Despite Djokovic not playing USO, it’s still pretty open and if he finishes the year with 21 to Nadal’s 22, he’s still pretty much with his hands on the wheels. Rooting hard for Rafa.
This was pretty ferocious for an exhibition match! Nadal bringing 100% intensity and displaying the sharpness and movement of a 21 year old despite a chronically broken foot - he really is one of a kind! Love the classic 0-40 hustle hold at the beginning of the second set. How many Wimbledons would he have if the year started with the grass court season - surely 10+. From this angle you can also see how phenomenal his timing is - returns and balls on the stretch coming right off the centre of his racquet.

Rafa needs to serve extremely well to make a deep run. He service games have been vulnerable and more so when he faces an extremely good server. A lot will depend on Friday when the draws come out. Very good highlights, thanks for uploading. Nadal looking sharp, although Stan is not the man he once was. And he never excelled on grass anyway. Hoping for an easy draw for both.
In his last two Winbledon appearances, Nadal has reached the semi-finals. This year, one with the lowest tennis level of the last decade, and Rafa more varied and aggressive game, only Djokovic is above.
Glad they are on opposite side of the bracket, instead of the travesty at the French Open. I still think it is a strong pack this year, even if it isn't the strongest. The young players are coming up, but Nadal didn't play any tournament and is nursing a painful foot. I'm hoping he will get in some real good matches before the second week bc that is when the real challenge begins.
@@peace4myheart Im just afraid of servebots coming his way in the first week. Kyrgios should be placed in Novak’s half as Rafa always match up with him.
I think Nadal is sharper and has more variations in his game than Djokovic this season. The Serbian didn't play a lot, he started his year when clay season began. Nadal on the other side had to adjust his game with his permanent foot injury. It contributed to add more finesse to his game than never before. Yes Djokovic's game is usually sharper than Nadal because he anticipates more and has more angle than the Spaniard but not in this season for now in my humble opinion.
Nadal is an unknown on grass. He made his grand slam debut here aged 17 in 2003. He was able to win Winbledon twice (the first in his 5th participation). Included until the 2011 final against Novack he had a record 20 wins in a row; but also losing in the first round (2013) or against unknown players like Rosol (100th) or Muller.
2012 he had the knee issue. 2013 I think he just wasn’t prepared physically cause that clay season was brutal. 2014 wrist issues, 2015 he wasn’t at his best, 2017 muller played well, 2018-19 he did well
Nadal's pace is insane this year, im static to see him play in wimbledon, even tho im rooting for Novak, its going to be crazy. Nadal is the man of the year without a doubt.

Despite Djokovic not playing USO, it’s still pretty open and if he finishes the year with 21 to Nadal’s 22, he’s still pretty much with his hands on the wheels. Rooting hard for Rafa.
Djokovic will play us open everything is changed in 2 month
The vaccine restrictions are being removed. Likely Novak can play in the US
Nadal will never win wimbeldon this year. Not if there is Novak
@@Bachda1727 No. Djokovic will not be able to play in US OPEN. Rules will not change in such a short time...

Thanks for these highlights. Really like this camera angle.
Nadal is playing, Therefore he is fit. If he's not fit then he is not playing. Pls stop with the bs nonsense
Yea what happened to his foot? He was playing with heavy injections or something right?
I thought he will miss this one
@@draoicht22 you can still play while not feeling 100%. I’ve played while injured and it’s a constant distraction, preventing you from concentrating properly which is the most important thing in tennis. You’re always wondering if you’re making the injury worse by continuing. So I’m just saying his play is impressive at the moment considering what he has to deal with. Nadal has said that he has had a degenerate foot condition since the beginning of his career, so if you think he’s lying about this take it up with him. He’s fit enough at the moment to be playing near his best, which is a good thing.
He had some treatment after the French open which has reduced the pain a bit. He’s going to try to play Wimbledon without anaesthetic injections.
Rafas mobility is looking good, if he gets past the first 3 rounds he will be hard man to stop!
cilic hurkacz berritini felix can stop him

