    I installed these before adding a reading room, but I had the foam ones. Nail protrusions aren’t going to cause serious issues, but they could cut or scratch you for sure.

    Can a multi-tool also be used to cut this as well?

      It wasn’t a lot. I didn’t holes in my vents. That’s all.

    I'm about to start installing rafter vents in my house, would it effect the roof cutting the nails like you did ? Or should I bent the nails flat ?

      This Is my opinion only. I wouldn’t try to bend it. If you haven’t had a leak in that area, bending it might cause a leak. Might!! That is why I cut off the end. To avoid disturbing that shingle and nail. I hope that makes sense. Once you put up rafters vents you won’t know if a leak occurred because the water will be hitting the rafters going out the vent.
