Thanks for posting. Just got an email from my MRI tech school saying I didn’t get accepted so feeling kinda down. I’m 25 so I’m really trying to get a med career started, just having some difficulty getting accepted. But I’m determined and won’t give up
Yo! Thanks for watching Please remember to Subscribe, Watch & Like 👍🏽 my videos it helps reach more people 🙏🏽 Ok so don’t worry about not making it in. Maybe this is a sign that there’s other medical careers out there to choose from with better work/life balance. Don’t give up, I’d just try again. My mom is a doctor and one thing she told me to not give up is that even doctors fail their exams/don’t get accepted right away and may take 3 attempts to finally make it. Keep going!👍
@@Armyblink4life554 thanks for the kind words. The school I originally applied for ended up reaching out to me and said they had space for me in their program, so I’ll be starting at the end of March! Super happy
Hi 👋 Welcome 🙏🏽 Thanks for watching Please remember to Subscribe, Watch & Like 👍🏽 my videos it helps reach more people 🙏🏽 Thats SUPER awesome your going to do GREAT‼️
I’m in my second semester of the first year of my program so I like watching your videos to plan out my future. From what I’ve heard I believe you can become an MRI tech without having an RT cert but most places prefer to hire people that are cross trained. I have a video idea for you. In Maryland, my home state, MedStar, a really big company that owns big hospitals, has a acquired a bunch of urgent care centers and is trying to pass a limited licensure law so that they can hire people at minimum wage to take x-rays for specific body parts that their licenses would be limited to. Our school had us write letters to our representatives opposing this bill because it really would be a disaster for radiation safety. I believe this bill passing would have greater implications for the entire country and other states will follow suit. How do you feel about limited licensure?
Yo! Thank you so much for always supporting, I appreciate you ‼️🙏🏽 WOW I had no idea that was happening & your absolutely correct that not good for our field! I definitely would a pose! Thanks for the idea 💡
@@juanmotiva8s959 please don’t quote me on it being only med star. I know they’re proponents of this bill because of the reasons I mentioned but I’m sure there are other people with insensitive for this bill to pass. That and I don’t want to get blacklisted or something here in my state 😅
Hello Juan you have been a inspiration for me this year I qualify for radiology supervisor and I’ll be applying you motivated me to seek radiology management I’m going straight fur director of radiology in few years and your videos really inspired me to shoot fur the stars I stutter as well but I never let that hold me back and other techs made fun of my stutter but in the end they end up losing!
@@juanmotiva8s959 thank you so much juan!!! I knew life had ambitions for me and I could never stop till I was at the top! You remind me of a tech named Juan who taught me at clinics he was a great caring guy thank you for inspiring techs like us to reach fir the stars🥰
There are others like Medical Dosimetrist, Cardiovascular technologist, Cardiovascular Intervetional radiography and few others. Medical Dosimetrist and Radiologist Assistants are the ones with the best salaries.
Yo! Welcome 🙏🏽 Thanks for watching Please remember to SUBSCRIBE, WATCH & LIKE 👍🏽 my videos it helps the channel reach more viewers who need this content 🙏🏽 You’re correct but the Medical Dosimetrist are being faded out. Thank you so much for this informative & comprehensive video on radiology. I just got my letter of acceptance into the radiography program at my local community college & I am so excited.

PACS Administrator here, background in IT for 5 years then became an RT(R). 10 years after became a CIIP with certs in CIIP, CompTIA Network+, Security +, A+. The pay in Florida for PACS administrator is between $37 to $55 an hour depending on experience. Mentally much more challenging than being a Technologist and many more responsibilities but very rewarding as well. These jobs are exclusively salary and require on-call so work-life balance is okay not great.

@@Josh-vb4kd Sooo much information. The math wasn't terrible, but my professor didn't make it easy either; Physics 1 whittled our class of near 30 down to 5. Hey! I know you are based in Florida. But what do you think of the pay in Chicago, IL for X-ray techs? Ik X-ray pay depends a lot on your location. To add to this, I’ve seen new grads start at $30-32 and hour in Chicago at a hospital (more work, which is understandable for being a hospital) and the COL is reasonable. Also if you had a sister that was an X-ray tech would you recommend her doing mammography, radiation therapy or MRI? I am aware they require extra school in, but I’m willing to put in the work because I love radiology sm! ❤️ thank you! Love your videos!