Nadal es una Máquina!!! No hay otro como Rafa!!
Rafa looks scary good so happy for him, Vamos Rafa 23 is coming soon
Rafa needs to serve extremely well to make a deep run. He service games have been vulnerable and more so when he faces an extremely good server. A lot will depend on Friday when the draws come out. It would be interesting to see opponents in his quarter and half. FAA, Hurcakz, Kyrgios and Berettini are all challengers. Alcaraz is there too.
Alcaraz on grass? What are you privy to?
Nadal is super smart..He is surface conscious ..so aware that we are now on grass not clay hence his ball game is smooth in this match, even though his style remains the same..my God that's what I call balance 😍
For me that's wisdom only a true champion can have ..Rafa 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Everyone: Nadal is amazing. Wawrinka still good too.
Me: That grass is beautiful.
I like what i'm seeing, aggressive return, aggressive both side. Nadal looks like old wine, I love his shot selection this year, he is smarter with age. If he has a good path not like in RG and if his foot let him to play at least like this for 2weeks, i really think he has his chance. At the end of the day, I think he is the only one who can beat Djoko here.
Unstoppable invencible Matador ❤️
Love love love this camera angle!!!
Wawrinka, Federer, Serena, Murray are all ripe for retirement. Murray and especially Nadal have proven to be stubborn with unquestionable abilities. Nadal's recovery time is out of this world, Murray's body is unbelievable despite multiple hip surgeries.
For sure Nadal moves faster than Serena 🤭🤭🤭🤭
@@reneclem1354 At 205 Lbs of which 31.7% Fat for sure she's going to be much slower.
I really like the camera level. Thanks!
lol all these years after novak and rafa still the favorite at wimby
16 years after rafa's first Wimbledon final and 11 years after the first djokovic nadal slam final
I thought it was in 2019 or something, I was shocked he was moving very well and Stan gave the ball to make him run. Impressive by Nadal
Of course Stan isn't the player he was anymore and he's on his worst surface but Rafa really showed some really good things about moving and willingness to be aggressive. I Hope the best for him at Wimbledon 🤞
Rafa looking angelic in white. Wimbledon BLESSED to have him in the 2022 draw.
Beautifully shot. Just wow. Rafa looking real sharp. :') Glad to see Stan back. Vamos!
Back? Stan is nowhere near the level he needs to be, I won't be surprised if Murray beats him!
Beautiful match & im blown away how Nadal has not only reborn his game adding new things but he also recreated a newer more effective serve!!... Unbelievable!! And I'm a Fed fan but Nadal i respect right there and like too🔥💯🔥
Don’t think anyone expected Stan to be much of a challenge on grass in his current form really but Rafa looked good except for the serving blips at times. Hope he can get that first serve percentage higher so we can see him legitimately challenge for the title 🤞🏾
Let's hope Kyrgios and Berretini are on Novak's side of the Draw
@@jeffreykaufmann2867 Don't forget Hubi as he is pretty good too. But yeah, can't wait to see the bracket. Berretini is no joke on grass with his big serve.
Serve doesn't really decide his chance for winning, because there is another machine and also the best returner to expose him.
@@EricLiu1107 it's way easier for Novak to return serves on Clay.
@@EricLiu1107 yet nadal had better win rate on second serve. anyway nadal an also put same amount of pressure om his opponents serve
I believe every spectators in the stadium and online really enjoy Rafa’s game….it gives them joy and inspiration…thank you, Rafa. More magical, supernatural and excitement on R2…. You can do it. What a nice looking court! Looks so nice to play there
Nadal and Djokovic both looked amazing today. Going to be tough to beat either of them, especially the further on they get. Best chance of an upset is a big server or like Kyrgios in the early rounds
What a beautiful court and holy crap Nadal is good lol
Obrigada🙏🙋♀️💚🍀🇵🇹
I got a ticket to see Alacaraz on the Saturday. My favourite player at that beautiful club. Insanely excited!!!
