I met a British woman on a Christian dating group and we spoke with each other for about a year. I flew to England from Florida to see if we would click the same way we did via facetime. We got into deep conversations regarding dating and that one of us would have to move if we want to make it work (after marriage of course). After my trip in England she prayed and thought a lot about it and we made the relationship official today. She is a wonderful woman of God and I will continue to pray that our relationship will thrive.

My LD relationship has certainly brought me closer to the Lord. Without the physical temptations it’s certainly enabled the spiritual, intellectual and emotional connections to be strong and tested. Thanks to the global wickedness we can’t meet up yet but it’s a great opportunity for God to reveal His greatness. If this is His will we know He’ll make a way where there seems to be no way. 🙏🏻
I once dated a girl who didn’t date with purpose. When one person is dating with purpose and the other isn’t it really kinda sucks.
But now I’m in a Christ centered, dating with purpose, long distance relationship and, may I just say, it is so much better and healthier! Gold has blessed me so much with this relationship!! Dating with purpose is Biblical dating, I truly believe this.

From my experience. It get's cold if both are not committed it is very difficult to get to know someone when you are so many miles away. You and your wife were committed and weren't playing games that is so very awesome. Sounds like you were attentive to each other's desires and needs as well. So rare to find nowadays Mark. Sadly so. This video just popped up. Wow, I was just praying about this. Me and my high school friend began long distance dating. I had just challenged God that there was no way he could provide me a Godly spouse, who was strong in his faith & kind. My friend ended up being even more than what I'd ask for. The connection was more powerful than anything I'd ever experienced. I was practicing celibacy at the time, but when we met in person 4 months after dating long distance & 15 years since we last saw each other. We fell to temptation then everything fell apart. I wish I had seen this video 1 year ago. At least I now understand what happened, and Satan will do anything to prevent a Christ centered marriage.

I'm currently living in France and my fiancée lives in South Korea. We met each other in France on October 2017 and started dating officially on November. On August 2018, she had to move back to South Korea and I followed her. I stayed there for four months, then I had to go back to France for my job. Since then we've been in a long distance relationship. In 2019, we only met twice (for two weeks and one month respectively). And on November, I finally proposed her. She accepted and we are planning to get married this year and to live together in France after my fiancée graduates. Being in such long distance relationship improved both our faith for God and our trust for each other. It's not easy, it was sometimes very difficult, we had doubts and fears, but God provided. Almost the end of this journey. I pray God will continue to make us strong. We need His love and guidance.

I've really needed this. I've been having a tough time recently since me and my boyfriend are so far away. I'm from America and he's from South Korea. I have the tendency to bombard him with texts and I keep asking him if he can call while he is the type where he texts when he wakes up and before he goes to bed. Whenever he forgets I tend to freak out and ask him where he is but I know I shouldn't. You've help me realize that I need to remember why we are dating. This video really has helped me. I know this is years later. But so helpful. God has brought a man into my life & we are long distance. I am 64 he is 57. We have both been through difficult divorces with ample time passing & healing. We believe God is bringing us together. We haven’t even met in person. We met online.
Makes sense Mark...the long distance dating does work sort of like a "filter" to make sure there aren't any emotional hurtful games being played and helps with creativity (I like the surprise package via mail you guys had 🙂). The con in "idolizing", as you said, and ending up with a bad surprise, that's scary!😨 And yes, moving will be necessary but the temptation will increase. I think if moving is a decision is because you are almost 100% that he/she may be the one and that marriage is on the table because it has been deeply discussed amongst both. Mark, after moving, how long would you say a formal engagement should be in order/wedding?
I agree Rose Morales, if you are going to move the relationship should be very serious at that point. Bethany and I dated 1 year long distance, 4 months when she moved here, we got engaged and were married 4 months after that.

I dated my wife long distance. She is from South America. That wasn't too bad the hard part is actually when we got married. It's easier to text or email someone then talk in person. You really miss out on a lot of stuff and don't get to know each other as well if you are in person. The moving part was extremely hard on her and still is with the language difference and cultural differences. I wouldn't recommend it but That is just my experience.
The other con that I see with a long term relationship is that you don't know if the person has been faithful to you or not while being in a long term relationship and they could possibly woo you and marry you without you even knowing of their unfaithfulness
I suggest you watch his video on whether someone is trustworthy.
This is the very first time in my life to be in a LDR. I'm in PHIL she's in Canada. We decided to be lovers just last month and planning to get married Lord willing after a year. We are so sure to each other, she's a new Christian and I'm 6-year old, so I'm the one who leads her more to Christ by many ways each day. My bf reside in Ghana, he’s Ghanaian n same as me but I reside in Birmingham England We met online , dating 3 months now, we sooo much inlove with each other we planning to get married this year, he’s gonna meet my family sooon in Ghana,,LDR is hard but with determination it will work out, i truly love him, we FaceTime most of the time……….. can’t wait to meet him n to be his Mrs…
Ironically this video came up. I thought it was a new one but it is 4 years old. Either way, my partner and I just started officially dating around early November. We met in early August and didn't have out first date until the beginning of September. Then we had another date towards the end of September. We live an hour or so away both by car and by train (he drives; I don't). Additionally, our work patterns are completely different. I work Monday to Friday and always off weekends; he works 12 hour shifts and tends to work on weekends.
We try to keep in contact as much as possible. He is very systematic and will typically text me all day on the couple days he has off (days I'm working). I tend to text all day when he doesn't. We always respond to each other's messages. We're very open with each other. He gives me his whereabouts and I give him mine.
We haven't seen each other since our last date. I know some people may argue an hour isn't far. But if I don't get home until 5pm then input the 1hr car ride to me not including it would be longer due to traffic. Then you have to consider one mentally decomposing from work before having guests. Then don't forget I have two kittens who do require my attention as well. Then to add his own life responsibilities. It's a lot but we really try to make it work. We've decided that though it's hard, we'll wait to see each when we both have at least a day to share with each other and not just 5 hours like last time where he has to rush back to work (he works on call). When you're dating long distance, quality is over quantity.
Another positive about long distance dating is that it teaches you patience

