I remember, September 1981, for my 17th birthday my 3 girlfriends took me to see Rick James and Tina Marie in concert in Denver, CO. One of the best concerts ever. At the time it was my favorite song, till this day it’s one of my favorite songs. Rick and Tina made this song last for about a hour, with Rick starting out with storytelling then off stage Tina breaks in with her incredible voice. It was magical! I’m forever grateful to my friends. I’ve lost touch with them, but I’m forever grateful, wherever you are, Richard!

The chemistry, the band, the mary jane girls singing background, the effort put into entertaining the crowd Rick james was a smart man and really underrated. He tried his best to make classic music and moments.
I'm not sure why you think Rick James was underrated. He was the King in my time. We'd buy his albums as soon as they hit the stores. We never missed his concerts anywhere within a 800 mile radius. Sooo, again, not sure where your information is sourced.

She knew in her wisdom that the goodbye to lady Tee was the only possibilty their love has a chance because she knew that he won't overcome his sex addiction over night and she knew that she can't live with that. Lady T had an amazing voice! Unbelievable range, effortless. I remember I was in Jr. High. I went to the record store, asked the cashier for it & was surprised to see a white woman! She was a funky soul singer! I had 4 albums. She passed too soon!

I remember, September 1981, for my 17th birthday my 3 girlfriends took me to see Rick James and Tina Marie in concert in Denver, CO. One of the best concerts ever. At the time it was my favorite song, till this day it’s one of my favorite songs. Rick and Tina made this song last for about a hour, with Rick starting out with storytelling then off stage Tina breaks in with her incredible voice. It was magical! I’m forever grateful to my friends. I’ve lost touch with them, but I’m forever grateful, wherever you are, Richard!

A very underrated singer/songwriter/musician. And as for Rick James...forget about it. He was one of the greatest talents of the 20th century.

What folks have to realize this was his protégé and this girl had tremendous talent which Motown could not contain. Lady Tee was never recognized by the WHITE COMMUNITY as she should have been but she knew she had the BLACK COMMUNITY WHO LOVED HER MUSIC. Before you make judgment take a listen and hear this wonderful singer/performer/songwriter take you there. I guarantee she is far better than anything you ever heard from Britney Spears. Britney can't SING but this vocalist(Teena) blows you away.
