    Meet Mat 2 is a texturing challenge where you need to paint basic 3D Model in Substance Painter, pushing your creativity to the limit. There’s a new take on the contest this year, though: with the addition of displacement in Substance Painter, you can now use height data to alter the shape and silhouette of our character.

    Hi Mike. Just wanted to say, as a student trying to learn some more SP, your breakdown here is very useful. Not only that, but I really loved this when I saw it and I'm very happy that you made a breakdown on this! Thanks!

    Hey Mike, I have a question, how to transfer these heightmaps you made as short and long brush in Unreal Engine 4? Because I followed all the steps in Substance Painter and yes I have great heightmaps but they are not visible when I import it to Unreal Engine 4, help?

    Hey I‘m from germany and my english is not so nice - could you tell me the name of the brush in 1.30 please? I cant do it. thanks a lot!

      Katharina K hey 👋 it’s just a standard brush on a paint layer with constant height value. This effect is possible because of displacement in Substance Painter

    привет, подскажи плз подробней, совсем для дурачков(точнее новичков) как на модельке сделать выпуклости и как регулировать этот процесс, нифига не получается..

    How do I add the bristle brush it's not working? I added displacement in my texture set settings. and in my head section I added a paint layer but when I paint it doesn't pop out like your bristle brush

      Hi! Make sure you changed the scale in the displacement settings 1:32

    • @mythsfuture3201
      @mythsfuture3201 4 года назад

      @@MikeVoropaev Ya I did but when I change the scale for displacement it's affecting my object's body as well

      @@mythsfuture3201 Well, what I'm using in this video is the Height map (don't forget to use that as a source channel in Displacement settings). It's affecting the body because you probably have a fill layer with height channel. So, you can basically launch SP, choose Start Painting (Mat model will open up), change displacement scale, and activate only Height channel in the active paint layer - and start painting with some height value. That should work