Very good highlights, thanks for uploading. Nadal looking sharp, although Stan is not the man he once was. And he never excelled on grass anyway. Hoping for an easy draw for both.
Beautiful Tennis by The God Of Tennis Nadal😊
@@peace4myheart they are gonna be number 1 and 2 seeds because medvedev and zverev arent playing so they are going yo be in opposite sides of the draw
@@MJHistory100 Not correct. Djokovic has been more consistently excellent, but Nadal's best is better than Djokovic's best.
Only his foot knows.
2012 he had the knee issue. 2013 I think he just wasn’t prepared physically cause that clay season was brutal. 2014 wrist issues, 2015 he wasn’t at his best, 2017 muller played well, 2018-19 he did well
@@taylorpack7705 he couldn't play in 2009.
Sampras used to hold the all-time (open) record for grand slams at 14.
That's how many French Opens Rafa has won.
???
Yes
Movement looks crisp and Rafa not holding back on shots. Great sign he’ll be a real factor
He's holding back. Didn't go all out.
What a great camera angle to watch tennis.
Rafa doing some serve volley there. He's excellent at the net.
Looking good , lets go 4 23🏆
I enjoy this very much.
RAFA = G.O.A.T.
If Nadal's first serve is in place, he will be unstoppable
I love one backhand AND Wawrinka has the best one!
Nadal's pace is insane this year, im static to see him play in wimbledon, even tho im rooting for Novak, its going to be crazy. Nadal is the man of the year without a doubt.
Love both players. Glad Stan The Man has achieved GS feeling after being in Federer's shadow for so long
Loving this angle.
King Rafa...
Nadal is 1 year younger than wawrika but his fighting spirit is younger than 20yrs old.
Nadal is also always hungry like a teenager. JAJAJA
Backhand of Nadal looks flat and good. FH still too much top spin for grass season. FH can be flattened further. Serve and free points is critical.
rafa looks good here. first week in wimbledon is gonna be crucial for him, but if he continues to look this good there's a good chance he'll live to see second week
Agree. If he can make it through the 1st weeks with some much needed practice on the grass court, then he has a good chance of making it to the final.
@@peace4myheart i concur 🎾
I want to see Nadal win all four majors this year and retire on a high note.
Why do you want him to retire? That doesn't make any sense, he should play till he is competitive and his body allows.
why retire after winning 4 in a row, keep it going.
Nadal will play until his limbs fall off his body. He simply loves competing too much to retire just because he won it all
Why would he retire if he does that
@@carldavis2253 I think OP omitted the word "CAN". Nadal can retire after that and everyone would be ok with it. Of course he won't if he is able to, but I feel his foot is going to force him into early retirement in the next few years.
Let's go, Nadal, the goat of tennis! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Looking solid. Confident serving.
It should be frustrating, that you are one of the best in tennis, you work a lot and you have no choise to win Nadal
Rafa definitely thinking about the calendar slam . Can’t not be at this point. He looked excellent here
If Nadal wins Wimbledon, I pray he rests until the USO! What feat that would be.
Bravo Rafa!
Wimbledon needs to get cameras ready to capture this angle for its highlights -- you feel closer to the players and it's more enjoyable to watch
It's cool how grass tennis sounds and looks almost the same as 100 years ago!
How do you know? How old are you anyway?
@@peace4myheart I'm 117 years old. I carved my first racket from a tree branch, and the balls were made from woven bird feathers
Great Nadal!! 3r Wimbledon is coming!!

Rafa looking sharp!! Hopefully he can stay injury free 🤞🤞🤞
Great practice for the bull on grass as long as he is looking good and fit with no pain on his foot he will be fine at Wimbledon especially having the easiest draw probably in a long time at Wimbledon.

See Rafa's backhand. Much better than anytime before
what a year it would be with Nadal being a new dad later this year ,and winning Wimbledon