I've recently been talking to a woman that lives hr and half away, we met on a Christian group on facebook. She's been deaf from birth so we text a lot and this video came out the day we brought up dating. I said if it was god's plan I would need to pray about it. Kinda took this video coming out as a sign but not sure which way to go... advice please!!
My advice, take the advice of the video and apply it to your relationship and go with it.
If you are having a long range relationship and get advice like this for that very thing, apply it and see how it goes, it's not coincidence, such a thing doesn't really exist.

How do I know if my long distanced Fiance, who I met online is " Christian Enough"? He does and says the traditional customary Christian things correctly, but he did not grow up in a Holy filled environment like mine and I don't know if his spiritual short comings are signs that hes not close with God or if my lens of seeing him is through just high religious standards I been brought up to believe. This is my only true concern before marrying him.

How do I throttle down when I already figured out I liked a Godly woman by her fruit. We both want just friendship for now and see where it goes. We briefly talked about meeting but it’s now April and she’s not available to meet till the beginning of June. Just tough just be friends but I find myself completing her and flirting because I like her. Just difficult to navigate.
Did you deal with friends and family who shared their opinion about how they believe long distance does not work?
There was one family member on my wife's side that said some negative things to her, but he isn't a believer and had poor relationship views so it was pretty easy to just blow it off when he said anything.

I don't want to date just to be dating. It's a waste of my time. I am too old for all that. If I was younger, that would be different. But even then I didn't want to get myself attached to a lot of guys. You date, it's not the right person, you break up, cry, and then the cycle goes on all over again. That's insane to me.

I’m doing a long distance relationship it’s been about 6 months and right when he was coming to visit this pandemic hit so we had to wait on traveling. He has stated his relationship with God is praying and talking to him daily but church he didn’t feel like it was necessary, although he would go to see how it can be. Whenever you guys would go and meet with one another, how did you guys decide where the other would stay during visits? In my situation, we can’t afford to buy hotels every time we visit each other. We’re very serious about our relationship and committed to making it work, but just confused as to how we’re supposed to go about these little issues.
I understand your situation. I am currently dating a born again believer (like myself) who I met on a Christian site. We believe in non premarital sex. So we're patiently waiting for our wedding day. Only thing is he is in Italy, and I'm in California. Being he's a foreigner, and Italy is not his native land, we have some set back's. He has been consistent, and has never asked me for a dime. He just asked that I would pray for him instead. I work two jobs as a single parent, and can't afford multiple plan trips or hotel rooms. Plus being he has some slight document issue's, we have to wait for his clearance. It's so frustrating because financially I have more then him, which isn't really anything. He's a hard worker and honest man, it's just stressful really liking someone, who can't really offer you anything at the moment. I guess I will continue to trust and have faith in God.
Well, I have family that lives in his city and quite close to his house actually. He can't really come see me without staying at a lodge or something. I'd say a good way to work around this is to make mutual friends who can help out. For example, a male friend of mine has a place my boyfriend can stay at for a few days while visiting.

I think the concept of dating stresses everyone out. There's definitely nothing wrong with living in singleness. I mean, Paul was very in favor of that kind of life. But I don't think it's something for everyone. If you have a strong calling for singleness then power to you, but if it's just nervousness of spending time with other sex perhaps it's just a barrier you'll have to learn to overcome

The anxiety may be due to an impossible expectation of finding a perfect person and a perceived inability to love or accept anyone imperfect. I offer it up to the Lord with complete trust. God's will is perfect and earthly suffering is sometimes involved in order to give Him glory. He knows my desire and I love Him.

We cant get to know each other. None of us want to move from our places. I don't handle long distance well at all. I need to spend time with the guy and grow together. The distance killed our relationship and made sexual temptation worse. When we were together the last thing on our mind was sex. We can't see whats going on and we miss alot of what is going on the others lives.

But in my situation if we do end up dating/courting i would be in the military active duty for 6 years and i would be stateside when in Inactive ready reserve for 2 years and she would be in college for 6. So we would be done around the same time. We would be kind of forced to date long distance. But of course i would be on leave.

I have met this man online dating who is Christian as I am we share the same lifestyle views home views we've talked about house rules children and he has brought up marriage in all of the important things at this point now that we've asked all the harsh questions and coexisting together we now just need to get to know each other and get comfortable with each other like what do we like to do for fun that we've handled all the hard stuff. they both are definitely have agreed and want to get married but not right away but we agree we are each other's life partners but we want to take this time to still get to know each other we clicked right away and we've been in agreement and on the same page with everything so far. the problem is it is a high class dating site which I didn't realize until I realized I couldn't afford to keep talking on the site I asked to bring it off the site but he's not able due to his work in politics and feels he has no privacy other than the site but he said he will try to figure out a way for us to communicate off the site as I can no longer afford it financially. he is really upset about this and I kind of am too but however I have left the ball in his court and I don't know what to do other than pray what would you suggest?
