    It's amazing how friendly the majority of people in Mexico are compared to what the media portraits it to be. Here in the United States you very rarely find that kind of hospitality towards a complete stranger.

      It’s so true Jeff! How many of us are just willing to drop what we’re doing and take in a stranger. It’s very admirable and I would say it’s definitely in their culture! It’s not like some one off thing. It’s the greater majority as hopefully the videos kinda prove, being this is not the first time this has happened

    Can’t even imagine digging that well. Really hard working people. The river looked great. I grew up swimming in a river type area. So much fun. I was really worried about you when you went off with the guys you just met. You hear so many bad things about parts of Mexico. I pray that you never run into any of the undesirables. I had to remind myself that if we are seeing this then that means you are ok. I’m just a mom and grandma that worries. I can’t imagine how your mom worries. Stay safe and God Bless. Can’t wait for the next video.

    Some of the bigger cities, especially those that are commerce centers, are not as lively as the smaller towns. There's a more hometown vibe in the smaller towns. I can't remember if it was Acapulco or Puerto Vallarta, but I grew up hearing about how beautiful these cities were and when I finally visited (visited both, just can't remember which one let me down) it was a huge shipping port and congested and kinda ugly. So I'm not surprised you didn't enjoy a suburb of Mexico City like some of the other places. And like you seem to be finding, once you get off into the smaller towns and villages, the folks are pretty darned nice. That was always my experience in Baja. Just good, hard working people.

    Hey, always look forward to your videos man! I'm actually originally from Cuernavaca, and believe me that your assessment of the city is spot on. Unfortunately, for the better part of the last 20 or so years the city and the state have suffered a lot of political mismanagement that borders on abandonment combined with serious issues with organized crime. The city has a lot of cool history and landmarks (the residence of Hernan Cortes, the summer/weekend home of Emperor Maximilian and Empress Carlota, the very unique Cathedral that is devoid of most any of the ornate sculptures or art that is typical of Cathedrals as it was center stage in the rise of Catholic Liberation Theology just to name a few.) but nobody takes care of anything, and the city looks nothing like it did say 30 years ago. It mostly retains some notoriety because it is a popular weekend spot for people from Mexico City, but that is about all the "magic" that it has left.

    • @LandonBishoff
      @LandonBishoff  9 месяцев назад

      Ohhh wow! Yeah it almost had the same feeling as Acapulco is the sense that you could feel where in the past it was more taken care of. It’s a tricky position for me to be in since I don’t ever want to offend anyone. And also who am I to say if somewhere is all that great or not. It’s not like it’s a terrible spot, I think I just had imagined something so much more. If I wouldn’t have had such high expectations I’m sure I would have been more happy with it! Overall though it’s in a beautiful part of Mexico. Thanks for the insight on the history of it too being actually from there!

    • @rutaloot
      @rutaloot 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@LandonBishoff Yep! Acapulco is very similar, it had its glory days up until the 90s and now it is neglected and survives as a destination for people from Mexico City. And I really wouldn't worry about giving your honest opinion/feedback on a place. you are an awesome dude and i am not sure if you knew, but offside guerrero or guerrero jungle in general is nr. 1 cartel zone in whole frickin mexico. ridin there solo on a motorbike - you can just call that suicide. that is like driving to a cartel bosses houses and just waving and smiling and seeing what will happen lol

    • @LandonBishoff
      @LandonBishoff  3 месяца назад

      I mean as you can see in the videos and the other videos I did get stopped by the cartel and it wouldn't be my first time. My experience with the cartel is they aren't in the business of just killing gringos for no reason. It doesn't make sense to heat up the area for the small amount of money that is worth my bike & my belongings, or myself. They also won't blink an eye in showing you who is in charge if you arrive thinking you're the shit acting all tough. So I don't think it was dumb, I don't believe it was equivalent to flipping a coin. Of course there are risks everywhere. but I wouldn't have done it if I thought I was risking my life. I will say this Hallo... If I was Mexican I wouldn't have done it.
      You can call me dumb all you'd like, but this theory I have has proven true many times now. It doesn't benefit these guys to kill Gringo tourists. It proved true in Sinaloa, the mountains of Durango, all the cartel avocado orchards of Jalisco & Michoacán with CNGJ & it proved true in Guerrero. So if it was as dumb as you are saying it was... I wouldn't be alive right now writing you this.
      You can preach the fear all you'd like, but the many times I've come in contact with many different cartels its actually always been a net positive experience for me. These guys are professional and apart of huge businesses! They are protecting their zones and watching who comes in and who leaves. You show up with respect and acknowledging you aren't the one who is in charge there and as a gringo who speaks Spanish I don't think it's as big of a risk as you are making it seem. Again if I was Mexican I would not do this.

    • @LandonBishoff
      @LandonBishoff  3 месяца назад

      I appreciate this brother, but yes I knew and I'm aware of all the hot zones in Mexico. To be honest I feel safer in some of the cartel zones than other places.
