  • Well guys it finally happened.. For the first time on this whole entire Mexico trip I finally got put onto the side of the road.
    After an amazing time in Mezquitlan with Saturnino and his family I continued to make my way across Guerrero. Guerrero is interesting in the fact that it has an insane amount of mountains. In fact look at it on a map and you'll see that the majority of the state is riddled and almost completely covered in valleys and ridge lines. In this episode I started making my way across those ridge lines towards Oaxaca. I wanted to stay as high as I could in order to beat the heat and enjoy the ride a bit more.
    Not even an hour into my ride I ran into troubles with the bike. After getting things sorted out I ended up stumbling into a town called Tlapa de Comonfort. A pretty decent sized city I stopped for dinner. I had planned on this being a quick meal to get out of the city limits to have a better shot at finding a camping spot. However fate had different plans. A gentleman approached me while I was eating and started asking me about the bike. I could see he was going to eat so I invited him to sit with me. The rest is history and is shown in the video. He ended up introducing me to lots of his friends and we had a great time in Tlapa the next few days.
    0:00 - Intro
    0:36 - Leaving Mezqy
    3:45 - Saying goodbye to Saturnino
    9:44 - Problems
    11:40 - Getting Creative
    14:54 - Back on the road
    16:05 - Beautiful Guerrero countryside
    19:08 - Arriving in Tlapa de Comonfort
    24:00 - Lots of new friends in Tlapa

I am sure that you will pay it forward in the future. Great episode I would definitely put one if those stickers on my bike!

    The kindness of strangers is wonderful thing in travel! Glad to see you still have blood to circulate after all the damage the mosquitoes did! Most importantly, know the warning signs of heat stroke. It's a very serious thing and you should pay extreme attention when they arise. It literally can be life or death depending on the person. Take care, be well, and that was a wonderful video as usual.

  • @matthewpeterson3329
    @matthewpeterson3329 9 месяцев назад +1

    Great video as usual. If you want to keep from feeling lousy in the sun, try wrapping a wet bandana around your neck (I've actually torn the long sleeve off a shirt, as well as used a tube sock for this). It will actually cool your entire body a bit. Also, I have found that light hooded shirts (like a lot of fishermen wear) work great for keeping the direct sunlight off your head and the back of your neck, and really keeps you cool. They are usually made of performance fabric so they wick sweat quickly. Something to consider if you see one in a shop down there. Here in Phoenix, I find that it's not the heat, but the beating sun that makes me feel shitty if I am exposed too long and working hard. Stay safe and hydrate before you get thirsty.

    • @LandonBishoff
      @LandonBishoff  9 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks Matthew Yeahh lots of wisdom in this comment! I guess the thing is it just kinda sneaks up on you I’m a situation like this. You think I’ll just get this done real quick. Then it just keeps adding on. I do have one of those shirts with me. It’s the green one I’ll wear it has a hood and everything. I love it. When I finish this trip and start getting ready for the next one I plan on only buying those kind of shirts and using those since I like them so much! Yeah growing up not too far from you in Blythe I hear ya on the heat haha

    • @LandonBishoff
      @LandonBishoff  9 месяцев назад

      You think?? I was wondering that, but I ruled them out in my head because the bites were only on my exposed skin. For example not a single bump on my stomach or thigh... Only where my blanket wasn't covering. From what I understand about bed bugs is they would be on the bedding itself hence where your covered