What do you think about becoming a radiation therapist. I want to become one but I’ll have to wait more than a year to start the program since applications close in January for the fall semester.
Hi 👋 Welcome 🙏🏽 Thank you for watching Please remember to Subscribe, Watch & Like 👍🏽 my videos it helps reach more people 🙏🏽 Ok so Radiation Therapist is a great career! Great work/ life balance & money is amazing but those jobs are kinda hard to get because people who get full time don’t leave & retire from there. My suggestion would be go to X-ray school first that’s (2) years and then after that Radiation Therapy is only 1 more year! Plus you’ll have both RT & Rad Therapy to have options for employment 🙏🏽 Hope this helped 🙏🏽
@@juanmotiva8s959 I believe in FL they did away with being able to sit 1 year for school if you are an x ray tech. You have to do the full 2 years in radiation therapy school.

Thank you so much for making these videos!! I'm thinking about going to rad tech school, but one question I have is: do you find that you often work alone in imaging careers? Are some more solitary than others? Or would you be working alongside other people in the same room all the time? I'm sure it depends on a lot of factors, but I'm just asking because I get distracted by other people easily and work best when I'm alone 😣
Hi 👋 Welcome 🙏🏽 Thanks for watching Please remember to Subscribe, Watch & Like 👍🏽 my videos it helps reach more people 🙏🏽 Ok so this all depends on where you work and what shift. Hospital: Working Evenings, Overnight or weekends = Usually works alone or only 2-3 people. If you work at an urgent care you usually work alone. Hope this helped 🙏🏽

I became an X ray tech 12 years ago and after a few years I let my license go : ( I liked patient care better and kept renewing my X ray license so 2 years ago I quit paying for it so it expired . my question is do I need to re take classes to get my license renewed ?? do I need to re apply for a program ?? right now I am happy being a Medical Assistant but I was curious about what to do if you lost your license ? in Medical Assistant now I make a lot more than X ray Tech
Yo! Welcome 🙏🏽 Thanks for watching Please remember to Subscribe, Watch & Like 👍🏽 my videos it helps reach more people 🙏🏽 Ok so my question is what kind of X-ray tech were you? It had to be a basic tech or limited X-ray and the reason I say that is because no where in the 🇺🇸 does a medical assistant make more than a fully certified X-Ray tech (R.T.) R. We go to school for 2 years and the average pay for a full Rad Tech in the 🇺🇸 is between $60-80K I don’t know any Medical Assistant that makes that. Unless I’m wrong let me know bro. So to answer your question about renewing your Xray license it depends on the state your in bro. Every state has different policies. If you make more as a medical assistant why would you want Xray again ? Just curious
What is the likelihood of getting a job right after graduation from a rad tech program? I’m thinking about going back and am very interested in the field. Granted I’m in my 40s and starting completely over from a different field, so a bit nervous about being able to land something right away afterwards. Lol.

My daughter is interested in MRI Tech in California. She's just a freshman in HS so trying to do all our research early. Do all states require RT training first before specializing in a specific modality?
Yo! Welcome 🙏🏽 Thank for watching Please remember to Subscribe, Watch & Like 👍🏽 my videos it helps reach more people 🙏🏽 So no state makes you do RT First but it’s a great foundation. Because for example after your an RT you can go back to school & do MRI in as little as 3 months. Now let’s say she goes into MRI first which takes 2 years and then realizes once she’s in it she don’t like it as much as she thought and want to go to RT then it would be another 2 years. So basically RT is your foundation but if she’s 100 % an MRI girl then o suggest go straight into MRI! @juanmotiva8s959 just thought of something else, hoping to get your view point. And maybe this is a whole other video lol With technology advancing rapidly (ex. Ai, robotics, etc), do you foresee the demand of radiation techs decreasing in the near future? Since you're in the field daily, have you heard of any companies trying to invent or come up with technology that no longer requires techs? Not wishing that at all. I guess I'm just trying to get a better understanding of how "future proof" this type of career can be.

