How do you know if you are capable of being a STEM major?

I am in the camp that knows I am capable, but I just need to buckle down and focus. I might be wrong but I will give it my best effort and if I fail I can keep my head up and be proud that I tried my best.

Success = Talent * Effort^Focus + Random Events.
Effort and Focus are in one's control. Talent is revealed by the application of Effort.
The second term can take on positive and negative values: life is like that.
