  • After testing skis all week at the ski test in La Clusaz, we have put together our favourite all mountain skis for me, and you can see the individual reviews across our channel too.
    Black Crows Camox
The Black Crows Camox skis are a one-ski quiver option that blends a playful, medium flex with solid grip and good float in soft snow. The updates this season have been to modernize the ski profile, the Camox the contact length on the side of the ski has been slightly lengthened to give more stability and grip at speed while not diminishing the maneuverability this ski is famous for. The Flex has also had a slight adjustment to be more progressive, this ties in with the lengthening of the contact point so the ski is more responsive and engaging.
With a waist width just under the 100 mm mark, these skis hit the perfect balancing point between demanding powder ski, and versatile all-mountain cruiser, they are wide enough to take into the backcountry, however, they are nimble enough to charge around on piste. Featuring a full poplar wood core the Camox provides you with a smooth flex that is softer in the tip and tail and has a firm flex underfoot, to give you easy turn initiation and exit whilst still being super grippy underfoot. This full wood core is backed up by carbon/kevlar strips that bring extra power and rebound to the ski at a fraction of the weight of metal for a smooth and poppy ride that allows you to make the most of the whole mountain.
With rocker in both the tips and the tails, these skis are super playful and loose when the time calls for it making them an excellent option for predominantly directional who want a more playful feel for hitting natural features and nipping through tight spots like trees and bumps.
These responsive skis are perfect for intermediate and up riders, the Camox skis have found a great combination of piste precision and off-piste maneuverability so if you the sort of skier who wants to be able to handle any snow condition, then the Black Crows Camox skis are a great choice.
    Features Include
Double Beak Profile - Early rise in both the tip and tail makes pivoting easy and turn initiation smooth. The early rise also gives float in powder and soft snow versatility. A traditional camber profile underfoot generates power and grip on the piste and keeps the skis stable at high speeds
Poplar Wood Core - This is a lively core that gives stability and performance when charging
Semi-Cap Step Down ABS Sidewalls - A semi-cap construction gives the strength and grip of sidewalls, but also saves weight and makes the skis easier to pivot
Carbon Kevlar - Strips of Carbon and Kevlar sit on top of the wood core to give better rebound, this makes the ski more playful and reactive
Binding Reinforcement - Extra fiberglass is placed in the center of the ski to make the binding section of the ski stronger
    Salomon QST 92
A modern design for the modern freerider- the QST 92 profile offers an agile and responsive ride, while the lightweight 92mm waist and freeride shape are perfect for cruising the bumps or exploring the side country. Sound like fun to you?
Short turn The imaginary circle created by the ski's sidecut (radius) is under 15 m.
Medium turn The imaginary circle created by the ski's sidecut (radius) is between 15 m and 20 m.
Long turn The imaginary circle created by the ski's sidecut (radius) is under 20 m.
    Rossignol Arcade 88
These follow in the footsteps of Rossignol’s previous Experience collection and are described as their “All-Mountain” series. Rossignol says that the new Arcade 84 and Arcade 88’s “combination of a shorter turn radius with a rocker tip and tail profile make for progressive carving on all types of terrain.”
The Arcade 84 and Arcade 88 are both targeted at expert and advanced skiers and reportedly feature Rossignol’s PEFC-certified wood cores, “Line Control Technology” (LCT), and “Vibration Absorption System” (VAS). The Arcade 88 gets a “full titanal” reinforcement while the Arcade 84 features a smaller titanal layer around the center of the ski. Rossignol also states that the Arcade skis feature a bio-based resin that reduces their carbon footprint by 8%.
We were kitted out in Helly Hansen gear which really kept us super dry and warm when we really needed it. The Elevation Pro Shell jacket and Bib pants was a lovely combo, I had a lot of comments on this gear :)
