It's obviously not a pleasant thing to think about, but it's a plausible explanation.

Or he could establish a connection between dead Goku and Gohan, so that Goku can give Gohan advice on how to get stronger or tell him about the Time Chamber. Imagine what the Androids would do if Piccolo Fused with Kami and trained with Gohan, or a Post Time Chamber Vegeta and Gohan pulled up.

Though King Kai isn't dead technically in that timeline either.

The Original Timeline is probably the most safe timeline due to there not being strong people left in the universe, and Goku Black never went there. Cell left to go back in time, leaving Earth to do their thing.
moral of the story the various “gods” of the db universe really don’t care about what happens in the mortal plane, unless they deem it as a threat to themselves. If they did then someone (whether it have been supreme kai or beerus, etc etc) would have dealt with frieza or any other multi-planetary threat, but they have no moral obligations to as far as they’re concerned. King Kai didn't help because after Goku died, when he went to visit King Kai, Mira and Towa ambushed them after finding that timeline to control them. Following that they grabbed all the other Z Fighters after the androids killed them.

Only way for the story to work, so, Toriyama probably considered that, but just hoped people wouldn't notice or care too much. Or maybe the characters did the one-day visit and died again, so they're gone for good. Probably would have been mentioned, though.

Well, with regard to the Supreme Kai, it's kind of expected for him to be that neglectful. After all, he completely ignored Frieza's interstellar reign of terror despite saying outright that he could've killed Frieza with a single punch.
It was Beerus job not his job. Supreme Kai got involve because Majin Buu was a universal threat. Androids were contain on Earth.
My headcanon is that King Kai TRIED TO help them, going so far as to do some of those things you suggested, and he got in trouble. The higher-up kais intervened and stopped King Kai from helping, as it was against the rules.

King Kai knows what he's doing man!
Using his wisdom and gift of foresight, like Doctor Strange did in Endgame, he searched for the best possible outcome among the many multiverses, and he realised that Trunks had to endure such tragedy to mould him into the man he now is, and to ultimately go back in time to be the saviour of the main timeline. Only under those circumstances could there be any chance of defeating both versions of Cell, and ultimately saving the Universe from erasure in the Tournament of Power through the help of Android 17, who became a good guy.

Why did King Kai help Goku initially? Yeah, ostensibly because of Earth's population threatening to be glassed when the Saiyans would come, but consider this instead:
King Kai is a god. An immortal. What were the Saiyans going to wish for? Immortality. Same with Frieza. So I'd say King Kai definitely had a horse in those races, so to speak, because having immortals spring up would destabilize the godly order. And who does King Kai answer to, eventually? Kaioshins. And we see how they don't like "morties" attaining god-level power, *let alone immortality*.
The Androids? They were never going to go off-world WHILE ALSO threatening the godly order.
But consider this: Shin is incompetent and barely knew Earth aside of the Buu ball

I always suspected that the Dragon Team all bumrushed 17 and 18, and all died on the same day and occasion. But yeah, there isn't any excuse why Goku couldn't telepathically communicate with Gohan about the time chamber. It's just a lack of foresight on Toriyama's part. The only thing that makes sense to me is all of the following:
1. Nobody was permitted to go to Kaio's planet again
2. Goku stopped hanging out with Kaio, and Kaio forgot about checking in on Earth.
3. Nobody was able to locate Goku in the afterlife to let him know what was going on.

4:33 To be fair, Dragon Ball is kind of similar to other series like Berserk, or any other series in that stupid mistakes are what further the series. Berserk primarily because Griffith got mad when Guts left the band of the hawk, and thus the events of Berserk kickstarted. Same situation with Dragon Ball, although granted the mistakes King Kai, Goku, Piccolo, and Krillin made was much more out of character versus Griffith, but point still stands that mistakes help further the plot

You know what would have been really funny, if trunks had received the Z sword and when he went back in time because of Goku Black, Goku asks to borrow the sword and he just snapped it on his knee on purpose. Trucks would be freaking out. I can just imagine him say, "Goku! What the F!?
My only guess is Black Goku was having fun killing both heaven, hell, New Namik, and while keeping everyone else occupied. This is my guess and it’s a really bad guess, but this is the only explanation I have
one of the reasons I saw most logical is once goku died there was no hope left for the z fighters as its been Goku's who gotten them out of the toughest situations. Even if you factor vegeta who possibly turned super saiyan in the future saga, the circumstances where mostly in favor of the androids. Goku was the only one of the z fighters that had a link with king kai to contact him, now that can be argued as goku has use telepath to contact the z fighters from long distances. Also it Seemed like the z fighters were killed shortly after one another after the androids first emerged. Meaning gohan's been handling them for who knows how long