Hope this helps 🙏🏽🙂
@juanmotiva8s959 I live in Tampa, I'm Brazilian and it would be my first time in college. I'm not sure how to get my transfer papers since I'm 42 and the school I went to doesn't exist anymore 😅😅😅 (God I'm so old) hahaha
@juanmotiva8s959 I don't have a formal career, I'm a nails tech and working in a cleaning company at the moment but I feel like I should do something bigger

This will help you 🙏🏽
Hi 👋 Welcome 🙏🏽 Thanks for watching Please remember to Subscribe, Watch & Like 👍🏽 my Videos it helps reach more people 🙏🏽 Your absolutely correct Interventional Radiology is another modality you can get into. You can do this by cross-training and then taking the ARRT Registry. They get paid very well I will say around $100K per year because they are always on-call & they get called in a lot! Plus most have nice sign-on bonuses like $20K!
Yo! Welcome 🙏🏽 Thanks for watching Please remember to Subscribe, Watch & Like 👍🏽 my videos it helps reach more people 🙏🏽 Ok so an RA salary is about $80-100K depending on who you work for but those jobs are hard to get because the people who get those jobs are usually PA - Physicians Assistant. It would be smarter to become a PA instead because a PA can move into different specialties and an RA is only stuck in Radiology with tons of Radiation ☢️ Hope this helped 🙏🏽
@juanmotiva8s959 got it...I'm still working on general education requirements, and I'm exploring my options. One more question, if I may. Is there a difference in salary between an Associates degree in radiologic technology and a Bachelors degree in radiologic technology?
@rapprelevant333 No there’s not. The only way you get more money is if you go into a different modality like CT & MRI. A bachelor’s will give you the opportunity to apply for a supervisor or manager role in the future but those opportunities are very slim. Follow me on TikTok under same name “JuanMotiv8s” I will be going live soon. If you want real information real insight follow me on Instagram under “JReactzTv” DM that it’s you and I will break it down for you.

Hi 👋 Welcome 🙏🏽 Thank you for watching Please remember to SUBSCRIBE, WATCH & LIKE 👍🏽 my videos it helps the channel reach more viewers who need this content 🙏🏽 I apologize certified Mammo techs make between $34-36 hr. You can achieve that after you get your ARRT certification. It only takes a few months to get your Mammo and I’ve heard it’s the easiest registry to pass. Hope this helped 🙏🏽
Hi 👋 Welcome 🙏🏽 Thanks for watching Please remember to Subscribe, Watch & Like 👍🏽 my videos it’s helps reach more people 🙏🏽 Ok so ARRT usually don’t allow anything that’s not based out of the 🇺🇸. So from my understanding you have to have a degree from a 🇺🇸 school in order to sit for your ARRT registration. Hope this helped 🙏🏽
Hello 👋 Welcome 🙏🏽 Thanks for watching Please remember to Subscribe, Watch & Like 👍🏽 my Videos it helps reach more people 🙏🏽 Ok so back then I went to a private school for Radiology & we didn’t have to take the HESI but now all schools are requiring the HESI. Hope this helped 🙏🏽

@@juanmotiva8s959 thanks man, I really appreciate the help
Don’t give up, I’d just try again. My mom is a doctor and one thing she told me to not give up is that even doctors fail their exams/don’t get accepted right away and may take 3 attempts to finally make it. Keep going!👍
@@Armyblink4life554 thanks for the kind words. The school I originally applied for ended up reaching out to me and said they had space for me in their program, so I’ll be starting at the end of March! Super happy

