I was at this show! Home from college for summer. Lucky to have seen him twice.
Is this the show where it poured rain. I'm trying to figure out what year I saw Steve at Poplar.
@@gavinpaterson1853 I was there. The ticket stub instantly clicked in my mind. I still have it somewhere. Pouring rain. People running from security on the sloped lawn seats. Security and people slipping and sliding as everyone cheered. Stray Cats opened. Stevie played and during Texas Rain, the rain and Stevie both intensified. I'm pretty sure it was this show, Stevie died a bit over a year after I saw him.
@@dkimcg So this was the Rain show. I was in the lawn with friends and remember pleading with security to let us in the pavilion as there were not many people there. We were finally let in.

Poplar Creek would have been such a great venue for this. I remember it well. Especially right there at the end of summer. I imagine there would have just been they tiniest hint of a cool off happening that evening. I would've loved to have seen this show! I didn't know about Stevie Ray back then, but just listening to this tells me it was an amazing night!