But .. what would they even do if they were revived. Only Goku knew about the hyperbolic time chamber, and he died of natural causes and Vegeta would probably just end with himself killed again. Namekian dragon balls can only revive one person at a time, however who would they even revive in that case that could train to combat them with their current resources.
These are z-fighters without the 3 years of training beforehand too.
Use 2 of the 3 wishes to bring back Piccolo and Vegeta. Goku could have easily told them about the Time Chamber and his discoveries about Super Saiyan in the afterlife, or telepathically through King Kai from the Afterlife after their resurrection. Then either Piccolo and Vegeta, Piccolo and Gohan or Vegeta and Gohan enter the Time Chamber. You could even, while Gohan and Vegeta train in the Chamber, let Piccolo use Earth's Dragonballs to restore everything to how it was before the Android attack, then he Fuses with Kami and goes to fight the Androids. If the future Androids really are weaker he might just defeat them by himself and even if they aren't and Trunks is just wrong about it, he can delay them from destroying everything again until Vegeta and Gohan are ready to beat them. Or he just wishes for himself to become immortal before fusing with Kami because then he can definitely beat them.
There is a multitude of possible ways how to stop it, because Dragonball Doesn't really have consequences unless the Author starts to ignore his own world.

Also idk about Piccolo-kami. That may be the only viable option that makes sense, that I can't fully deny being possible. (Then piccolo would probably find out about the chamber through fusing but we don't even know if the lookout was destroyed or not at some point already.)
And Vegeta is simply too prideful to not just get his ass beat again the moment he returns. (I mean he really b-lined it to try to attack full power Frieza the very MOMENT he got revived. He went swinging right away), and again he wouldn't be ABLE to train with the others, since he'd be in hell. Unless he trains with someone like Nappa to get stronger in the mean time (since I doubt he'd lower himself to training with cold, frieza, or the ginyu force who we can assume were the strongest in hell.)
Also trunks could just be saying they were weaker, since the whole time he was fighting them with Gohan, they were mostly just playing around with them. They never stood a chance and so they never showcased their true strength that they could gauge clearly.
I'm not talking much about Gohan, since his weird character arc was.... strange so maybe he'd be more sensible after he returns. That's up to hopeful wishes.

Assuming dying of natural causes leads to a different afterlife honestly seems more unlikely to me as there has never been any mention about there being a difference as far as I'm aware. And even if that would be the case then Kami would still be able to tell Piccolo about the Time Chamber.
And you say that Vegeta is too prideful to enter the Hyperbolic Time Chamber after being defeated, when that's literally what he did in the present Timeline. I mean it's not even clear if he was a Super Saiyan at that point so it's not like it would be impossible for Piccolo or Gohan to stop his first rampage and then tell him about it.
And well like I said if they aren't weaker then Piccolo is still as strong as 17 on his own after fusing with Kami. If he becomes immortal then he would be able to defeat them for sure, especially if he had Gohan and Vegeta as back up.
Hot take, but out of the 4 DBZ arcs. The android/cell Saga is the worst and has the most problems.

We don't know also if king kai disappears with some condition like beerus and supreme kai. They could retconn this as it has happened before. That could have happened in the future timeline.
There's the take that since Goku died of natural causes, he never kept his body and got his spirit recycled like most people. That leaves Krillin and the others... but they don't have Instant Transmission even if King Kai helped. I think this squares the circle nicely.

You could say the Z fighters just gave up and accepted being dead, but considering how in the show they always try to pull out every last hail mary they can when everyone's in danger, it doesn't fit.
For Shin I do think he would've just let them struggle as he thinks of big picture universal threats like Buu. I mean if the androids destroying ONE planet was enough then where was he when Freeza was terrorizing everything. So clearly while he didn't like Freeza he was chasing Babidi the entire time.

There's a zero percent chance that the Z fighters would've just accepted being dead. In the present timeline they got beat and Piccolo came up with the idea of fusing with Kami right after. Not to mention that they could've used the time chamber.

My current theory is that King Kai was forbidden from intervening because events were playing out as they were historically intended. Evidence of this being that Trunks giving Goku the heart virus vaccine was considered a crime against history.
If Witch Baba was still alive in the Trunks Timeline , she should have let multiple Z Fighters fight against the androids if she can do it of course
The truth is King Kai and Goku interacted with each others thru out the Dragon Ball franchise and King Kai never interacted with anyone else. Also! Did Future Trunks ever go and look for Dr. Gero underground laboratory when he went back to his timeline after seeing all the projects and designs he left behind in the present timeline?? There maybe no need for him to do that, but he could have learn those other Androids could have been exist and not activate other than 17 & 18 running around causing destruction daily.

Goku Black became a thing when present Day Trunks was nearing his teen years. and when Black traveled to future Trunk's timeline he "probably" didn't go to the future but was present Future Trunks met Future Gohan.