Thats SUPER awesome your going to do GREAT‼️
Thats what i would like to know. Do we need RT first then mammo tech?
Yo!
Thank you so much for always supporting, I appreciate you ‼️🙏🏽
WOW I had no idea that was happening & your absolutely correct that not good for our field!
I definitely would a pose!
Thanks for the idea 💡
@@juanmotiva8s959 please don’t quote me on it being only med star. I know they’re proponents of this bill because of the reasons I mentioned but I’m sure there are other people with insensitive for this bill to pass. That and I don’t want to get blacklisted or something here in my state 😅
this is happening in new york also , i overheard my professors talking about
Hello Juan you have been a inspiration for me this year I qualify for radiology supervisor and I’ll be applying you motivated me to seek radiology management I’m going straight fur director of radiology in few years and your videos really inspired me to shoot fur the stars I stutter as well but I never let that hold me back and other techs made fun of my stutter but in the end they end up losing!
Yo!
Thats makes me so happy!
I’m super proud of you ‼️‼️‼️

Ok so Radiation Therapist is a great career! Great work/ life balance & money is amazing but those jobs are kinda hard to get because people who get full time don’t leave & retire from there. My suggestion would be go to X-ray school first that’s (2) years and then after that Radiation Therapy is only 1 more year!
Plus you’ll have both RT & Rad Therapy to have options for employment 🙏🏽
Hope this helped 🙏🏽
@@juanmotiva8s959 I believe in FL they did away with being able to sit 1 year for school if you are an x ray tech. You have to do the full 2 years in radiation therapy school.

Yo!
Welcome 🙏🏽
Thanks for watching
Please remember to Subscribe, Watch & Like 👍🏽 my videos it helps reach more people 🙏🏽
Ok so my question is what kind of X-ray tech were you?
Lol.

Hi 👋
Yes they do get paid well in NY, CA & TX but those places are higher cost of living places.
You can always get 2 jobs and make great money!
Hope this helped

This is valuable information can you. Name all the schools in Florida and benefits
Hi 👋
Ok so that all depends are you closer to North Florida (Jacksonville) Central Florida (Orlando) or South Florida (Mami) ?
So I committed to a college under a biology major. I was reading that in order to even enter RT programs you need at least an AS in biology. Do I need the AS or BS before I enter the RT program or can I find a program that I go straight into RT schooling?

Yo!

Ok so my bad for leaving it out:
Cardiac & Vascular = Specials
They usually get paid a sign-on bonus of $15-20K & then hourly is around $35-40 hr plus they are always on-call because they are made up of teams & when they get called in for a cardiac or specials case ALL of the team must show up.
Hope this helped 🙏🏽
Do Radiology Technologists have flexible working schedules like nurses do ?
Hi Cynthia 👋
If your full time it’s usually 3 (12’s) so 4 days off but if you choose PRN you work when you want to work.
Also i got my interview coming up, i am a med school dropout. Dropped out due to visa issues and not really grades but i digress. I want to get into radiation therapist.
I am in Long island University post campus but i ultimately want to move to texas. I am an international student so do you think visa sponsorships will be available for me
Hello 👋
Thanks for watching
Please remember to Subscribe, Watch & Like 👍🏽 my videos it helps reach more people 🙏🏽
I will be honest with you I have no idea how the sponsorships work but I know that Nurses are way more likely to get sponsorships than anything else. So if I were you I would look into Nursing instead.
Hope this helped 🙏🏽
@juanmotiva8s959 i actually want to get into medical imaging. Like i love the job because its a bit chill laid back but is crucial to the community nonetheless. Its wayy less death i mean tbh. Ive seen a few during my clinical rounds as a med student and I dont want to be around death.
I totally understand 🙏🏽
PACS Admin? I had no idea such a position exists. I’m currently in Xray school but I also have an IT background. Quick question… do you know if this position is remote?

What private school in Miami are you referring to where you can complete CT in just 3 months, if you are already a RT ?
Hi Cynthia 👋
Ok so if you go on Google type in
“MRI-CT GROUP MIAMI, FL”
It will pop up and you have the choice to choose MRI or CT.
My daughter is interested in MRI Tech in California. She's just a freshman in HS so trying to do all our research early.
Do all states require RT training first before specializing in a specific modality?
Yo!
Welcome 🙏🏽
Thank for watching
Please remember to Subscribe, Watch & Like 👍🏽 my videos it helps reach more people 🙏🏽
So no state makes you do RT First but it’s a great foundation.
Also, follow me on TikTok under same name “juanmotiv8s” I will start going LIVE soon to help people directly 🙏🏽
@@juanmotiva8s959 That makes full sense! I appreciate your content and detailed responses. Thank you!
@JuanCoolDad My Pleasure bro ✊🏽
@juanmotiva8s959 just thought of something else, hoping to get your view point. And maybe this is a whole other video lol
With technology advancing rapidly (ex.
@JuanCoolDad honestly we do so much on a daily basis that there’s no way a robot can do what we do!
Also, how many times have robots or computers have gone down and things go haywire … Plenty !
So no I don’t see that ever happening in our lifetime bro but great question!
In ny is it higher
Because ive heard people say they get 35-38 right of the bat as an RT.
Yeah NY is higher do to higher cost of living.
I’m in Lakeland. What’s the fastest private school in Florida for RT degree that you know of?

