  • San Francisco1950s vs 2020s 'historic' 'Nostalgic_Vintage_Retro' (NVR) drive. Most of the buildings still there. Painted weirdly though. Point Lobos Avenue, Seal Rock Drive, Clement Street & Legion of Honor Drive.

KTT,, Great video I found myself looking at the top part of the video more, it was more beautiful in those days. I like the split picture of the video I see that a lot of the houses were torn down the music was great it sounded like a kazoo and near the end it sounded like a guitar 🎸🎶🎶 again great video thank you...

So much still remains of days past, my home at 1206 Haight street was a quake survivor...these videos I seek possibilities of family past, from school days to my dad at the controls of a MUNI trolley car...The City was a so special place for a kid in the early sixties !

Any footage on Fleishhacker Pool, Winterland, Odd Fellows and Laurel Hill Cemetery, Sky Tram, Playland, Seals Stadium, and 1950s Market Street at night (Neon lights/Globe lights) would be greatly appreciated.

Wow! I'm always amazed about San Francisco! I've never been there, but I've seen it in so many movies, videos, documentaries, and travel books that it feels as if I've been there already! The natural surroundings are absolutely breathtaking but the built up environment is no less amazing! Ahhh! ❤️ Anyway, after seeing this video, I can tell San Fran has been incredibly well preserved and maintained! Thus, i assume that environmental and architectural preservation began early on in the city's history, way earlier than other cities, I would presume! Thus, I'd appreciate if someone here tell us when preservation efforts began in San Fran. Now, I've been to New York and find it incredibly amazing and extremely filled with energy! And yet, San Francisco looks like a dream come true: blue skies, outstanding scenery, great history, world class food, unique architecture, and a Mediterranean lifestyle with an American twist! Sadly, I haven't visited because life, work, and responsibilities sometimes get on the way of your dreams! But I'll try to visit this year although not sure when! Thanks for sharing and feeding our spirits with such a jewel of a city! 💎

It used to be just what you say, but now it is a filthy sewer. I am a native San Franciscan, so I saw the devastation take place.

@@michaelbenardo5695Sad! I've heard the bad news recently! I really hope it doesn't go Detroit's way!

It looked better in the 50's.

    Gimme the 50s ...
Better vistas, less claustrophobic, cool American cars, nicer house colours, less overgrown, fewer ugly power lines ...
Oh and it was sunny - that definitely helps :)

Wow, it was so much better before. Nice and clean, no drug addicts, no encampments, and no governor Reagan and no president Reagan. How I miss my hometown.

Where’s all the homeless and drug addicts ? We’ve progressed so much in 70 years 😂. At least there’s no smog ….

Don’t enjoy the ones with still shots for comparison. 🫤. Should be easy enough to get contemporary VIDEO.
