    Stan Wawrinka:
    -Won his first Grand Slam at 28 years old.
    -In 4 finals, he won 3 times.
    -He beat Novak Djokovic twice and Rafael Nadal once. He only lost once against Nadal and that was during the French Open, which is quite "normal".
    In my opinion, Wawrinka is the most respectable player I've ever seen.

      In the modern game on either the men's or the women's sides the two handed backhand takes precedence and will continue to do so.
      Federer has stated that if his twin sons decide to play tennis he will teach them the TWO handed backhand despite the fact that
      Roger has stated that HIS two handed backhand is as lousy as Joan Baez's poetry (according to Dylan).

    Stan Wawrinka and Andy Murray are the only two guys to win multiple Grand Slam titles (3 apiece) in the era of the Big Three. FACT: 52 of the last 62 Grand Slams have been won by Roger, Rafa, Novak. Only 5 other players have a slam since 2004. Of those 5 players, only 2 of them have more than 1 slam (Stan 3, Murray 3). Pure dominance by the big 3. So it makes it even that much more amazing that stan has even won 3 slams.

      @V be a man and admit when you lose a debate. I did nothing but give you FACTS and then in the next message you tell me to list stats? LOL are you blind? I just listed a whole bunch that nobody else has done but Rafa. All my answers backed with stats, yours just backed with childish impudence. Grow up man and learn how to debate. Want some more stats? Out of Nadal's 18 slams, guess how many he had to win in the finals against Roger/Novak? 10. That's 55.55%...more than half. Nobody else has had to face Roger/Novak more than Nadal in a finals match ...not even Novak or Roger if you do it the other way. Out of Nadal's 26 total slam finals matches, he had to face Roger/Novak 17 times. That's a whopping 65% of all his slam finals had to face Roger or Novak. Nobody else comes close. Novak only 52%, Roger is somewhere down in 30%. So while Roger built his career on cans and tuneups, guess who Nadal had to build his legacy on? Roger and Novak. To build your greatness and legacy on 2 other goats, that makes it remarkable why Nadal is the TRUE GOAT. He's had the hardest fight in his career and that's why he is the GOAT. These are facts and stats! Don't cry now in the next message with your childish whining. I gave you facts, now lets see if you can be a real man and accept it.

    Stan is Novak's achilles heel. I think I might know why. 1), Stan is a living backboard just like Novak-giving him a taste of his own medicine. He just keeps sending it back at you until YOU make the mistake. 2), Almost every shot coming from Stan is a rocket, including his backhands which are the strongest on Earth. Federer keeps dishing out his soft, feathery shots which Joker loves since it gives him the respite to marshal a plan and attack. Stan doesn't give him that luxury. Each and every shot is coming out of a cannon not giving Novak the time to strategize. HE's always under pressure and desperate to just keep the ball in play. Now if only Federer could take a hint from his pupil.

    • @casualmeat

      It's not that easy I fear. Wawrinkas Phisicality is something else. Extreme concentrated power and stamina. Federer just isn't built for consistently pounding the ball in that way. He relied on keeping the rally short and constructing angles to hit precise winners. When the courts slowed down, he started to play "safe"
      but if 50% of your backhands land before the service line you'll have a hard time against a 5 years younger opponent with infinite stamina like Djokovic...

      The GOAT has a 22-6 hth on him. Stan's never gone further than 2 QFs at Wimbledon. He's 38 years old. Grass isn't his service. GOAT will notch up 24th GS next week Sunday, minus the 2 bans last year. GOAT is 2 years younger. Stan has only 3 which is still amazing, and his backhand the best the tennis world has ever seen. In his prime, he bundled out the GOAT in 2 GS finals, but that was awhile ago and both once offs. Only one GOAT. Hard luck for Stan tomorrow. If he wasn't playing the GOAT, he might've made the semifinals of Wimbledon for the first time but that's where it would end. Course I'm being generous

    Just watched the whole match over a two day period. First time I have watched since watching it live on TV in 2016. Great match by Wawrinka, really wore down Djokovic to the point of exhaustion. What I really find interesting is how Wawrinka could stand so far back on the US Open hardcourt and still be successful. He has the power to do it, I suppose as results have indicated, that policy is not really sustainable over a long period of time but he had enough to win this championship in 2016.

    • @Pklrs
      @Pklrs 3 года назад +1

      He has the power to do it consistently and also i think he doesnt really like playing near the base line and the ball on the rise hence the poor performances on grass.

      Thats a pity for Stan He can't say it generally for his whole rivalry against Djokovič. Djokovič leads h2h against Wawrinka 19:6 .... Djokovič beated him 4times on GS.... Another fact is that Djokovič played with injured elbow on US open 2016 ... Went on surgery after months of pain. This was not prime healthy Djokovič.... This Djokovič was washed up ..