Yo!
Yeah it is weird but trust me as a man & what some mammo techs says about what they see.
I’m personally ok with not being able to do Mammos 👀
No information on cardiovascular and Neuro interventional Rad tech😮😮

Sorry man
Cardiovascular Techs- make about $35 hr
Neuro interventional techs make about $40 hr
Also, this is based out of Florida
Texas & Cali pay way more.
Hope this helped 🙏🏽

You dont mention RA salary? I tried to find it, and it cant be right. Most of what i seen was like 50k a year. So not sure how else to look it up or if its called something else?
Yo!
Sorry so a Certified Radiologic Assistant makes about $80-110K but the number of positions are very very limited do the PA’s (Physician Assistant) taking most positions.
Hope this helped 🙏🏽
Seems like top states paying are Texas and California?
Yo!

Definitely TX & CA are the 2 highest paid. CA is a higher cost of living than TX so in TX you get more for your money 💰

Ok so yes you need to become an RT before getting into Mammo.
Sorry mammo usually make between $34-38 Hr in Florida. It’s a good move for females because once you’re a Full Mammo tech your work hours are amazing. Mon- Fri 8:00am-4:30pm no weekends or on-call!
Hope this helps 🙏🏽🙂

What about Interventional radiation Technologist?
Hi 👋
Welcome 🙏🏽
Thanks for watching
Please remember to Subscribe, Watch & Like 👍🏽 my Videos it helps reach more people 🙏🏽
Your absolutely correct Interventional Radiology is another modality you can get into. You can do this by cross-training and then taking the ARRT Registry. They get paid very well I will say around $100K per year because they are always on-call & they get called in a lot!
Plus most have nice sign-on bonuses like $20K!
Whats the salary of an RA ?
Yo!
Welcome 🙏🏽
Thanks for watching
Please remember to Subscribe, Watch & Like 👍🏽 my videos it helps reach more people 🙏🏽
Ok so an RA salary is about $80-100K depending on who you work for but those jobs are hard to get because the people who get those jobs are usually PA - Physicians Assistant.
It would be smarter to become a PA instead because a PA can move into different specialties and an RA is only stuck in Radiology with tons of Radiation ☢️
Hope this helped 🙏🏽
@juanmotiva8s959 got it...I'm still working on general education requirements, and I'm exploring my options. One more question, if I may.
Is there a difference in salary between an Associates degree in radiologic technology and a Bachelors degree in radiologic technology?
@rapprelevant333 No there’s not.
The only way you get more money is if you go into a different modality like CT & MRI. A bachelor’s will give you the opportunity to apply for a supervisor or manager role in the future but those opportunities are very slim.
Follow me on TikTok under same name “JuanMotiv8s” I will be going live soon.

So there’s a couple ways:
1:) Join the military = Free College
2.) Most local hospitals have a scholarship for locals & you can usually pick what healthcare career you want.
3:) Go to a State College & DON’T GO TO A PRIVATE COLLEGE ‼️
Best possible ways
Hope this helped 🙏🏽

I apologize certified Mammo techs make between $34-36 hr.
You can achieve that after you get your ARRT certification.
It only takes a few months to get your Mammo and I’ve heard it’s the easiest registry to pass.

Ok so ARRT usually don’t allow anything that’s not based out of the 🇺🇸. So from my understanding you have to have a degree from a 🇺🇸 school in order to sit for your ARRT registration.
