  • This one was a big disappointment and did not match the brand’s perceived reputation. I have $10 Chinese parts from eBay that are better than this product. Can’t win ‘em all.
    Thanks for watching. Enjoy!

    I'm running the dnd quick release on both my cars (sc400 and 350z) and the one on my sc400 is perfectly fine with no play while the one on my 350z has play just like the video showed. I've also gotten a replacement quick release and the play is worse than before and for the people saying its installed wrong its not. There's literally only 1 way to install the quick release so installation error is not possible. I'm also running the dnd hub and steering wheel on both cars so compatibility isn't an issue either. Manufacturer defects does happen it's a hit or miss.

      Finally, some goddamn vindication. People think I’m crazy or have it out for this company because I got a defective part and they didn’t. Perfect example of how a product can be bad right here, folks.

      @@HiroshimaSpirit no company is perfect manufacturer defects happen here and there. For you as a first time buyer wanting to try a different company and got a defective part it's understandable to see where you're coming from. Idk what people expect you to say when you're telling them your experience. I'm going to be getting a 2nd QR replacement from dnd for my 350z and hopefully it has no issues but at least the company is trying to resolve the issue rather than leaving you in the dust.

    • @HiroshimaSpirit

      It’s just a shame because I researched the QR for a week before purchasing it and nobody seemed to have anything bad to say about it, then I received something that looked and felt like it came from Wish. Somebody has to post negative reviews, because it happens, and are often the villain because of it. 🤷🏼‍♂️

    *Let me clarify some things for those who see this video and misunderstand it’s message.*
    - DND admitted to me that this item was defective and promptly issued a refund. Nothing I claimed (and documented in great detail) about the quality of the part was untrue. Visual defects aside, there was a noticeable *delay in steering* due to how much play there was between the two parts of the quick release. I don’t know about you, but I call that unsafe.
    - There is no implication that everything they make is bad. I’m sure they sell plenty of products that aren’t defective, but I’m not spending my own money on finding out. This review is about ONE defective part, which was purchased, and refunded, directly from DND.
    - If you have purchased this same part or others from DND and had a positive experience, good for you! I did not. That’s why I made the video. Nobody’s saying you’re wrong, so calm down.
    - If you feel like I have a personal vendetta against DND, save your comment. Again, I had a bad experience with a defective part. I have nothing to gain from sharing my opinion on the matter. I don’t work for a competing brand, I wasn’t paid to say the part was junk, I definitely did not make it up, and I was over the whole thing the moment I received a refund. However, I have a platform that I can use to make people aware of the issue. Steering is the most important part of a car and I felt obligated to share my experience.
    I’m sure I’ll keep receiving more comments from people who probably didn’t even watch the whole video, let alone read this comment, but I can at least hope that this helps clear some things up.

    • @jincui3887
      @jincui3887 3 года назад

      So you complained, got a timely refund, was over it, but still felt the need to post a defamatory video. Gotcha

    • @HiroshimaSpirit
      @HiroshimaSpirit  3 года назад +3

      This particular comment was made long after the video was and the video itself was made before returning the item. The fact that I was refunded for it doesn’t make it any less defective. If nobody posted bad reviews of bad products, a lot more people would be wasting their time on those same bad products... that’s what reviews are for, bud. Food, movies, services, and any number of other things get negative reviews from people who had bad experiences. What makes this situation any different?
      If you have one and it’s not junk, great! Nobody’s telling you to not like it.

    if it was DESIGNED backwards theyd probably change the release mechanism, but they havent, so its a correct produced QR but DND puts a sticker on there to make it seem as if thats the correct way to mount it, the bump (with the sticker on) is intented to sit inside the steeringwheel hub. Idk what they thought of with this, push away and pull hahah.

    I bought the Amazon one.. i thought it had alot play till I realized that the spline is notched. It only "fits" one way. If it's not aligned properly, it has play. Have one on my 350z. Also the push design is designed around paddle shifters.. so you can't accidentally release it while driving.
    The dnd one is probably the one from Amazon re-badged

    The NRG gen 2 knock offs are way better. They've got the same poor tolerances but as they're 3 times the diameter it has less of an effect. With a way bigger second moment of area they'll take a LOT more bending stress too.
